The concept of organizational culture refers to the shared beliefs, norms and values that employees have within an organization. Organizational culture can be described as the foundation of the strategy. Therefore, in order to successfully develop and execute a strategy, an organization should try to align its strategy with its organizational culture. Additionally, the initiatives and goals of the employees should reinforce and establish a culture which takes into account the strategy of the organization.

Moreover, organizational culture plays a significant role and influences the organizational strategy. Culture can be considered as the medium through which the organization interacts with both its external and internal environment. Therefore, we can conclude that the terms culture and strategy are essentially compatible.

As mentioned above, organizational culture refers to the shared beliefs, norms and values within the company, which means that employees have a shared system of meaning i.e. words and behaviors, which forms the relationships of the individuals, mutual understandings and their communication within the organization. All these elements affect the decision making process of individuals, their interpretation on the subjects discussed and how they manage the environment of the organization. Hence, organizational culture can be used as a tool to achieve competitive advantage and develop a successful organizational strategy.

Can you identify examples of organizational cultures that can enhance the strategy of an organization?

Katerina

My assignment is to program a dance in Autodesk Maya using MEL script, which is Maya’s programming language. This dance has to be “Achy Breaky Heart”. The requirements are the following: usually a choreography is divided into 8 sets, which is the count “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8” that guides the choreo. It needs to include the four “8 sets” that this dance has. It also needs to be able to cycle. The link to the dance is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-1uqYy-06U

I can send you a walking cycle I made using MEL if you want to see an example.

Pls reply to post bellow by stating 1 or 2 positive elements of their suggested lesson and 1 recommendation for improvement. If you see no need for improvement, tell her/him why not

To make this lesson more engaging, I would recommend using storytelling as the prominent methodology.  The teacher/public health educator can certainly give a brief lecture as part of the lesson, but the lecture should we kept under 20 minutes to ensure the class maintains focus and attention.  Storytelling will keep the class interested and entertained more so then lecturing.  Furthermore, storytelling can address difficult topics and the affective domain, which would be especially useful with the topic of mental health.  It can also be more relatable to participants rather than merely hearing the information via lecturing and reinforces speaking and listening skills.  Digital storytelling can be particularly effective when discussing mental health because participants can be exposed to multiple stories from a diverse population.  Most importantly, storytelling will allow participants to be more involved through discussion and can provide real-life applications.
A. Learning Objectives:
1.    To give participants the knowledge of when someone should seek help for their mental health.
2.    To give participants the knowledge of where and how asking for mental health help can be applied.

B. Asking for Help: Strengthen Your Mental Health
1.    The teacher introduces the topic by briefing lecturing for about 10 15 minutes about the topic of seeking help if needed to strengthen their mental health.
2.    The teacher will introduce a DVD with digital storytelling about mental health, asking for help, and where and how asking for help could be applied.  The DVD will be about 30 minutes long and will feature different people telling their stories about seeking help in regards to their mental health.
3.    The teacher will allow for discussion and storytelling from participants for about 30 minutes.
4.    Before the lesson is over, the teacher will elicit answers from participants and re-emphasize critical information/key points about asking for mental health help.

C. Processing Questions:
1.    Identifying:
a.    What are some resources that can provide mental health help?
b.    What prompted some of the storytellers to seek out help?
1.    Analyzing:
a.    How is seeking help a strength rather than a weakness?
b.    Why should people seek out mental health help?
1.    Generalizing:
a.    Would anyone like to share a time they sought out help for a problem because they could not solve the problem by themselves?
b.    Would anyone like to share what self-care techniques they use to maintain their mental health?

First, make sure you properly cite the article you are submitting.  [See “Supplement to Syllabus” for proper citation format.]  After you cite the article, do the following, using appropriate section titles for each of the following numbered sections: (1) Concepts: At the beginning of your discussion, LIST the concepts or topics that you will be discussing.  (2) Summary: Write a short summary of the article’s major point(s).  (3) Relevance: Then, indicate how the article pertains to any of the marketing concepts, principles, topics, etc. that we are studying, discussing in class or reading about in Course Documents or the textbook.  (4) Importance: Explain why you think the article or its content is important. (5) Discerning Question: Pose a question for further analysis pertinent to the topic that can be further discussed in class; for example, if you showed how the article related to the use of Social Networks by marketers for purposes other than offering deals or coupons, you might ask, “In what other ways might marketers use content oriented social media to add value to the brand while at the same time enhancing a customer’s experience”?

Example:

Concepts

The article “Cadillac Puts Its Engines Through the Paces on the Racetrack” by Stenquist talks about how Cadillac automaker has successfully joined and won the luxury car racetrack competitions. These achievements are attributed to the quality and performance of the luxury cars that the company has enrolled in various racing competitions. Thus product concept is the key marketing principles that will be addressed in the paper and how it has made consumers favour cars produced by Cadillac.

Summary

Cadillac is a motor vehicle manufacturing company in the United States that mainly produces luxury vehicles. However, little is known about the company’s participation in the racetrack. In recent years, the company has made huge changes in their cars to participate in various racing competitions to market their brand. For example, the company has engineered and tuned its high-performance CT6-V sedan and V-series automobiles to participate in various racing competitions. This has, therefore, made the brand win various racing competitions such as in Daytona Wayne Taylor Cadillac was sponsored by Konica Minolta, and he won the race by completing 833 laps, which is equivalent to 2,965.48 Miles within 24 hours. This has, therefore, serving as a marking strategy for their brand, thus increasing the popularity of their products (Stenquis, 2020).

Relevance

This article is relevant since a real-world case scenario has been used to illustrate how companies can design unique and innovative products in order to make their target market favor their products over the products that are produced by their competitors.

Importance

From my point of view, this article is very important since it depicts how companies can use product concept ideas by designing high-quality products with innovative features to make consumers favor their products.

Discerning question

My discerning question, according to the article, is: how companies can effectively design unique and innovative products to make consumers favor their products?

Provide a brief biographical description of the artist Bob Fosse.
(Who they are/were, where
and when were they born/raised, how did they get their start, what are they most wellknown for, etc.)
*Discuss how their work is similar or dissimilar to the techniques used in jazz now.
*Discuss a critical issue that exists around their work. This should be the main
part of the paper.

What social or political contexts do or did this artist work under? How
do these contexts inform or affect their work? (For example: You may choose to write
about Gwen Verdon, and discuss how she had to negotiate working in the male dominated Broadway scene during her era, and how that societal sexism was reflected
in her life and her work)

Sources: 5 sources.
The sources may come from a variety of different media, but they must be from solid scholarship about the artist and their socialcontext. Wikipedia and opinion pages about the artist in a printed or online newspaperdo NOT count as sources.

Examples of acceptable sources are:
*Printed or online journals
*Books about the artist/social context
*Online or printed scholarly articles
*Documentaries
*Interviews
*Journalism that appears in a newspaper (online or printed) that is NOT simply
an opinion page.

See the screenshot of the initial setting of the C-Roads World Climate Simulator below.  It is necessary to use Google Chrome or Firefox to run the simulator.  It is recommended that you use the online version. This simulator is accessed at

This is the BAU (Business as Usual) projections for temperature increase of 4.2 degrees Celsius by 2100.  Under “Graphs” the CO2 concentration is above 800 (ppmm), far above the 450 maximum indicated by scientists.  These are far above the dotted lines which indicate the scientific recommended goal to minimize the impact of climate change.  Here the current scenario matches the BAU because no changes have been made by the user.  There are drop-down menus at the top (Simulation, Graphs, etc.).  Also, the years (2100) and % on the table beneath that can be changed.  This will automatically adjust the outcomes of the online simulation.  Additionally, under “Simulation” you can adjust a category called Assumptions and Sensitivities.  See my initial simulation below.

Instructor’s initial SIM

Here you can see that I have capped emissions for every region at the year 2050 and an annual decrease of 2%, with a 3% reduction in deforestation and a 4% promotion of afforestation.  The simulation indicates that this will result in a 3.1 degree rise in temperature by the year 2100, far above the recommended limit of 2 degrees.  Under Graphs > Impacts > Sea Level Rise, I was also able to determine that the projected sea level rise would only be slightly less than the BAU level 1+ meter.  Obviously, this scenario indicates that much more needs to be done to have a positive effect on climate change and to avoid the recommended maximums (always indicated by dotted lines on the graph) in order to avoid the massive negative impacts of climate change.  Under Window > 2100 Data Table, my SIM showed the following.

Year 2100

Atmospheric CO2 concentration (ppm)639.2

Atmospheric CO2eq concentration (ppm)681.6

High climate sensitivity temperature change (C)4.2

Temperature change (C)3.1

Low climate sensitivity temperature change (C) 1.8

Sea level rise from 2000 (m)1.1

Go ahead and explore different simulations with variables in the table, regionally and global, and the options of the Simulation and Graphs menus from the menu bar.  See what it might take to bring about a positive effect on climate change achieve the recommended scientific limits on temperature change and CO2 levels etc.  It is good to type some notes as you go to note the different variables and your exploration of the simulation because this SIM is online and cannot be saved.  You will be composing a 250 word narrative describing your interaction with the simulation.  Also, you will want to save and upload an image of one of your SIMs in the textbox.  You can right click on the images and save them to your computer and then upload them via the instructions below.  This can also be done with any method by which you take a screenshot, upload the image to your student workspace, set the image for public viewing  (Workspace > Actions > Edit Details > Publicly Viewable) and upload it here using the Image button (12th button on the middle row of the text editor).  In Windows, you can hit the PrtScrn (Print Screen) button and use MS Paint, Windows Photo Viewer, or another program to paste it and save it.  In Firefox you can now take and save and download screenshots from the browser itself.  Any method which works for you will be fine.

The image of your SIM and your 250 word narration of your experience and outcomes placed in the textbox and submitted complete this assignment.
