Write a script (fiction or creative non-fiction) for Virtual Reality that addresses the criteria, outlined below:

NOTE: Your script will be inspired by the concept of family.

Assignment 1 in its totality will be between 1200 and 1500 words (typed, double spaced, 12-pt font).

SCRIPT CRITERIA:

Describe your audience: their age, their interests, their role in the story. Active? Passive? 3 marks, 100 -150 words

Describe the technology / platform: What is it? Is it an AR/VR, ap, installation, game, goggles, tablet or phone-based experience? (etc). 3 marks, 100 – 150  words

Describe the setting/visual style of your story: Where is it? What kind of world or environment? Style of graphics? Realistic or not? 360 cinema or computer graphics? Also, provide a sample image to give us the general idea. 3 marks, 100 – 150 words, plus sample image.

Write the actual scene – including the action, story events, environmental cues, & dialogue. What happens in the scene?  What environmental cues will you use to get your audiences attention? What is said? If there is no dialogue – your action description should be more detailed. 11 marks, 1,000- 1,200 words

Think about the connections between your stated audience, your chosen technology, and the content of the story itself. All of these things should suit one another. Also consider that in VR, you strive to create a sense of “presence,” or of “being there.” How will you do this? What cues will you use (sound, light, movement, etc.) to create action in the story & control where your audience/user looks?
