No…it’s not an alien invasion, it’s much worse…humans…

As we wind down our course, we will be covering the topic of ecology. This a very broad field that studies the interaction of organisms with their environment, be it the aphid living on your rose bush or us humans.

For your main post, I would like you to look specifically at humans and our relationship with the environment. Please start by picking one of the ecological topics below and discuss our human impacts on the environment in regards to. Please be sure to give a summary/introduction to the topic, is it helpful/harmful and why, examples of it/what causes it, the environmental impact, and for those that are harmful to the environment, what are some ways to offset the damage? Next I would like you to calculate your household’s carbon footprint and share it with the class (you can Google search “carbon footprint calculator” or use this website). How do you compare with the national average? Please make sure to include proper references (including the carbon footprint calculator you used) and in-text citations in APA format.

So, are humans really helping or just destroying the planet? It’s up to you to decide…

This week, we broke the vocation of healthcare into three distinct components of ministry: Ministry of Presence, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Action.

Addressing ONE of the three questions below, write a 1-1.5 page, double-spaced, DR. (Be sure to engage with / cite our textbook):

(1). Can you think of a time when you engaged in active listening, in or outside of a healthcare context? What were the results? Lastly, why is active listening a crucial part of practicing the Ministry of Presence?

(2). The book presents a rather detailed 5-part description of what it means to practice the Ministry of Word. How would you more simply define what it means to do so? Can you think of a moment when you practiced the Ministry of Word in a healthcare context, or with a friend, colleague, or family member? What were the results?

American pop culture influence in uk

I am presenting a speech on pop culture influence in the uk, with a powerpoint to follow. If you could maybe add some more detail to the speech that would be great. I will put my rough draft and my powerpoint below along with the guidelines

You are required to speak for 5 full minutes.  You will be timed in class. 
You are required to present a minimum of 5 slides, plus the a title slide.  Please use Power Point for your presentations.
Remember, the general rule is that it will take you one minute of speaking for each slide you present. 
The title slide should include the title of your presentation, your name and date.
At the end of your 5 minute presentation, please be prepared to take a couple of questions from your colleagues about your presentation during the question and answer portion.
You should verbally cite a minimum of three sources.  You are not required to submit a bibliography.
You are required to wear appropriate business casual dress.  No jeans, sneakers, UGGS, or other leisure attire.
Consider using large note cards, rather than using 8 1/2 x 11″ paper.
You will have a clicker.
You may use videos but your video should be between 30 – 45 seconds.
Remember, this assignment requires for you to be a speaker and also an active listener.  The questions you draft to participate in the Q&A will be part of your grade.
