For this essay, my professor wants five-paragraph essay (introduction that ends with a clear thesis, three body paragraphs complete with transitions and topic sentences, and conclusion) in which you explore some theme from the novel.  This should be a clearly written and well organized document in which you demonstrate that you’ve read and thought about the book. Make sure, too, that you provide ample textual evidence.  3-5 quotes per body paragraph is a good rule of thumb.

Hello class,

We are reading stories by Louise Erdrich, Leslie Marmon Silko and Sherman Alexie, and reading an interview of Scott Momaday…

Write a five paragraph essay (double spaced) where you compare characters from the storires. That is, choose the main character

or another character (one from each story — three characters. Now compare them. Also bring into your essay the Scott Momaday

interview, which will serve as some background material and research. This is analysis, research, creativity, plus you. Add one or two

short quotes. With comparision papers, we look for common ground. Pick the big and important — the significan stuff. Name names,

give details, be accurate. Comparative/synthetic thinking is a valuable skill in critical thinking and creativty. This is five paragraphs

with double spacing, great title and thesis, the works…. Please be sure to post the Tutor.com review at the same time as you post

the essay. it’s all posted right here on Discussion Board on or before April 8. The two tutor requirements in this course equal

10 points toward your final class grade, no exceptions. So please do not ask me about any deviations from the tutor requirements.

As Nike says, just do it.
