During this course you will complete a series of projects that will help you understand the components of a research study. You will do this by writing a proposal that supports the extension of a previously published research project. (You will not actually conduct the research; you will be developing a short proposal that explains the need to extend the research.) Using the ACM database in the Library Portal, find a study related to an area of Information Security that you are interested in to be the basis for your projects for this term. The study can be quantitative or qualitative, but needs to address a problem that you are familiar with. In the conclusions of the study, it should indicate areas for further research. In Part 1 of the project, you will write a short introduction to the research proposal (2-4 pages) which includes the following:
A description of the problem that was addressed in the selected studyA description of the study population and the sampleA summary of the previous findingsA description of an area of research suggested by the author for further research. An explanation of why this extension of research could be important or how it might yield more insight into the problem.

WRITE A RESPONSE TO THE FOLLOWING POST:

Over the course of history researchers have studied the health care industry to determine plausible advantages or disadvantages of managed care and its policy. Said research has helped the community to understand segmentation, managed care, and their relationship. Managed care positively influences the health care industry by offering consumers a broad array of services, promoting organizational advancement (Elrod & Fortenberry, 2018), and reducing the risk of liability. Managed care protects both consumers and the health care industry by ensuring quality of patient care and adequate medical treatment to consumers. Managed care improves access to services and ensures affordable costs to consumers.

Historically, the health care industry developed plans considering the needs of employers with no consideration to the needs of consumers. Once the plans were developed, the health care industry used marketing strategies to sell said plans to employers (Tootelian, Mikhailitchenko, Holst, & Gaedeke, 2016). Consumers were forced to choose a plan regardless of the cost or benefit.

The health care industry has now changed tailoring plans to benefit the consumer and giving consumers freedom of choice. Consumers have become involved in their treatment, health care options, and empowered to select managed care plans that satisfy their needs (Tootelian et al., 2016). Employers still have the ability to select managed care plans offered to their employees but the health care industry is now forced to create managed care plans that appeal to both employees and employers (Tootelian et al., 2016). The health care industry has changed significantly for consumers affording them the possibility to choose a health plan that satisfies their needs.

Students are free to write about what they liked or disliked in the text, what they think the main point of the text is, and if they agree or disagree with the approaches of the text. Each paragraph should have one clear point or question, and all the sentences within the paragraph should be supportive of the main point. Film Critique/ Create a 400 word film review supported by the research you do below. Critically review and discuss the impact of the movie on the genre of film. Identify and Reply to a classmate’s post .

33 unread replies.22 replies.Review of a professional movie critics review of a movieIn this assignment you will be REVIEWING A MOVIE REVIEW written by a professional movie critic.  The purpose of this assignment is for you to exercise your critical thinking skills by assessing someone else’s critical thinking skills.  FIRST, you will choose a movie that your really love or that you really hate.

THEN, do on online search for a movie review written by a professional critic — look to sources like newspapers —The New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle, magazines — The New Yorker and Film Comment, and internet sites —Prodigy and Slate.   These are excellent sources of professional movie reviews.  You also may use the database on RottenTomatoes.com to find a professional movie critics review.

Choose from one of these sources or from any other professional movie critic.

DO NOT USE personal blogs as your source.  Use the work of a professional movie critic from a professional, well-known source, and it needs to be review of the movie, not a plot summary.

How do you know the difference between a plot summary and a movie review?  Plot summaries are short (sometimes a page or less) and are written in order to provide basic information about the film, usually order to entice you to see a film.  Plot summaries summarize the storyline of the film; they do not critically analyze the film.  Movie reviews are more lengthy and they will analyze different elements of the film, including plot, characters, acting, cinematography, directing, costume, set, lighting, editing, etc.

SO REMEMBER, a movie review is not the same thing as a plot summary.

  1. Choose a movie you really love or a movie you really hate.
  2. Then find a review of the movie written by a professional critic.
  3. Print out a copy of the review and  have it available in electronic form .
  4. Identify two points the critic makes about your movie with which you agree and two points the critic makes with which you disagree.
  5. Copy and paste these points into your discussion post and turn each one into a bullet point

Do not write an essay.   Just create a bullet point list and write explanatory text  about the points  you are presenting.
