Lobbying Plan

Structure your lobbying plan following this standard outline incorporating appropriate heading levels:

1. Cover Letter (your letter of introduction)
   350-525 words introducing yourself and the issue to your state representative.

   For the first part of the assignment, you may use any appropriate cover letter or business letter template that your word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word) likely offers for free. It is important to keep the format simple and free from distracting borders, images, and designs. You can also use to get started.

   Your letter must include the following: 

   1. Personal introduction, including any credentials or background information you feel are important to gain rapport.
   2. Introduction of the issue, including what you would like to see happen with the issue.
   3. A request for an appointment with the representative to discuss the issue. 
   4. You can continue your lobbying plan on the page proceeding your cover letter as follows.

   3. Provide examples of areas that are working well and may need to be enhanced, as well as areas that are not working so well and need to be changed. (A Level 2 Heading)
5. An Action Section (A Level 1 Heading)
   350 700 words where define what action or legislative changes that they would like to see take plan to resolve their issue. 
   1. Explain what resources may be needed to execute the plan. (A Level 2 Heading)
   2. Analyze how executing this plan will provide better services. (A Level 2 Heading)
   3. Provide examples of the measurable improvements that you would expect to be the metrics for ongoing evaluations of the plan. (A Level 2 Heading)
6. Conclusion (A Level 1 Heading)
   300 700 words bringing the paper to a logical end.

    

7. References

This is your final submission. Your paper should be  5,000 words in length and be based on articles from the last ten years. You are required to use APA formatting for in-text citations and references. For further guidance, refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.).

Your assignment should be complete and integrate the feedback you received from your instructor following the submission of your rough draft.

The title of the paper will be Your Name:  A Philosophical Summation,  Your Names Apology,A Georges Symposium.  Or something like that.

In this paper, you will take three of our main ideas and show how they help to explain your life.

Your paper will have a 1-2 sentence introduction, setting the scenetelling a bit about the class, naming the three ideas that interested you the most, and then explaining in 1-4 sentences how these ideas relate to you.

The paper should have a cover sheet that is a work of art.  The cover sheet should have an image and title that reflect the thesis.  You may use I in this paper.  Please do your best to refer to the philosophers.

  Socrates and Philosophy

Please pick one of the following questions to answer and they are as follows:

• Based on Plato’s dialogue, Apology, assess the charge leveled against Socrates of corrupting the youth of Athens. (a) Do you think Socrates corrupted the youth of Athens? If so, why? If not, why not? (b) Summarize and critically evaluate Socrates’ defense on this particular accusation – was his defense convincing to you or not? Why or why not?

• In the Apology, Socrates refuses to accept any lesser form of punishment (such as a fine or exile). As such Socrates is sentenced to death.  (a) Why does he do this, and (b) what moral principle does Socrates draw upon in defending his choice for not pleading for a lesser charge in order to save his life?

 Abortion & Egoism

Goal: The goal of this forum is to examine the ethics of abortion and egoism.

Psychological egoism is the view that all persons, without exception, seek their own self-interest. Ethical egoism is the view that recognizes that perhaps not all persons seek their own self-interest but all should do so. Explain whether Glaucon’s argument supports psychological hedonism or ethical egoism or both. Explain whether psychological egoism implies ethical egoism.

Poverty in Human Services

Poverty is a major social problem in our society. Nearly 1 in 5 children live in poverty in the United States, with prevalence varying by region and state. As you read in Chapter 3, the human services field has a long history and value of addressing the needs of the poor in society. Now, imagine that you are a human service professional in a community non-profit agency that provides case management services to a diverse demographic of low-income families. As a case manager, you apply ecological systems theory in your biopsychosocial-spiritual assessment and treatment planning with children and families.

After completing the reading, please respond to the following:

• In what ways could you advocate for children and families in poverty in this role, taking into consideration key concepts from ecological systems theory?

By confirming an accurate diagnosis through a measurement instrument, a social worker ensures that the appropriate evidence-based treatment is used.

  • Briefly summarize your case, highlighting the diagnostic symptoms seen in the case.
  • Describe your decision-making process for identifying the key problems in the case and the differential eliminations for your case.
  • Identify the diagnosis chosen by you and your partner for the client in the case. Explain the diagnosis by providing the supporting DSM-5 criteria with specific examples of how your client met those criteria.

Include a transcript and/or edit closed captioning on your video to ensure your presentation is accessible to colleagues of differing abilities.

• Post a fully coded DSM-5 diagnosis. Remember, a full diagnosis should include the name of the disorder, ICD-10-CM code, specifiers, severity, and the Z codes (other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention).
