The Final Project is the major documentary writing project for the course. Each student will create a thorough packet of materials for their documentary idea that will include a formal pitch to the class, synopsis, research materials, a transcribed interview (either as research or to be included as part of the documentary), a treatment, and a detailed outline or dual column script. Additionally, a reference documentary will be presented before the formal pitch. The work for this assignment should have the planned result of a documentary film that runs from 10-20 minutes in length.

*Reference Documentary Screening Choice-Select short documentary that inspires you/connects to your idea.

*Logline- 1-2 sentences

*Synopsis- A descriptive summary of your documentary. Feel free to include references to the actual production elements involved in the crafting of your piece. Length requirement is 250 words minimum.

*Research Summary- A list of resources, in the style of a bibliography, that you have used, or plan to use, to help shape and inform your project. 5 sources minimum.
Reference list that includes articles, books, films, podcasts, websites, etc.

*Interview Plan- A plan for an interview subject. Who will you be interviewing and what will you be asking them? Be prepared to explain a clear purpose for including the person in your project.
