Purpose: Identifying appropriate topics for research in criminology/criminal justice

In this assignment, you are to use the Internet to locate two (2) current news stories related to criminology or criminal justice. The first story should be about a topic that WOULD BE appropriate for criminological/criminal justice research. The second should be about a topic that WOULD NOT.

You will then write two summariesone for each article. Each summary should include:

–    The title of the article.
–    The source of the article.
–    The publication date of the article.
–    The articles URL.
–    A brief summary of the article (i.e., using the old journalism approachdescribing the who, what, where, when, and why).
–    A brief paragraph describing why the topic of the article is or is not an appropriate topic for research. There really are no right or wrong answers just make a rational and effective argument. Many of the concepts in Chapter 1 could be useful in your reasoning.
