Chapter 6 (Diversity in organization Book)

Research: Conduct research to find an Asian American in a position of power in corporations, politics, or universities.  Describe their position, educational background, experience, and any other relevant factors that have contributed to his/her success. Check to see what other students have written and add something new if you are discussing the same person – do not repeat what is already written, do not provide your opinion – this must be researched and cited with a reference.

Write a two page paper in APA style with cover page, in-text citations, headings, and reference page and discuss the following:

Discuss similarities between poverty as a diversity concern in the U.S. and poverty as a diversity concern in country of your choice.

TIPS

Check anything APA at Purdue Purdue Online Writing Lab.
APA is always double space, no more no less.
The title page must have a header and page number. Center of title page has the title of the assignment, your name, and college name. NO MORE!
Don’t forget the References page. If you list a reference, it must also appear as an in-text citation and visa versa. Never use Works Cited on the References page. Use the word References.
Refrain from using the following phrases when writing an academic paper: “I believe” “In my opinion” “I think” “I”. The reason you use references is so you can write about what has been researched, this information has validity.
Use headings to take the reader from one point to another. Remember the reader has no idea what this case is about.

Case: The Media and the Promulgation of Stereotypes

Read the attached case (page 49 in textbook) and respond to the questions at the end of the case in a short two page paper. DO NOT use the questions as headings. Introduce the case and rewrite the questions as headings. This is a case analysis and should be written as such.

Paper MUST be written in APA 7th edition style, excluding title page and references page. Read Tips and use course Research Paper Guidelines and Resources below to avoid errors.

Examining Nursing Specialties
You have probably seen one or more of the many inspirational posters about decisions. A visual such as a forked road or a street sign is typically pictured, along with a quote designed to inspire.

Decisions are often not so easily inspired. Perhaps you discovered this when choosing a specialty within the MSN program. This decision is a critical part of your plan for success, and you no doubt want to get it right. This is yet another area where your network can help, as well as other sources of information that can help you make an informed choice.

To Prepare:

Reflect on your decision to pursue a specialty within the MSN program, including your professional and academic goals as they relate to your program/specialization

Choose among the following to review your specializations Scope and Standards of Practice or Competencies:

American Nurses Association. (2015). Nursing informatics: Scope and standards of practice (2nd ed.). Silver Spring, MD: Author.

The Scope of Nursing Informatics Practice: Functional Areas of Nursing Informatics (pp. 1839)

Note: The competencies for the Academic Nurse Educator do not encompass the competencies or scope and standards of practice for the Nursing Professional Developer. The set of competencies associated with that specific role within the Nurse Education specialization will be examined in future competencies throughout your specialization program of study.

Are you especially loyal to any one brand? If so, what is it and why are you so loyal? When successfully building loyalty and community, trust seems to be the biggest factor. How can a company build trust and what is the best approach to do so (incorporating concepts from both the field of marketing and psychology)? What are the ethical issues and obligations that come with trust once it is built? Should consumers trust companies? Why or why not? Do you think some consumers are just more prone to be loyal to companies and other consumers are not? Why or why not?

Review what you completed in Part 1 (last week) and Part 2 of this Investigation Scenario. Create a Final Report for the investigation in the form of a 2-4 page paper (12 point font, double spaced) that includes the following:

A cover sheet with your name and the name of the case (this does not count as one of the pages)
    Your investigation notes
The names of anyone arrested and the charges against that individual

Additionally, include an appendix to your report that contains all of your evidence that is separated by letter and organized by type of evidence:

    Appendix A original complaint,
    Appendix B Company XYZs policies,
Appendix C Company XYZs Authentication log files for May 10 from 8Am to 2PM, etc.
Make sure to include all of the evidence, including the original log files you have received in the appendix

Assessment criteria:

In grading the investigation scenario final reports I will be looking at two things:

How well you document what you did during your investigation
How complete is the appendix to your report.  Do not leave out any steps that you took and do not leave out any evidence or documentation from your appendix.  Please use the links provided if you are unsure how to write a police report.
