- When friends of new parents ask, What is the babys sex? they could be asking two things: (a) Does the baby have the biological genitalia of a male or female, and/or (b) Will your baby follow the social role of a male or female? Describe the major differences between the terms sex and gender. When YOU ask this question, what are you really asking?
- Discuss some of the ways that puberty can adversely affect mental health and social functioning (with peers and parents). Explore this further with regard to individuals who experience atypical sexual development.
