Application: Euro Disney Case Study

The entrepreneurial process can be very rewarding for entrepreneurs as well as for customers and investors. Entrepreneurs and investors of successful ventures have the possibility of large financial rewards while customers are set to receive the benefits of a new product or service. However, the entrepreneurial process also includes the possibility of failure. The case study that you will complete this week is about an organization that practiced corporate entrepreneurship and failed with a new venture.

To complete the Application:

  • Read the case study, “Euro Disney: Bungling a Successful Format”.
  • Answer the following question: “What was Disney’s fundamental flaw in its Euro Disney development process?”
  • In answering the question, please focus on the root causes and avoid analyzing the end results of the venture.
  • Use APA style to complete the Application and when citing sources.

  • Reflect on the assigned readings for Week 1 and then type a two page paper regarding what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding.  Define and describe what you thought was worthy of your understanding in half a page, and then explain why you felt it was important, how you will use it, and/or how important it is in project management. After submitting your two page paper as an initial post in the “Reflection and Discussion Forum,” then type at least two peer replies in response to your classmates posts (200 word minimum each).

This quiz covers any material covered from 1950’s – present and films The Graduate, Do the Right Thing, Alien, & Pulp Fiction, Moonlight and This Film is Not Yet Rated.

You need to search for some knowledge about cinema or review some movies.
Answer the questions. Each question is a short paragraph.

11.  If Horror films ask “Oh no!” and Science Fiction films ask “What if?”, discuss (2) reasons why the film “Alien” is considered by many to rest in both genres:  (1 for horror & 1 for sci-fi).

12.  After a sharp decline in movie attendance in theatres in the 1990’s, what are (3) ways Hollywood shifted it’s focus to remain profitable?

13.  Since the opening of the Sundance Film Festival in 1985, there has been a forum of support for independent cinema.

How is a film categorized as “independent”?

Provide an example of one.

How has Hollywood become involved in the marketing of these films?

Each paragraph should have one clear point or question, and all the sentences within the paragraph should be supportive of the main point. Primary information on the writer or the text, such as a plot summary, should not be included. Instead, the response papers should be venues for the expression of original and creative ideas and readings.

Students are free to write about what they liked or disliked in the text, what they think the main point of the text is, and if they agree or disagree with the approaches of the text.

Students also should demonstrate that they have read ALL of the required readings for the week. When citing a passage from a text, indicate the page number in parentheses at the end of the sentence.

Posting: So what do you think will happen in the 2020 election? Options Menu: Forum
This could very well be the most open-ended question Ive ever asked of students of political science.  Over 20 Democratic candidates, a sitting President who makes me want to throw out my government textbook since what he did (and does) continually defies so many norms, proven Russian meddling in 2016, with the possibility of deep-fake misinformation coming down the pike and from more than one country wanting to influence how we vote in 2020, possible impeachment hearings of the President during the whole thing

See all the variables there?  There are very VERY many of those.  So lets talk about them all here, in hopes of answering an on-the-face simple question

1.    Read Chapter 9 carefully, especially the section describing campaigns and elections.

2.    Go to the DISCUSSION BOARD forum called So what do you think will happen in the 2020 election?

3.    Answer the question in at least 200 words, citing specifically-quoted material from Chapter 9 and any online sources you want to use as well.

Critical reading evaluation
1. A brief summary of the key points brought up for you in the readings (first paragraph), no more than 100 words.
2. Three seperate theses/claims and present a supporting argument for each (in three
paragraphs). Better include a references. Go with the statement, reason, evidence ( counter argument, rebuttal)
Whole paper no more than 600 words.

The following are the general criteria by which the CREs will be
evaluated:
Summary of key points is relevant, accurate, succinct and clear
Evidence and depth of thinking
Comments, analyses, and arguments are insightful and well-structured
Organization, clarity (grammar, sentence structure, coherence, etc)
