Leading a learning organization

A learning organization is one that is skilled at creating, acquiring and transferring knowledge and at modifying its behavior to reflect new knowledge and insights.  Organizational learning is a critical component of competitiveness in a dynamic environment (Wheelen, et al, 2018, p. 13).

Now that you have completed external and internal scanning for the business in your case study, reflect on what you have learned about the importance of environmental scanning.

Imagine that you are a strategic manager at the company you have chosen to write about and the CEO really likes the external and internal scanning you have done.  He/she thinks you have created an excellent business case study.  Now, the CEO has asked you to speak at a company meeting to summarize for all the employees the current challenges, opportunities and threats facing the company today.  Write a convincing paper that represents your one-page summary of where the company is today regarding the challenges, opportunities and threats it is facing (for this essay you should set aside the companys strengths).  These are the problems you will focus on in the second half of the course and this one-page essay will serve as a transition in your final Strategic Case Analysis paper between your business case study and your proposed solutions to those problems (what we will learn in the second half of this course).

Include at least 3 key terms and/or concepts from the textbook, underline them in your essay, and frame the context of your essay by connecting the key terms and/or concepts into an overall creative theme (or a few themes).  Your paper should be approximately 1 page, 12-pt font, 1 inch margins, and double-spaced.  Note that since this should be your summary in your own words, you should not use any references and citations in this particular essay.
