Listed below are two opinion editorial news articles (op-eds). Write an op-ed to respond to the ideas expressed in the articles by Williams or Zarracina. his week we examine freedom. To do this, we read about economic freedom, equality of opportunity, and equality of outcome. Like all societies throughout time, social paradoxes elevate frustration levels. You read about two inconsistencies including that while our model of modified capitalism encourages economic self-interest while our model of self-governance encourages that we voluntarily assume the role of being our brothers keeper (i. e. engaged citizenship). You also learned that Americans are not as interested in equality as they are in the sense of fairness.
Life exists in the tension between the ideal and the pragmatic (the real world). Think of an example in your life, whether at work, home, school, or during your relaxation time, when you, or someone you know, struggled with a conflict between, the way things ought to be, and the way things are. How do you do it?

Write a 2-page elements of fiction essay on one of the short stories, or the poem, from the assigned readings for Module 01. Explain the following in your paper:

Key historical events which influenced the piece: Expand on how the key historical events influenced the plot and theme.
Setting: Why is the setting important to the story? (The setting is where the story takes place).
Theme: What is the major theme or idea of the story? Here are some examples of themes you might find in literature: loss of innocence, love, loss, grief, man vs. nature, man vs. technology, death, old-age, coming of age, alienation, overcoming the odds, a heros quest, etc.

Note: The theme of a work of fiction is different from the plotthe plot tells you the sequence of events or what happened. The theme tells you the main lesson or message of the narrative. It is the main point that the author wants you to understand from reading the short story, poem, or novel.

Also, select one of the terms to include in your story analysis from your Literary Terms Exercise in this module (Allegory, Ambiguity, Antagonist, Archetype, Diction, Flashback, Foreshadowing, Protagonist, and Regionalism). Explain how this was used in the story, with examples and lines illustrating your claims. Use in-text citations where needed.

One of the Nursing Organization that I would like to be involve in is the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center). The ANCC is an organization whose goals is to promote excellence in nursing and health care globally through the use of credential programs. ANCC is also involved in a prestigious award and credentials of the Magnet Recognition program given to hospital that holds up to the high standards and practice in healthcare. Application of ANCC Magnet program and Pathways to success program have shown improvements in clinical outcome such as reduced hospital acquired infection and sepsis length of stay in some hospital considerably. (Lewis, 2019) The ANCC is an independent branch of the American Nursing Association. (American Nurses Association, 2020) They are ISO 9001 certified, and help provide credential for many areas of nursing such as APRNs.

National League for Nursing have over 40,000 individuals and 1,200 institutional members. NLN focus is on nursing education programs that range from the higher educations, health care organizations, and healthcare agencies. NLN mission is to promote excellence in nursing education in order to establish a strong and diverse nursing work force that will in help advance the health of our nation and the global community. NLN offers three types of memberships from individuals, School of Nursing, and Associates with an annual fee that differs depending on what choices you choose and what category you fall under. (NLN, 2020)

Another organization that I would like to join also is Academy of medical-surgical nurses. This organization is dedicated to the practice of medical-surgical nursing. Their mission is to promote excellence in medical-surgical nursing. Their focus is in workplace advocacy, evidence based practice, professional development, and leadership. (Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses, 2020) Their community consist of more than 11, 500 individuals. They offer credentials that you can obtain through certified programs and tests for medical-surgical nurses. To join this organization and application is filled out and payment for the organization annual fee differs due to different category that you may fall under.

All the organization have a common thing in that they choose to excel and promote excellence in their respected fields of practice in order to provide patients the best care they can possibly receive. These organizations will help my worldviews in helping treat patients with kindness and to the best of my ability. My goal as a nurse is to ensure top quality education and care to patients and to ensure that my fellow nurses are well educated in their nursing practice as well. The organization I intend to be a part of goals align with mine and will help me become a better overall nurse.
