Leadership is when you motivate a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal. Management is the coordination and administration of tasks to achieve a goal. I honestly feel as if anybody can become a manager but it takes a strong person with integrity to actually lead. The difference between leaders and managers is that leaders have people that follow them and managers have people who work for them. Some management skills are interpersonal skills, communications, motivation, organization, problem solving and mentoring. Some leadership skills are communications, motivation, trustworthiness, positivity, commitment and feedback. Both leaders and need to have communication skills and motivation.
Leadership and Management can be similar but different. Leadership is the ability to lead an organized group in a successful manner. I feel in order to be in a leadership position you have to have many characteristics as in being inspiring, motivating and having that can do personility. Positivity is a must in the leadership position, no one wants a leader who doesn’t even believe in himself. Management is the ability to coordinate, as a manager you need many characteristics as well. Some are being well organized, good planning skills and hardworking. As a manager you’re trying to reach a goal for a person or business. These are a few of the differences you have between management and leadership. I have also noticed some similarities as well like they both plan to lead a group for success. In management and leadership you’re in control of a person or organization so all eyes are on you. They both have similar characteristics like, hardworking, organization, dedication, and well rounded. As a leader and manager you have to be at the top of your game because the business realizes it.
