QUESTION 2
Write a bash script that monitors in real time the sizes of regular files in a specified folders. The folder name should be provided as an argument when calling the script. The folder must exist in the same working directory where the script is located. Ensure that the script is properly called with an argument. Then monitor the file sizes and log in a separate file the timestamp and the name of the file when its size goes above 4Kbytes. In such a case, archive and backup the file with the timestamp as part of the archives name and replace the file with a new and empty one. Exclude the log file from the monitoring. To test the script, manually create a folder with a mixture of sub-folders and files. When the script is running, open the files in your test folder and be adding content to it to increase the file size and check if your script could monitor the changes. (You are free to automate the testing). Properly comment your code.

QUESTION 3
Write a bash script that automates the creation and deletion of user accounts. The script should accept as input argument, a file containing a list of user names to be created on the system. Enforce that the user provides this input file while executing the script. The script should check if the usernames already exist on the system before creating the accounts. If a user account exit, the script should notify the user and skip that user name to the next one. Make sure to create a home directory as well. When the input list has been exhausted and all the user account created, output the content of /etc/passwd file and /home directory to the terminal for verification. In a next step, the script should ask if user wants to delete the newly created accounts? If yes, the script should delete the accounts including their home directories and output again the content of /etc/passwd file and /home directory for verification. If no, the script should terminate with appropriate message. This script is to be tested/executed as a root user. Properly comment your code.

In this integrative essay you will have an opportunity to integrate the course materials through the three modules. The focus will be on health care systems and include topics covered in the course. This is a managerial focus and your role is a health administrator.

Students will be responsible for an essay in the form of a proposal to fund a new public or private health program or significantly modify an existing one. Developing this proposal will enable students to explore and develop a health issue in depth, with the potential to integrate their work into actual management.

The proposed program may be based on an area of interest with which you are familiar from past or current work experiences, or you may select an area in which you hope to gain future experience. You should draw from personnel working in the field, case studies illustrating the problem, and literature discussing the subject area in detail in order to develop your program plan. Though the actual program may never be implemented, the proposal must be feasible, realistic, relevant, and in some way connected to an actual group, program, or organization.

The paper is to be NO MORE THAN 10 pages long excluding attachments and Bibliography , typed, double-spaced, and with proper footnotes and bibliography. It should follow a commonly accepted format such as APA (Amer. Psychological Assoc.),MLA (Modern Language Assoc.), etc., and be consistent throughout. Footnotes may be placed on a single sheet at the end of the paper. The paper should include an Executive Summary of no more than one page. You are to use several external references. Only one of those references may be from the popular press or a textbook. All material must be properly cited. Of course, all work must be done by you and original for this course. Plagiarism will result in a failing grade
GRADUATE LEVEL WRITING.  PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Students will select a specific human services organization and prepare a report on the overall management and administrative function including philosophy, structure, programs, etc.  The focus should be how human resources functions and how human resources should be a strategic player in the human services agency.  (If you work for a human services organization, you may select your current organization, but a formal letter of permission should be acquired).

Research should be gathered from meetings with managers at the selected human services organization, podcasts, organizational publications, and/or other published material.  The project is to be individually completed.  This is a policy analysis paper and not an employee analysis paper.

Since no surveys or individual interviews are required, nor will be conducted with employees, the Saint Leo Institutional Review Board (IRB) process will not be necessary.  However, if any human subjects are involved in the analysis of the program, then a proposal will be sent to the IRB at Saint Leo University for approval before any research is conducted using human subjects.

One or two pages that summarize the topic selected by the student.  The Topic Memo has three purposes.  (1) The Topic Memo helps the student begin planning for data needs, sources of information, and structure of the Final Report.  (2) The Topic Memo encourages the student to identify a human services organization that they will study.  (3) The Topic Memo provides an opportunity for the instructor to review and approve the students topic.

REQUIRED TEXT
Pynes, J.E. (2013). Human Resources Management for Public and Nonprofit Organizations. 4th Ed. San Francisco, CA: Jossey-Bass. ISBN-13: 978-1118398623 (paperback).  ISBN-10: 1118398629.  ISBN 978-1-118-46032-0 (SPDF).  ISBN 978-1-118-46034-4 (ePub).

In accordance with a schedule printed at the end of this document, you should prepare concise (maximum 6 double-spaced typed pages, standard margins and 12-point font size) papers which include four key elements: 1) summary and analysis (e.g., strengths & weaknesses) of a primary-source empirical article related to personality psychology that I assign, 2) tie-in between the article I assign and a concept from the assigned reading that we discuss in class, 3) relationship between the article I assign and a recent news story that you find on your own (attach a newspaper clipping to your paper), and 4) some connection of this topical area to your own life and personal interests. These elements must be enumerated in your papers.
Basically, these papers require you to digest a study related to personality psychology and to connect it to the assigned reading, to current events, and to something about yourself. Feel free to be creative about how you meet these objectives. I expect these papers to be highly varied, colorful, thoughtful and well written. Make sure to have fun with these papers!
