The CDC is proposing to train public health professionals nationally on improving Influenza A prevention strategies targeting particular high-risk groups in the state. In order to prepare for next year’s flu season, the CDC needs to identify the locations where possible mass vaccination clinics need to be set up.

You are the head of a nine-member public health committee at the state public health department. You need to present the proposed data analysis design to the public health department chair. Your proposed data analysis design should include the following:

  • A proposal for the research design.
  • A sample, methods, and data analysis strategy that you would use for this study.
  • Specifics of your research.
  • Updated estimates on the number of influenza cases and related hospitalizations and deaths in your state in the previous years.
  • An analysis of data by geographical area.
  • An analysis of data by demographics.
  • Key flu indicators and their prevalence in your state.
  • Recommendations on the locations of future clinics.

Do you remember how you felt, as a small child, when you missed the person to whom you were closest? Have you observed a content baby starting to fuss or cry when handed to a stranger? Are you surprised how vividly you, or other adults you know, remember events from early years that involve separation or loss? The powerful implications of early attachments continue to draw researchers from such various disciplines as child development, early childhood education, clinical psychology, pediatrics, sociology, and anthropology. The more we learn about attachment, the more we come to understand not only its far-reaching effects on human development but, also, the many faces of attachment in the early years.

This week, you studied various forms of early attachment, the importance of secure loving relationships for healthy development, and the long-term consequences of problematic early attachments. For a visual reminder of early bonding and attachment behaviors, review the course media for this week.

From the following variety of topics/concepts related to attachment, select one that attracts you strongly and/or stirs your curiosity:

  • Synchrony
  • Secure attachment
  • Social referencing
  • Attachment and prosocial behavior/empathy in young children
  • Attachment and emotion regulation in young children
  • Attachment and the development of spirituality in children

Next, conduct research on your topic/concept:

  • Search the library for scholarly articles that provide further information about your chosen concept.
  • Search the Internet for additional resources.
  • From all resources you reviewed, select three that you find most relevant. At least two sources must be from scholarly journals.
  • Study and reflect on the additional information you found.

By Day 3

Post:

  • A brief description of the concept you chose and why you chose it
  • Citations for the three resources you selected, in APA format
  • At least one insight, fact, or new learning from each of the resources
  • A personal reflection including:
    • Anything that surprised you and/or dispelled an assumption
    • The additional information you found important, noteworthy, and/or unusual

Instructions

This week, you focused on scope, stakeholders, and project management knowledge areas.  Your assignments concentrated on activities required to initiate and plan a project.  Scope constraints have a major impact on healthcare and project management.

For this assignment, you will create project goals and scope, the first of the key components of a Project Management Plan, by identifying a problem in your community, an issue in a healthcare organization you currently work for or are affiliated with, or select a project topic from case studies from the Institute for Health Improvement.

Be sure to address the following:

  1. Provide a brief background of the problem
  2. Offer the rationale for choosing the topic or case study
  3. Describe the need to apply a project management approach to solve the problem
  4. Discuss the pros and cons of applying this project management approach to this problem, and
  5. Describe the project goals and scope

It is recommended that you use the project management plan template as a guide that is attached.  You will also use this template for your Week 2 and Week 8 assignments.

Length: Include a minimum of 3 pages not including title page and reference page.

References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly articles.

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.

Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards.

One of the pieces must relate directly to the Western art music tradition and the other piece may or may not relate to this tradition. The choice is up to you, but you may not use pieces discussed as examples in a module or that are LGs. You may use new pieces by composers discussed in class.

For your Module 4 Blog entry you must:

Embed the YouTube videos so that your instructor may access the music directly. (2 YT videos total)
Provide the title of the piece with its corresponding composer and/or performer (for example, Symphony no. 7, movement 2, Allegretto; Ludwig van Beethoven; London Philharmonic) as text in your entry. (2 titles and composers and/or performers total).
For EACH YouTube piece articulate (1) how the YouTube piece relates to the module topic; (2) what type of meaning the piece holds for you or other audiences (for example the reason why you chose the piece might be linked to a personal meaning or a larger cultural/political/philosophical meaning); and, (3) how is the meaning described above linked to sound in particular (read: musical elements). Feel free to use Wikipedia to investigate the pieces, but NEVER plagiarize or quote text from outside sources consulted on the pieces. Any information regarding the pieces in your entries must be written IN YOUR OWN WORDS. You will receive an automatic zero-grade for the Musical Meaning Blog if you plagiarize text from an outside source.
You must address the 3 questions above in 300 to 400 words PER YouTube piece. This means for each 1 of the 3 Blogger entries you will need to write 600 to 800 words.
Once you have completed an entry in your MMB, publish your blog. Click on view and then copy that URL. Please make sure the URL does NOT have the word “editor” in it: if this is the case, your Blogger page has not been published and can only be viewed by you, the creator. Go back and publish it. Then click on view to copy the URL. Never click share to copy your URL because you need a Google + profile to do this. If you are using a limited Blogger profile you will not be able to do this.

Overview.
Experiencing intercultural communication happens beyond a classroom. For this assignment, you will have the opportunity to engage with and learn about a culture at CSUN that is different from your own and one you know very little about. Get out of your comfort zone. Choose something that is not easy. Brainstorm a culture you will study for the semester. A culture that is different than yours, that you rarely interact with (or maybe never), has had a history of conflict with a culture you belong to, misunderstood by a culture you belong to, etc. You have many possibilities and opportunities. Learn something new.
Research.
In these series of papers, you will conduct research about the culture. Research means you will find articles, books, journals, videos, documentary, and more. You are required to research through experiencing the culture first hand and engaging with the group=ethnography. You will observe the people, behaviors, communication, and patterns. Does it reflect the research that you find in the books, articles, media, etc.? This is your field experience. This means you will observe AND engage/ participate with this culture not just as a bystander. Talking to one person from a different culture does not count as the minimum of engagement. Observing and talking to a group of more than 3 is what I am expecting. Some options include: attending a meeting, event, ritual, or spend time at where people from the culture hang out/meet, or occupy a cultural space. As you do your field experience, you will also support your understanding of the culture through library research. There are various ways you can engage with a cultural group, the first step is to research and explore the campus.

For paper 1, you do not need to engage with the culture just yet. You will write your first paper based on knowledge that has been communicated to you and additional research (from current events, books, magazines, and articles) you will conduct about that culture. If you have a chance to engage with the group, you can include that in your analysis. 2. You must have read chapters 1-4, participated in the discussions, and watched lecture videos to better understand, analyze, and apply concepts pertaining to the culture.
1.    Paper 1 requirements: o Choose one focused topic relating to what we have covered. Focus on one bullet point: ! Relationship between communication and this culture:
2.    Focus on 1 aspect of this culture and analyze a specific part of that culture using the 3 definitions: (anthropological, cultural studies, and globalization definition from Chapter 1). For example, beauty standards of this culture, religion, marriage, relationships, what it means to be that culture, etc. What do you know and/or heard about this culture? Are the meanings associated with them shared (anthropological) or contested with your culture or across cultures? How has this communicated to you? ! Explain the impact on (economic, political, and/or cultural) globalization. Describe the historical contexts surrounding the movement of this culture in the US (globally) and CSUN (locally). What is the historical relationship between this group and other groups (particularly the dominant cultural groups or your group)? ! Body politics: Impact of race and white privilege in this group; How is age, gender, and/or sexuality of the people you interacted with shaped their views and experiences (in the university and on a larger scale)? ! Cultural Space: Describe a cultural space(s) this group occupies at our CSUN campus or the surrounding community. What meanings are attached to this space and people? How is this space segregated and/or integrated? How is this cultural space hybrid- negotiated, transformed? Remember to focus on one topic and elaborate. I do not want you to answer all the above bullet points. You can focus on one question under the bullet point and elaborate. Explain, elaborate, give examples from your research or experiences. o Works Cited page with a minimum of 6 sources: ! Five primary, sources outside the book. Since you do not know anything about this culture, the information must come from somewhere. ! One Course reading ! Properly cite your sources. Include it within your text and on a Works Cited Page.
