Make sure to include supporting references for your statements. They should be relevant to what you are seeking to accomplish.

The first academic response paper will be in response to the 2003 film “Shattered Glass,” starring Hayden Christensen, Peter Sarsgaard, and Chlo Sevigny.,General instructions:

This paper should begin by briefly summarizing the film and its major themes.

Then, focus on a single aspect rather than attempting to address the entire video. Overall, provide a strong and thoughtful analysis and clear communication of your ideas.

You may pick ONE of the following prompts to respond to:

What newsgathering rituals, media routines, or other underlying influences on The New Republic’s staff allowed this to occur?

Why are Stephen Glass’ fabrications such a big deal? (It won’t be enough to say that he lied or made stuff up We need you to go deeper.)

You are going to explain the film content following class lectures, readings, and experiences from your own life. The purpose is to help you process the class content and integrate this knowledge with your own experiences. Look for connections, contradictions, or confrontations between what youre watching and our class conversations and/or your textbook. When possible, apply them to personal or current events. When providing a response, its usually going to be appropriate to write in the first person we want to know what you think and feel about the assertions youve just viewed.

Finally, write a conclusion summarizing and advancing your overall critical thoughts very briefly.

The paper must be your own and all information and ideas from other authors must be adequately cited and referenced.

CHAPTER 4: Small Business and Entrepreneurship: Assignment

Chapter Written Assignments: At the end of each chapter there is Video Case Project. Please provide a one to two-page paper on the topic. This work should include an opening paragraph clearly restating the questions (DO Not simply copy the questions). Then apply at least one complete paragraph on each of the topics, followed by a closing or summary paragraph. Cites and structure should comply with APA v6 style. Each assignment will be worth 25 points.

Assignment must be submitted via the Canvas drop box before the assignment closes. This work will be reviewed by TurnItIn for a similarity check and no work over 25% will be accepted. Do not email me your work if you miss the drop box closure.

Each assignment will be worth 25 points, for a total of 375 points.
Again, assignment postings should consist of a minimum of five complete paragraphs with a minimum of five sentences each. The following Link will provide you with some refresher of the five-paragraph model (Links to an external site.). Cites and structure should comply with  APA v6 (Links to an external site.) style.

Please apply the Critical Thinking rubric to your work. A Rubric will be used to review your assignments, look for changes and additions to the course and the Syllabus.

CHAPTER 4: Small Business and Entrepreneurship: Discussion

There will be a discussion question or topic based on the “Chapter Questions” located at the end of each chapter. Please pick one and develop a line of thought to discuss.

The discussion question are open at the course beginning and close on the due date and time. No late work will be accepted. You can earn 25 points a week by participating in the discussion board. You will be graded on the quality of your responses, answers or questions, not merely on the fact that you participated. Please apply the Critical Thinking rubric to your work. Your posting must be Substantive:

– Providing a new thought, idea or perspective
– Citing and experience or example of what we are learning
– Adding a new twist on a perspective
– Critically thinking about an idea/concept
– Questioning or challenging a principle or perspective

I do NOT consider these types of comments to be substantive

– Very basic comment such as I agree or I disagree
– Simply restating what has already been said unless there is a direct purpose in doing so
– Disrespectfully disagreeing
– Pat answers that are not thought provoking
– Use of unedited dictation software comments

To receive the 25 points, you must do two things, First, reply to the posted question worth up to 5 points, and Second, reply to at least two (2) of your classmates responses worth up to10 points each. The discussion board is meant to take the place of the normal in-class discussion that you have in a traditional class structure. Each posting and reply should consist of a complete paragraph of a minimum of five sentences. I will be using a rubric for grading of discussion boards so please expect some changes to the syllabus as the semester progresses.

According to Furman and Gruenewald (2004) social justice is a critical-humanistic role for school leaders. The critical-humanistic role is one that (a) assumes that schools are inherently value laden, (b) engages in an analysis of school structure for inequalities that result from unequal power relationships, and (c) works to overcome these inequalities.

After reading Chapter 8, closely Examine Table 8-1: Equality of Opportunity Matrix. For this discussion, you will

  • Reflect on an educational program or school you have worked at or have yourself attended, and describe where it lies on the quadrant (the name of the school or program is not necessary).
  • Describe the characteristics of the school/program and explain why those characteristics support your placement of the school/program in a particular quadrant.
  • Through the lens of a school leader, discuss the importance of social justice, social capital, and how both relate to equal protection.

Use standard formatting with:

  • Double spacing,
  • 11 or 12 point font (Times, Helvetica, Calibri, etc.),
  • 1 inch margins,
  • No more than 1 inch of space dedicated to title and header,
  • No extraneous space between paragraphs or headers.

Choose one question and answer 6-7 pages:

  • Explain the logic of religious politics and political religion (Putnam et al)
  • Explain the logic of the civil rights movement lectures
  • Explain the American model of religion lectures (Putnam et al)

Competency

Evaluate principles of ethics and leadership.

Scenario

You are a mentor teacher, working with co-teachers at All Kids Childcare and Education. Your program has started a new initiative to help teachers better incorporate and celebrate diversity. You are excited to showcase the strategies a few of the teachers are already using.

However, as the training begins, one teacher comments, “Diversity is not a priority in my classroom. Almost all of the children are from the same ethnic background.” You look around to see several other teachers nod in agreement.

Instructions

First, reflect on your own leadership style as it pertains to this scenario in a reflection paper written in a Word document.

  • Describe the leadership style that fits with your personality and how you can use your leadership style to determine your steps for opening a broader conversation regarding diversity. Use outside resources to make connections and offer at least one example to illustrate your ideas.
  • Articulate the correlation between your leadership style, developmentally appropriate practice, intentional teaching, and an appreciation of the inherent benefits of diversity. Use outside resources to make connections and offer at least one example to illustrate your ideas.
  • How can you effectively combine these elements in a way that enables you to listen and appreciate diverse perspectives, yet remain focused on the task of leading teachers through diversity training? Use outside resources to make connections and offer at least one clear example to support your ideas.

Next, leverage your articulated leadership style in the reflection above to create a mini-mentoring session. At least 10 questions for teachers should be included. These questions should assist teachers in reflecting on the cultural competence of their planned activities and the learning environment. Additionally, include any behaviors or actions you will use as the mentor, as well as a full description of the purpose of a cultural competence checklist. Include your mini-mentoring session as part of your reflection above.

Finally, assist teachers in creating a cultural competence checklist using your questions from above as a guide. Reflect on what components the checklist should encompass, and create a cultural competence checklist that teachers can use to evaluate the cultural competence of their planned activities and the environment in which they will conduct those activities. The checklist should be completed in Word and contain at least 10 indicators of cultural competence as well as a way for teachers to rate the progress of this indicator. Offer clear directions for how to use the selected rating system.

  • Examples: Pictures/posters portraying families of multiple structures, ethnicities, and abilities are displayed. Ample multicultural play manipulatives are offered in the dramatic play center.
  • Note: A rating system for the indicators can include but are not limited to yes/no check boxes, space for educators to leave specific comments, a rating scale, or another method.

Submit your leadership style reflection as well as your cultural competence checklist.

Please the following to paragraphs and answer replies. They should be thoughtful and supportive with references.

1.Prototyping is in itself a self-sufficient mechanism to collect system requirements and can take two forms, evolutionary and throwaway. The main benefit of prototyping is the development of an information system that more closely fits the needs of the organization (Huston, T.H. & D’Ouville, E. L., 1988). A prototype is a basic working model, mock-up or a simple simulation of the product which leads us to create a minimal viable product to final product and variations (Entrepreneur, 2018).

While, evolutionary prototypes are generally turned into a full working production system at some point in time, the throwaway prototypes, as the name suggests, are discarded once they meet the initial purpose they were created for. Agreed that there may be some cases where throwaway prototypes dont even serve the purpose for which they were created. However, after having spent so much resources and effort on these prototypes, which met initial purpose, is it justifiable to discard them? If so, under what conditions it makes business sense to discard these prototypes?

2. My post this week will not be too verbose as I have had a perplexing question (that I have some opinions on, but I’d like the thoughts of the class) that has been a theme for these discussion posts throughout this course.  After reading both chapters this week I appreciate the needs for systems requirements and data flow diagrams.  I understand the benefits of both; The outcome of a detailed requirements analysis is that the organization reaps the benefits of selecting best-fit software (Doig, 2015).  However, the thought that has captured my curiosity is what are the costs to an organization for poor systems requirements, and/or data flow diagrams?  For example; An unclear product spec can add millions of dollars in manufacturing costs (Redman, 2013).  Aside from monetary impacts, what other types of impacts does shoddy work do to an organization?

In a separate document, write a 12 paragraph email to your chosen provider in which you professionally comment on their online reputation.

Commend the provider on the positive aspects of their online reputation.
Describe how a provider’s reputation supports the health care organization’s professional reputation and supports marketing and growth of the organization.
Make recommendations to improve or enhance the provider’s online reputation and/or to broaden their reach.
If your provider is not a part of a larger health care organization, state this, and provide the hypothetical response you would offer if they did belong to a large health care organization. Explain how this provider’s reputation would affect the marketing strategy and positioning of the larger organization.

For this part of the assignment you will present the results of your study.  Next you will evaluate what your findings mean.

Results

Data analyses:  Present results without discussion.

For Qualitative Studies:

Present results in a way that answers the research question(s).
Review published articles that use similar designs for examples on how to present qualitative findings.
Ensure that no identifying information is included.

USE THIS ******chapter 5 of the APA Manual, 6th ed. provides information on how to present results.

Evaluation of Findings

Use this section to describe what your findings mean.  Your discussion should tie the findings to their practical use given the problem or issue that you identified in Chapter 1.  Some discussion should be included as to whether or not the results were expected and also should provide explanations for unexpected results.
