Current events exercise (5% of Participation grade)
Due: Three students will present at the start of each class
At the start of each class, three students will present for five minutes (3-minute presentation; 2 minutes for questions) on an aging policy related current event (within the past 30 days) from local, state, national, international news sources. A current event is an important topic that is covered/discussed by the news media. The assignment dates will be posted after the class roster is finalized. If you arent planning to attend the course session when you are assigned to

present, you may send a recording of your current events presentation. The content you are expected to present will be discussed on the first day of class. Your current events discussion will be evaluated using the following rubric:

Summary is clear, complete, and
accurate. The main points are addressed and clearly linked to aging and aging policy.
A clear evaluation of importance of the event to older adults and aging policy is clear and complete. Multiple valid examples are applied and extended to support the response. Specific link to policy makers OR policy makers are named in the discussion.
