An essential component of working together is that each member of the group must bring something to the team. Throughout the course, you will be conducting research and sharing your findings with your marketing team. You should conduct your research through the lens of your role on the marketing team. Your resource can be a website, reading, article, video, or anything that will help your team successfully complete the recommendations component of the Consumer Behavior Report. (Link will open in new tab.)

To complete this discussion board post, each team member must do the following:

Identify a resource that relates to your role on the team and the topic of recommendations.
Reference the title of your resource (cite it in APA format).
Provide a summary of the resource.
List 3-4 key ideas contained in the resource that address the topic and your role (Pricing Specialist) on the team.
List 3-4 questions and/or things you are confused about with regard to key ideas, claims, and conclusions.

Attachment is for reference. Target client is Disney Land.

Background Research (3% due midnight October 4th): You are to prepare a brief summary of key information from 3 research articles related to the ways leisure/recreation can be a resource for coping with stress and/or enhancing health and wellbeing, e.g., for promoting resilience, improving mood, enhancing sense of belonging, etc. Prepare a summary of research evidence for each of the 3 articles, that includes summarized key points/facts from the article that provides evidence of how leisure/rec can contribute to student coping, 2
health/wellbeing. Each summary should: begin with the article citation (APA 6th ed format), use bullet points to summarize key points/facts, be approx. 1/2 page, and 1.15 spacing. (See Appendix B Part 1 for grading rubric) (3%)

Critical Thinking: Decision Tree
The supplement to Chapter 5 (page 225) in your textbook describes and develops several decision trees.

Address the following requirements:
Q1: Develop a decision tree for the case described.
Q2: Explain the process of developing a decision tree, draw the decision tree (include the decision tree in an appendix showing chance nodes, probabilities, outcomes, expected values, and net expected value).
Q3: Defend your final decision based on your decision tree.

Case for considerationAn operations manager for a cereal producer is faced with a choice of:

A.    A large-scale investment (A) to purchase a new cooker which could produce a substantial pay-off in terms of increased revenue net of costs but requires an investment of 3,750,000 Saudi Riyal. After extensive market research it is thought that there is a 40% chance that a pay-off of 9,375,000 Saudi Riyal will be realized, but there is a 60% chance that it will be only 3,000,000 Saudi Riyal.
B.    A smaller-scale project (B) to refurbish an existing cooker. At 1,875,000 Saudi Riyal, this option is less costly but produces a lower pay-off. Again, extensive research data suggests a 30% chance of a gain of 3,750,000 Saudi Riyal but a 70% chance of it being only 1,875,000 Saudi Riyal.
C.    Continuing the present operation without change (C) which cost nothing, but produces no pay-off.

Structure:
–    Introduction + talk about decision trees
–    Introduction for the Case above
–    Body (to discuss and answer the above Question: Q1, Q2, and Q3)
–    Conclusion to summarize the paper
–    References

Directions:
–    This assignment is related to Chapter #5: in the book (here is the link)
–    The essay should be 4 or 5 pages in length, which does not include the title page and reference pages.
–    Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
–    Follow APA style guidelines.
–    Plagiarism should be less than 25%.

Answer the following questions about your assigned article: 1) Please provide reference page 2) Article is provided in the additional materials box.

1) What is the study design and type of the article (descriptive, correlational, quasi-experimental, or experimental)? What is one strength and one weakness of this study design?
2) What is one element that could have been controlled better to improve the validity of the study? (review threats to the four types of validity statistical conclusion, internal, construct, and external).
3) What was the specific sampling method used in this study? Were the inclusion and exclusion criteria clearly explained? Were the sampling method and inclusion criteria appropriate for this study?
4) Was power analysis or effect size (in QuanTitative studies) or data saturation (in QuaLitative studies) reported to verify the adequacy of the sample size?

Applying anatomy and physiology perspective on the human body, you will be writing about the functions of critical cells and chemicals in the skin. To get introduced to some of those cells and molecules, we will review a few resources on one of the lesser-known skin functions: immune defense. Irma Gigli is a dermatologist (skin scientist) and immunologist (immune system scientist) who formerly led the department of dermatology at UC San Diego’s medical school. She is from Argentina and overcame numerous challenges in her career, including visa issues that forced her to leave the United States. Dr. Gigli is one of the first researchers to have explored the immune system functions of skin cells and wrote hundreds of articles on that subject, as well as articles on other skin system topics.

1) Please click the document to read the biography of Dr. Gigli from the book “Notable Hispanic American Women,” by Diane Telgen (p. 177-178).
2)  Then, click this link ( https://ecrcommunity.plos.org/2015/06/05/just-skin-deep-your-immune-system-at-the-surface/  )  to read a summary of immune system/skin interactions from PLOS (Public Library of Science).  Pay special attention to information on the skin’s layers and types of skin cells. While this article was not written by Dr. Gigli, much of what is known in the article is a result of research Dr. Gigli performed.
3) Finally, please take a quick look at the abstract of one of Dr. Gigli’s articles by clicking here        ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC443264/  )  This includes some terminology that is a beyond our goals for Bio 40A, but it serves as an opportunity to see an example of some important original research.  Do NOT worry about understanding the whole abstract or looking up unknown words.  Instead, simply try to look for whichever words you might have heard before and what the broad ideas might be.

After reviewing these resources, write a reflection with your responses. You might wish to discuss any or all of the following topics:

1)  What was most interesting or most confusing about the these resources?

2)  What can you learn from these resources regarding the cellular composition of the skin and the molecular/physiological activities in the skin?

3)  What do these resources tell you about the types of people that do science?

4)  What new questions do you have after reviewing these resources?

The answer should be at least 350 words in length and focus primarily on the chapters you choose from the poem. There is no need for an introductory section on 1920s culture generally and you will not receive credit towards the assignment for providing one.  You will be graded on: (1) whether or not you include analysis of both characters, (2) whether or not your analysis takes into consideration both the reactive and novel aspects of the characters with regard to female identity, (3) whether or not you identify the specific passages in the text that illustrate your arguments, and (4) the quality of the argument made for why those passages illustrate your arguments.

Recall a clinical or personal challenge that you have faced, such as an illiterate patient or defiant patient. Knowing what you know now about critical thinking, how would you approach the situation differently?
How might you have approached it when you were less experienced?

Include two, scholarly, in-text references.  One must be from your assigned text. Conceptual Foundations (2020)

Research the health-illness continuum and its relevance to patient care. In a 825 word paper (title page, headers, and references not included), discuss the relevance of the continuum to patient care and present a perspective of your current state of health in relation to the wellness spectrum. Include the following:

1. Examine the health-illness continuum and discuss why this perspective is important to consider in relation to health and the human experience when caring for patients.
2. Explain how understanding the health-illness continuum enables you, as a health care provider, to better promote the value and dignity of individuals or groups and to serve others in ways that promote human flourishing.
3. Reflect on your overall state of health. Discuss what behaviors support or detract from your health and well-being. Explain where you currently fall on the health-illness continuum.
4. Discuss the options and resources available to you to help you move toward wellness on the health-illness spectrum. Describe how these would assist in moving you toward wellness (managing a chronic disease, recovering from an illness, self-actualization, etc.).

Use at least 3 scholarly sources. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is not required.

What is expected: A discussion on the importance of the health-illness continuum in relation to health and the human experience in patient care is presented. The discussion demonstrates that the health-illness continuum is important to patient care. Strong rationale is offered for support. A thorough explanation of the relationship between the health-illness continuum and the ability of a health care provider to promote the value, dignity, and flourishing of patients is logically and convincingly presented. The explanation draws clear connections between the role of the health care provider and the promotion of human flourishing. Strong rationale is offered for support. A well-developed discussion of personal state of health is included. The discussion demonstrates strong personal insight into behaviors supporting or detracting from health and well-being. The author clearly establishes where personal health falls on the health-illness continuum. Options and resources available that would be extremely helpful to help the author move toward wellness on the health-illness continuum are presented. The author clearly establishes how these will assist in moving toward wellness. Insight into wellness as it pertains to the health illness continuum is demonstrated. Thesis is comprehensive and contains the essence of the paper. Thesis statement makes the purpose of the paper clear. Clear and convincing argument that presents a persuasive claim in a distinctive and compelling manner. All sources are authoritative Sources are completely and correctly documented, as appropriate to assignment and style, and format is free of error.

Answer the following TWO questions:

1. Both Domingo Sarmiento and Jos Mart grappled with the question of what
direction should be taken by the independent nations of Spanish America. In
his writings, offered what we might call plans for the future of his countries. These plans were based on specific visions of the identities of the nations they hoped to lead. Compare and contrast how these two authors addressed the question of identity in the works we read for our class.

2. When different cultures come into contact with each other, they often judge that the other culture is superior or inferior to yours. Using our readings from The vision of the vanquished and the True Story of the Conquest of New Spain from Bernal Daz del Castillo as benchmarks, discuss how the Spanish
and the Indians evaluated the value (or lack of value) of the other’s culture
