Assignment 8 should contain the following sections: Brief Text, Desire (Motivation), Behavior Management, Select, Organize, Associate, Regulate, and Strategy Instruction.

Provide a brief text (2-4 pages) from a book or article. You can also create your own text. (1 point)
Describe the things youll do specific to your lesson to increase motivation using the desire component of DIFS. (3 points)
Describe the things youll do specific to your lesson to prevent off-task behaviors from occurring. (3 points)
Provide two instructional aids that help students select the key text ideas. Complete the selection aids as well. (4 points)
Organize all key ideas using graphic organizers (especially matrices) as needed. (5 points)
Associate ideas (internal and external). Provide all the important internal associations and several external associations using a variety of association techniques (examples, questions, and mnemonics). (5 points)
Regulate information by creating at least 10 test items with answers. Designate the learning outcome as fact, concept, or skill. Be sure to follow good item writing procedures as provided by Chapter 5 and by the Gronlund readings. (5 points)
Demonstrate strategy instruction for one of the SOAR components. Write out the teachers exact words in italics as a strategy is taught. Be sure to include and label all four strategy-instruction components. (4 points)
