Discussion Question:

Considering the various learning styles and education levels of your selected community, explain your selection of teaching materials. How do they cater to or possibly impede the audiences receptivity to the shared health education information?

Your initial posting should be 400 words in length and utilize at least one scholarly source other than the textbook

There was a mistake in entering grades on Canvas. We need your help writing a Python script that can help us maintain the class roster. The functionalities you need to implement are explained below. For each of the functionalities, you may want to implement a separate function.

Adding a student to the roster:

When you receive the add NAME GRADE command, you need to add one student with the name NAME and the grade GRADE to the roster. For example, add Simon 20 will add Simon to the roster and his grade will be 20. If the entered grade was greater than 100, or if the students name is already on the roster, then dont add the student to the roster and instead print Failed to add NAME, with NAME being the name of the student you were asked to add to the roster. If adding the student was successful, you will print Added NAME, with NAME being the name of the student you just added.

Updating the grade of an existing student:

When you receive the update NAME GRADE command, you will have to check if the student with the name NAME exists in the roster and if the new grade entered is greater than 100. If the name exists in the roster and if the new grade is not greater than 100, update their grade to GRADE and print Updated NAMEs grade with NAME being the name of the student. Otherwise, if the name doesn’t exist in the roster, print NAME does not exist in the roster or print “Failed to update NAME’s grade” if the grade is greater than 100.

Printing the roster:

When you receive the print command, you need to print the entire roster in the output in the same order that you added students to the roster. For example, if we have {Narges: 0, Benedict: 1} on our roster, it will print: Narges: 0 Benedict: 1

Removing a student from the roster:

When you receive the remove NAME command, you will have to check if the student with the name Name exists in the roster. If so, delete the name from the roster and print Removed NAME with NAME being the name of the student. If the student doesnt exist in the roster, then print “NAME does not exist in the roster

Exiting the program:

When you receive the exit command, you will terminate the program and stop receiving inputs from the user.

Directions:

  • Print out and cut out the attached element cards so that they can be arranged and organized.
  • Read through each of the element cards you are given. Look for similarities between the elements and create groups that have the most similarities.
  • Within each group, try and arrange the elements in a logical way.
  • Show your arrangement of all 12 elements by drawing a table and writing the letter of each element in the cells of the table. (create a column for each of the groups you sorted them into)

Questions:

1. What similar properties did you use to form each group?

2. Within each group, how did you decide to organize the elements?

3. Based on what you have seen about periodic properties, predict the properties for the element that would be in the same group as element T but with higher mass (i.e. it would sit below element T on the periodic table).

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that addresses the following scenario and questions:
Your aunt recently received the annual report for a company in which she has invested. The report notes that the statements have been prepared in accordance with “generally accepted accounting principles.” She has also heard that certain terms have special meanings in accounting relative to everyday use. She would like you to explain the meaning of terms she has come across related to accounting.
Go to the FASB website and access the FASB Concepts Statements and use the IASB website to respond to the following items. (Provide paragraph citations.) When you have accessed the documents, you can use the search tool in your Internet browser.
Explain how “materiality” is defined by both FASB and IASB.
The concepts statements provide several examples in which specific quantitative materiality guidelines are provided to firms. Identity at least two of these examples. Do you think the materiality guidelines should be quantified? Why or why not?
The concepts statements discuss the concept of “articulation” between financial statement elements. Briefly summarize the meaning of this term and how it relates to an entity’s financial statements.

Post: The article about Medical Taylorism brings up a lot of valid concerns about how performance indicators and process management improvements do not always result in positive change. Taylorism and Lean six sigma are process improvement methodologies when executed correctly have many benefits to efficiency when applied to the right environment. Taylorism and Lean process have no place in medicine because faster is not always better. In medicine, certain things require time to get it right. Just as the article was hinting to a physician and patient relationship takes time to develop and time to be great. If a physician is rushed in return rushes the patient, they will not able to build strong communication which is required for optimal patient care.[1] The result will be lower patient satisfactory scores and possible a decline in health. An example of how the Lean process had a negative effect was during implementation at two emergency departments in Canada. Nurses and physicians described the results of the process improvement poorly. They said the reconfigured EDs disrupted their established practice routines and resulted in the intensification of their work.[2]

Another reason why Taylorism fails is the feeling of unnecessary pressure it puts upon the employees. Historian Hugh Aitken describes the first work rebellion against Taylorism in the 1900s. Molders went on strike and walked out because they resented being watched and timed by strangers as they worked. Taylorism was then studied and under scrutiny by a special committee formed by the government. They concluded that Taylorism has a dehumanizing effect on workers. When things need to be so exact and autonomous it removes the ability for innovation and growth. [3]

Taylorism and Lean process do have their place in making things better. Certain tasks can be standardized and made more efficient when it is analyzed systematically and analytically. Tasks that we do day in and day out without thinking can always be improved to be better and faster once we realize the amount of waste we are contributing.
