Students will read Jesus Behaving Badly by Mark L. Strauss and write a five-page book response (5 full pages, double-spaced, 12 pt font, 1 margins).

State the bibliographic entry at the top of page 1.
The “bibliographic entry” at the top of page 1 is simply the bibliographic data of the book in its proper format (you can see this on the syllabus, p. 1). A formal book review always begins with the book’s bibliographic data. It should look like this with the book title italicized:
Strauss, Mark L. Jesus Behaving Badly. IVP, 2015.

Then, respond and interact with five of the 12 chapters in Strauss book (chaps.
11 & 12 are required; other 3 are your choice).

You are to interact & engage the issues… not summarize… your thoughts to the issues and Strauss perspective… pros & cons… strengths & weaknesses…

Please note in parentheses (not footnotes) any pages from which you cite or base your remarks.

Book Responses will be graded according to form, style, and content.

Please proofread, edit, and refine your work before submitting it.

In Research Project: Leader Selection you will identify two leaders to research for the project. Select two historical leaders (non-political) with one having made a positive contribution in a leadership role (i.e., effective leader) and the other having made a negative contribution in a leadership role (i.e., ineffective leader).

The leaders selected should be contemporary, non-political figures in history (post the year 2000).

You are encouraged to select leaders along the lines of your perceived leadership self-assessment results from Module 1; which serves as an overview of your leadership style. You should select a well-known (non-political) leader that has plenty of data/research detail rather than simply selecting leaders that you have heard of or have researched in the past. You will use the Library and other reliable sources to assist in building your research project.

The leaders selected should be contemporary figures in history (post the year 2000).

Please review the information on the Research Project page for detailed instructions for the research paper prior to selecting your chosen leaders. Post the leaders you have chosen in this discussion area. Additionally, give a brief summary (50 words or less) for the direction you would like to take with this project.

One of the great college football coaches, Lou Holtz, took five failing college football teams to a bowl game within two years of becoming the coach. He stated that the keys to success include first, Do your very best, second, Do right and third, Treat others as you would like to be treated (Do Right, 2006).

Coach Holtz backed up his commitment to these values, e.g., when two first-string players were late to the team dinner for the fourth time, he sent these players back to South Bend even though his team, Notre Dame, was playing USC in one of the biggest games of the season (Lundy, 1994).

Provide answers to the following:

Thinking through the implications of a leaders decision, compare and contrast an example of a leader demanding the higher standard (doing whats right) and a leader that does not demand, doing what is right.
Considering the four leadership styles, judge how your examples can teach leaders on attitudes used when developing a leadership style.
Explain the impact of each leader’s behavior on their respective organization in relation to the three levels of moral development.
In relation to the Pygmalion effect for your example, have standards increased or decreased in the past few years? How do we know?

Due in 18 hour.

Use the following Financial Planning Case as the case study for this week. Be sure to answer the three questions asked using material within the chapter and at least one other source.

In a recent month, the Constantine family had a budget deficit, which is something they want to avoid so they do not have future financial difficulties. Jason and Karen Constantine, and their children (ages 10 and 12), plan to discuss the situation after dinner this evening.

While at work, Jason was talking with his friend Ken Lopez. Ken had been a regular saver since he was very young, starting with a small savings account. Those funds were then invested in various stocks and mutual funds. While in college, Ken was able to pay for his education while continuing to save between $50 and $100 a month. He closely monitored his spending. Ken realized that the few dollars here and there for snacks and other minor purchases quickly add up.

Today, Ken works as a customer service manager for the online division of a retailing company. He lives with his wife and their two young children. The familys spending plan allows for all their needs and also includes regularly saving and investing for the childrens education and for retirement.

Jason asked Ken, How come you never seem to have financial stress in your household?
Ken replied, Do you know where your money is going each month?
Not really, was Jasons response.
Youd be surprised by how much is spent on little things you might do without, Ken responded.
I guess so. I just dont want to have to go around with a notebook writing down every amount I spend, Jason said in a troubled voice.
Well, you have to take some action if you want your financial situation to change? Ken countered.

That evening, the Constantine family met to discuss their budget situation.

See Attachement

Requirements:

What situations might have created the budget deficit for the Constantine family?
What amounts would you suggest for the various categories for the family budget?
Describe additional actions for the Constantine family related to their budget or other money management activities.
