OSHA has identified four categories of hazards that account for more than 50% of all construction fatalities:
Falls (36.5%)
Struck by object (10.1%)
Electrocutions (8.6%)
Caught-in/between (2.5%)
The assignment is to write a research paper involving one of these four construction hazard categories. You may narrow your topic down to a more specific type of accident within the major category. For example, under falls, you could focus your research on falls from ladders. When writing the paper, consider the following questions:
What are the common causative factors?
What does data indicate?
What are the effective proven corrective measures?
The submission must be a minimum of three pages in length, not including the title page or reference page. A minimum of three scholarly reference sources must be used from the CSU Online Library. Scholarly sources include:
peer-reviewed journal articles (Click here to access a webinar outlining peer-reviewed articles.)
safety reference books and textbooks, and
other publications by safety professionals and organizations (print or online).
Note that wikipedia.com, answers.com, ask.com, about.com, and similar broad-based Internet sites are not considered scholarly sources. Use government and professional safety-related sources, such as osha.gov, niosh.gov, asse.org, nsc.org, and nfpa.org. Contact your professor if you have any questions about the validity of a reference source.
APA format is required. Be sure to use in-text citations for direct quotes and paraphrased information.
Day: August 11, 2020
Imagine that a group of physicians who are planning to open a single-specialty group practice has hired you as a consultant. Your job is to advise the physicians in creating a business plan that includes management strategies that will help ensure their success. The physicians have stipulated that the plan must promote medical excellence and limit their exposure to risks associated with the practice of medicine and the operational functions of the practice. In addition, they are aware that a public health emergency or natural disaster could have had a significant impact on their practice, and want to include a strategy for emergency preparedness as part of their plan so that they will be able to manage their patients and help serve the community as needed.
Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:
Compare and contrast the two (2) main levels (i.e., internal comparison and external comparison) of financial benchmarking. Next, analyze the strategic purpose of each level of benchmarking and specify the overall importance of benchmarking as a financial planning tool for a medical practice.
Recommend a Health Information Technology (HIT) system that includes an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for the new practice to implement. Support your recommendation by determining three (3) main benefits of having this type of system for the practice.
According to the text (page 368), some of the main areas of risk exposure for a group practice include: property (general liability and safety), technology, and financial practices. Determine one (1) specific hazard associated with one (1) of these risk categories and propose a strategy to mitigate the impact this risk could have on the practice. Support your analysis with a real-life example.
Determine the main functions of the practice that will need to remain operational before, during, and / or after a natural disaster or public health emergency. Next, suggest a strategy that the practice should take to maintain communication with employees and patients, secure patient and financial records, and ensure that resources will available to care for patients during a disaster or emergency. Provide a rationale for your response.
Use at least three (3) quality academic resources. Note: Wikipedia does not qualify as an academic resource.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
Typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the students name, the professors name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
Include a reference page. Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.

RESEARCH ARTICLE ANALYSIS PAPER GUIDELINES
Use the article that I submitted
Use APA format and style for the paper. Include an accurate reference page and title page.
Use headings/subheadings (following APA format for them) to set off each area of your paper in accordance with the guidelines for each section addressed below (e.g., introduction, selection of the research interest area, etc. would each be a heading).
The paper should be 8 to 10 pages in length. Quality and depth trump quantity.
You must address each area listed under the guidelines below to receive a successful score on your paper. Points will be deducted for each item omitted.
See the scholarly paper rubric for scoring.
Paper Format and Content Guidelines:
1. Introduction
Explain the general purpose, scope and depth of your paper (what it will cover).
2. Selection of Research Interest Area
Explain briefly how you chose the article upon which you will focus in this paper. What clinical experience, question or other interest led you to choose this article? Describe the authors and the citation for the article chosen and explain how it can be pertinent to your learning goals.
What was the research question(s)/ and/or hypothesis(es)?
3. Overview of Research Design
You will explain an overview of the research the article. Was the design- correlational,
experimental, grounded theory (for example)? Find out what the authors say about their study design and explain it here.
Is the study design appropriate to answer the research questions proposed?
4. Foundation for the Studies
Explain the theories and/or conceptual models the researchers used to guide the study, if any.
Is the literature review reflecting the state of the science on this topic presented in a logically organized manner? Do the authors discuss supporting as well as opposing studies or information?
Does the literature review for the article seem adequate in depth and breadth? Is it clear how the research study flows or fits into the body of work the literature review describes? Will the research presented be a good contribution to the body of knowledge on this area of interest?
Do the researchers offer hypotheses about what they will find? Do they discuss hunches of what they might find or expect to see based upon theory or other research?
In the hypotheses or research problem statements, what independent, dependent and/or other variables are identified? If a qualitative research article is used, what are the phenomena under investigation?
5. Conduct of the Research (Each item must be addressed)
What was the population of interest and the sample size? How was the sample selected or recruited? Do the researchers describe how they chose the specific characteristics of the sample, the specific sample size or why?
What were the principles of measurement used? What measures were used (questionnaires, photos, abdominal girth, lab values)? If instruments are used, name those specifically. If a qualitative study — what methods were used to solicit or capture information?
What were the specific data collection methods? Was the data collected quantitative or
qualitative in nature? How were the participants measured, assessed or interviewed, at what times were they measured, how were the data captured and stored? Do participants have access to the data or the findings of the study?
How were the rights of the participants upheld and protected during the conduct of this research?
For example, how was their anonymity preserved? Was there any risk to them during the conduct of the study or afterwards? How were they informed of this? Could they refuse to have their data included even after they participated? Is there institutional review board approval documented?
Were there any problems with the methodology of these studies?
6. Analysis and Reporting of the Research (Each item shall be reported for both articles)
Once the data were collected and stored, how were the data handled? What data analysis methods were reported?
If a quantitative study, what types of statistics were used to analyze the data (descriptive, inferential) explain?
If a qualitative study describe the analysis steps reported by the researchers.
What generalizability, reliability and/or validity issues do the researchers report? For qualitative research, what are the other factors the researchers discuss (e.g. truth value, auditability).
Were the conclusions from the research clear? Explain.
Were any ethical issues raised in the conduct, analysis and/or reporting of this research?
7. Usefulness of the Research
What do the researchers claim is the significance of their findings for nursing practice, for further nursing research, for nursing education, and/or for nursing theory development? Do you agree with their assessments, disagree? Explain.
If you wanted to know more about this research, how would you contact the researchers?
What level of evidence does this research represent?
What are some appropriate ways you can use these research findings? Explain.
8. Conclusion
Write a summary paragraph explaining what your paper was about and the key points you want
your reader to remember upon concluding your discussion of this research.
9. References
APA format Please utilize the Sample APA Template for all of your scholarly papers found in Course Resources and in the Scholarly Paper assignments in Canvas
Include citations for the research article you selected and any other articles you used to assist you with the research critique process.
Includes at least 4 references from current peer reviewed nursing journals; or 2 from journals and 2 from reading or a reliable education, government or organizational website. These four references do not include the ones for the article. (5 total).
10. Do not use quotes from any source or author. The use of quotes just tells us what the author/reference material states. Cite properly using APA Style for any references used in discussion. This allows your colleagues to locate the information. This also eliminates plagiarism.
Please respond to the following: 1-2 paragraphs. Then respond in one paragraph to the additional post.
One of your continuing clients has engaged you to conduct a wireless assessment and penetration test of their infrastructure. Your client has asked you to brief them on the methodology you will use and the tools you would select to complete this engagement.
Briefly, lay out your proposed methodology with a brief explanation of each step and any tools you would use to support a given step.
Once that section is completed, respond in one paragraph to the post below. State if you agree or disagree and the reasoning why. You may also add on to the conversation.
Post:
I would start by explaining to the client why a wireless assessment is necessary. Wireless assessment point out the factors that could be impacting the performance and functionality of your system. Next, I would point out how coverage and capacity design and how access points are distributed throughout your environment. We also would look into the environment and what is happening around and within it that can affect wireless performance. Also, I would explain the physical installation including the mounting and orientation of the access points and antennas plays a role in performance and will require review. Further investigating I would explain how their cabling infrastructure that supports the access point back haul to the network is critical to performance and also merits an inspection. I would further request an overview of switching infrastructures that handles the traffic from the access points and clients onto the network. Thereafter, I would focus on explaining the WLAN design and configuration that administers the system will be looked at. This includes the channel arrangement, power settings, data rates, number of broadcast SSIDs and other factors that have an impact on the performance of the system. We also consider integrated components as well as network services like DHCP and DNS that are critical to the support of optimally performing Wi-Fi.
