Based on the video provided: extracting information primarily from minutes 34:27 to 43:30 from former Police Commissioner McCarthy, please write a One page Single spaced with Normal margins- Reaction Paper, based on the information you interpreted from him.

Focus on the relationship as to WHAT TYPE OF POLICING did he personally SET FORTH in CHICAGO, during his tenure. Next using some ancillary information from other presenters who chose to use statistics, explain the goals this presentation delivered for crime prevention through crime analysis.

After reading and watching the items following these assignment instructions, analyze the importance of the learning transfer process. In your paper, write a compelling summary to a CEO analyzing why the transfer of learning process is important using it in each area discussed this week.
It uncovered a quite different story, the employees wanted:

To feel valued and that they are recognized for a job well done.

To make a difference for others

To have the opportunity to learn and grow through education and experiences

To have good balance among their professional and personal responsibilities

To be included and to be able to be appreciated for diverse thought, and

At the end of the day, feel satisfied, fulfilled, and enjoy what they do.

After knowing what the WIIFM is for the employees what are your suggestions for Tim? Remember to use limitations of memory, cognitive overload and diminished learning when answering the Why? for the learner.

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

Learning Transfer

We have established that organizations invest in learning to address business needs and opportunities. Learning objectives are, in effect, business objectives. In solid organizations usually there are systems in place to set, measure, monitor, and reward achievement of business objectives. We usually do not find those same systems in place for training and development.

Talk to any group of laymen or professionals about what s broken in the current learning and development process, and most will tell you its the lack of serious post – training follow – through (Zenger, Folkman, & Sherwin, 2005, p. 30).

D4 states high impact learning drives the transfer of learning back to the work of the enterprise. They do not leave it to chance or individual initiative. Instead, they put in place systems and processes to actively encourage and manage the transfer process. Learning transfer is the process of putting learning to work in a way that improves performance.

In the chapter on D4, we introduce the concept of learning scrap and the high cost of doing nothing to ensure learning transfer. The elements that define the transfer climate and determine the results that training ultimately delivers is fully explained. We review what it takes to improve performance and discuss breakthroughs in the management of the learning transfer process made possible by technology.

Take a minute and watch Josh Kaufman talk about how to learn anything and think about how this can help trainers make the learning transfer happen.

The papers should provide your comments and reflections on the readings and be submitted onto Harvey BEFORE each class. You should 1) summarize the content in all assigned readings; 2) give your comments; 3) and connect to your own experience and case project. Everyone, it seems, has a favorite place to eat. For some, it is a fast-food restaurant like McDonald’s, Burger King or Taco Bell. Or it may be a diner like Denny’s or an ethnic restaurant like El Torito, Panda Inn, or Olive Garden. It may be a restaurant that serves large portions, like Hometown Buffet or Claim-Jumpers, or that serves specialized food like Red Lobster or Ruth’s Chris Steak House. It may be a fancy restaurant like l’Orange or a small, independently-owned caf. It may be a place such as Benihana’s known for its atmosphere, or it may be eating at home or a friend or relative’s house. We like these places for many reasons including the type of food served, the decorations and setting, the atmosphere, the music or entertainment available, or even the price of the food.

Please discuss your favorite place to eat. Be sure to describe the location and explain why you enjoy eating there. Use examples and details to support your reasons

Industry Classification

The first part of this section is defining the industry that your company fits into

and is an important macro identification. A valid test of the industry definition is

the answer to the question “with whom does your company compete?” Be careful

that the definition is not too narrow. For instance in the finance industry, Charles

Schwab is a discount broker and they obviously compete with other discount

brokers like Quick and Reilly and Fidelity. However, they also compete against full

service brokers and deep discounters.

There is also a risk of defining the industry too broadly. For instance, total retailing

in the U.S. is over $2 trillion a year. This includes everything sold to a consumer–

groceries, automobiles, fast food, clothing, etc. There are sub-sections to the retail

industry and these provide a better definition since they are consistent with the

criteria cited above regarding which companies compete against in the market.

Hence, it would be incorrect to identify your company as part of the hospitality

industry.

Explain the structure of the industry and identify the dominant companies. Who are

the current players, their products, their strengths and weaknesses? A chart (which

is located in the Appendix of your paper NOT within the body) showing the relative

size of dominant companies compared to your analysis company is often a good

idea.

Size and growth

Again, you are not looking at the hospitality but the subset of that industry to

which your company belongs.

Financial performance in this section deals with the industry and not your specific

analysis company. How has the industry done in recent years and what are the

projections for the future. The Value Line publication analysis is a good source for

this type of information as are trade publications that are devoted to the specific

industry. This is another opportunity to use a chart to show financial performance

of the industry over multiple years. Do not deal with quarters but focus on annual

performance.

Government regulations

Again, looking at the industry what are the important government regulations (if

any) that the industry is being forced to examine. Again, NOT the hospitality

industry.
