Then create a timeline of the controversy in your post.
(It may be useful to use the Smart Art function in Microsoft PowerPoint (click on the insert tab, SmartArt, Process, and choose a template that resembles a timeline. After the timeline is complete, click on save as and change the file type to an image format, such as JPEG, and save the slide.)
For some activities in your timeline, you may find it necessary to look online for the year (or decade is fine) when something specific was discovered or something happened.
Include the following in the timeline. Note that listing the decade rather than year is acceptable.
Before it was a controversy, what was the conclusion accepted by scientists? In the timeline just label it as before [year/decade]
When did this become a controversy? In a few words, name why it became a controversy (e.g., scientists completed a new investigation; scientists proposed a new way of looking at the phenomenon).
Include a series of blocks on the timeline for the development of various evidence. Briefly describe the evidence and which side of the controversy it corresponds.
Note that most of these videos primarily describe just one side of the controversy. Do some research to find evidence for the other side.
Cite your sources
When was there consensus among scientists regarding the controversy? Briefly explain the consensus and why scientists came to a consensus.
