After you have viewed the historical and technical lectures and watched the selected clips head over to the discussion board and take part in the Week 7 discussion topic.
When answering the discussion boards posed topic, it is important to make your answer as specific and insightful as possible. Remember generalities and vagueness do not demonstrate to the instructor that you paid attention and fully comprehended the presented subject matter. A direct correlation will be drawn from the precise and direct nature of your response to the grade you receive for your response.
Full credit (5 points), partial credit (4-1 points), or no credit (0 points) will be assessed for the weeks required discussion board post. To be considered for full credit, each response must consist of at least one fully developed paragraph of at least 80-100 words that directly focus on the topic to which you have been asked to respond. A rubric will be used in the grading of the assignment. A copy of the rubric can be found below as well as in the Course Documents folder. Discussion Board-Rubric.pdf
It is expected that students will behave in a professional manner when communicating with one another and the professor on the discussion board. Likewise, please keep in mind that this is a higher education course and as such there are certain guidelines that need to be followed when conversing and posting within the course.
No use of profanity.
No text message short hand (i.e. U r should be you are).
Refrain from using all CAPS (many believe the use of all capital letters is rude as it can be interrupted as being virtually shouted at).
Be respectful. It is understood that not everyone will share the same beliefs or opinions as you. However, it your job to maintain dignity and respect all views. Do not become indigent. Just because someone thinks something different than you it does not mean that he/she are wrong and you are right.
Online learning much like face to face learning can at times be frustrating but try to maintain composure and behave in a professional manner. Avoid using sarcasm.
Discussion board responses must be posted during the week in which the discussion topic was assigned. Late responses/posts will not be accepted. All discussion board work must be posted by 11:59 p.m. (U.S. Eastern Time) on Sunday of Week 7 in order to be considered for credit.
Choose a Topic to reply to (you only need to respond to one Topic Subject, not both). Click on the Topics Thread within the Discussion 4 Forum. Hit the reply button below the Topic Statement to add your contribution to the thread. After you complete your initial post you must respond to another students post in the Topic forum. When responding to another students post, make sure to hit the reply button that is directly linked to his/her post, not the reply link for the main forum topic.
