For this discussion, imagine that you are designing a 4-hour leadership development training session. Identify specific learning objectives for your training session. Conduct an Internet search to identify the types of games and business simulations that are available. Select one game or business simulation appropriate for your audience and learning objectives. Provide a brief description, detailed rationale, and thorough analysis of the game or business simulation as it pertains to your specific audience and learning objectives. Do not simply cut and paste from the Internet source.

Your initial post should be 250 to 300 words. Use this weeks lecture as a foundation for your initial post. In addition to the Blanchard and Thacker (2013) text, use at least one additional scholarly source to support your discussion.

During this course you will complete a series of projects that will help you understand the components of a research study. You will do this by writing a proposal that supports the extension of a previously published research project. (You will not actually conduct the research; you will be developing a short proposal that explains the need to extend the research.)

Using the ACM database in the Library Portal, find a study related to an area of Information Security that you are interested in to be the basis for your projects for this term. The study can be quantitative or qualitative, but needs to address a problem that you are familiar with. In the conclusions of the study, it should indicate areas for further research.

In Part 1 of the project, you will write a short introduction to the research proposal (2-4 pages) which includes the following:

  • A description of the problem that was addressed in the selected study
  • A description of the study population and the sample
  • A summary of the previous findings
  • A description of an area of research suggested by the author for further research.
  • An explanation of why this extension of research could be important or how it might yield more insight into the problem.

Essay One: Explaining a Concept

The idea with this assignment is to write a detailed explanation of your chosen concept.  Someone reading your essay should come away with a richer, more nuanced, more complete understanding of your concept.  Recently, I’ve had students write successful papers about “artificial intelligence,” “data science,” “mindfulness,” “leadership,” “generational difference,” and “universal basic income” — just to give you an idea of topics that have worked with this assignment.  There are really countless possibilities with your topic, and if you have one you’re unsure about and want to run by me first, please do that.  I want you to feel good about your topic before you begin writing.

The formal guidelines for this essay can be found throughout Chapter 4 of your textbook, but page 149 in particular offers a detailed overview of how to write this paper. Please note: this essay must make use of a minimum of two relevant, credible sources; please follow all MLA guidelines for formatting and mechanics (link: ).  Also, include a properly formatted “Works Cited” page.

Required length: 1250 to 1500 words.

Being able to solve equations and evaluate formulas is extremely important and will enable you to solve many problems in business such as solving proportion problems, solving cost-volume problems, and recommending actions using cost analysis. In this Assessment, you will write an equation and apply it to a business setting.

For this Assessment, you will write a one-page, four-paragraph essay explaining an equation you will develop. Your essay must be carefully planned and written using well-constructed sentences and paragraphs. Make sure that your grammar and spelling are correct. Points will be awarded for content as well as composition. Your essay must be a minimum of one page in length with standard 1-inch margins and is required to have at least one reference from a reliable source. This means that you cannot use sites like Wikipedia, Ask.com, and Yahoo answers and that only references from reliable sources will earn points. All resources should be cited both as an in-text citation as well as being listed on a reference page in APA format.

Equations are around us in everyday life. For example, if you have $45 at a baseball game and you go to the concession stand for hot dogs and hamburgers, and hot dogs are $4 each and hamburgers are $6 each, how many of each can you purchase? There isnt just one answer.

Your Assignment is to create your own equation in a business setting. Present the equation in an essay type format.

In the first paragraph, introduce your equation, tell what your variables represent, and tell what the equation represents.
In the second paragraph, present two solutions to your equation.
In the third paragraph, discuss how and when equations are used in business transactions and give at least two examples.
In the final paragraph, state your conclusions.
