ASSIGNMENT INTRO

OUTLINE: 

This assignment requires you to write a 2500 word Essay on a chosen topic related to contemporary theatre practice. The focus of the work should be on scholarly investigation rather than simply gathering information, and this will be used to answer your set questions. Your research could be focused around an area of practice related to one practitioner or company, though its important that you dont simply produce a biography. It is imperative that you choose a research topic that is achievable within the time frame, but that is also of interest to you as you will spend a lot of time working on it across much of semester 2. 

ASSIGNMENT TASKS:

You will write a 2500 word essay relating to your chosen topic. The word count does not include large quotes or your bibliography.

Your writing should use relevant academic language, and correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Proof read your work carefully.

You must use Harvard Referencing throughout, ensuring you identify all sources of research (not just direct quotes) 

You will be required to keep your tutor informed of your progress during tutorials, and you will be expected to submit at least 2 drafts throughout the semester.

Present your paper double spaced, Arial font size 12, The essay should have a clear front page with your name and student number, course title, module name and code, tutor name, and the essay title. 

Include a full bibliography. 

Submit the completed essay on 23rd April. This will be required digitally via email. The digital file must be titled using the following format: your name, module code, (assig number) description of work e.g. Smith, John RP2101 (assig 2) essay.doc.
