You have an idea for an original feature length film and you have estimated a budget of $250,000 to create, develop and produce this film. Based on the lectures and textbook, write a paper (roughly 400 – 750 words) about the fundraising process.

You will be graded on how detailed and appropriate the fundraising plan. No credit will be given for, “I will get the money from my Mom” and the like. This is not to be treated as an “I can make this film for no money, I’ll get everyone to give me stuff for free, etc.” kind of film. You have been given a budget amount of $250,000 above, so imagine as though you are a professional producer and this is a full length film that will cost real money.

You don’t get “points” for finding a way to make a movie for nothing (at least not in this assignment – save that for real life where it is an excellent skill to have!). The points here are for showing how you would handle the basics of real money for a real movie. We are looking for specific terms from the lecture and book, particularly the lecture (types of accounts, corporations, PPMs, LLC, 80% rule, “friends & Family”, etc) Show us you listened to that lecture and understand what those things are and how they are used in the process using your fictional film as the example. Use the lecture as a primary source and the textbook to supplement as needed.

Just to be clear, please remember that this is NOT a “budget” assignment; it is about fundraising – specifically the detailed process of fundraising. It is about the process of how you will acquire the money, protect it, distribute it, legal stuff, etc. While it is a good idea to include some broad numbers about how you are going to spend/budget the money just to put it in context, please don’t give us three pages of detailed budget info, spreadsheets, etc.

Your finished paper should be roughly 400 – 750 words. As always, remember to use formal language, correct grammar and spelling, and citations for every source including text and lectures.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it!

Assignment:
Executive Research Paper — Give me a paper with the essentials for creating an Integrated Marketing Communication Plan from scratch – at a company that has never had one before, or a startup that is just now creating their marketing department. Your audience is senior executives, and therefore quite intelligent, but they are specialists in Accounting, HR, Engineering, and Operations, so you will definitely be the resident expert in the room. So don’t make it so complicated they cannot follow you on this first pass with the data – just the basics, and a strong emphasis on why they should move forward with this. Let’s assume that just the salaries in your new department will cost $200k per year – you can decide how much of that goes into your pocket, and how many other employees you will have, since you are the new Director of Marketing, and then assume you have another $200k per year to spend on advertising. Again, just keep this to the basics and remember, I really, really, really care about you mastering this new research paper format, and a bit less about your marketing plan.

Hi please condense the response of prompt 1 and prompt 2 to about 1000 words. 500 words MAX for each prompt.

For prompt 1, use a few sentences to describe the ideological, philosophical, or political content in all of the resources overall.

For prompt 2, use comparison to distinguish 2 or more different resources. Please use bullet points for each distinction. Each bullet point idea needs to structure like this:
1) the difference between A and B is that…
2) Describe why A is different
3) whereas B is ….

Thank you!

Week 2: Appreciative Inquiry Discussion
No unread replies.No replies.
Overview
Appreciative inquiry is a newer tool OD practitioners use to help facilitate change.  Our text discusses the 5-D approach to using appreciative inquiry.  The 5-D model can be leveraged for creating positive change within the organization.  The first 4-D’s are:

Discovery
Dream
Design
Delivery
For an OD it is important to use the fifth D, Define.  This is the key for OD practitioners to help them clearly and effectively communicate the changes and different states within a project.  Rothwell, Stavros, and Sullivan, 2016 state “In this phase, the guiding question is, “What generative topic do we want to focus on together?” This phase often involves reframing or clarifying a pressing organizational issue into opportunity areas for further inquiry.

Read the Article: A Blueprint for Change: Appreciative Inquiry  (Links to an external site.)

Prompt
Select one of the three principles discussed in the article.
https://gbr.pepperdine.edu/2010/08/a-blueprint-for-change-appreciative-inquiry/

How can knowledge of the principle you selected facilitate your ability to create change within an organization?
What is a specific appreciative inquiry type of question you would use to further the clients’ ability to move forward in the principle you chose?

Choose one thesis statement from the choices below to write a one to three paragraph essay. Make sure you include the thesis in your essay. Support your assertions with textual evidence:

One of the reasons Chaucers The Canterbury Tales has endured in the literary canon for centuries is that it represents a slice of medieval life while at the same time serving as antidote, or cure, to the extreme social difficulties of that period. (Discuss what was going on in the Middle Ages at this time [the Plague, social distinctions with feudalism, knights, etc.] and how each storyteller has a specific role in that time period.)

(Can you please use The Pardoner’s Tale and The Prologue for textual evidence)

Objectives:

Find three secondary sources that are timely, useful, credible, and relevant to your primary source. Your work with these sources should help you revise and extend the work you completed in Step 1: Primary Source Analysis
At least TWO of your sources should be from a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal (we will discuss what this means in class)
Correctly use MLA Works Cited list format
Demonstrate the ability to comprehend the central arguments of these sources
Describe the sources relevance to your main argument
For each source, create a correctly formatted Works Cited entry in MLA style. See the MLA Handbook or the Purdue OWL (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/) for details
Getting Started:

Be sure that you understand the difference between a primary and a secondary source. See Who Says?, pg. 73-74 for help.
Keep in mind that research is not an exact science. Be patient and flexible throughout the process.
Employ the Shoreline Libraries website to find useful, timely, relevant, and credible electronic or print sources.
Completing the Assignment:

For each source, create a correctly formatted Works Cited entry in MLA style. See the MLA Handbook or the Purdue OWL (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/) for details.
After each entry, write a paragraph of at least 7-8 sentences that includes:
A description of the source (where it comes from, who wrote it, how a reader might determine its reliability, etc.)
A detailed summary of the authors main argument. For instance, dont simply say that an article is about personal confidence. What, specifically, does the article say about personal confidence?
An explanation of how the source relates to your argument. For instance, you might explain how this source supports, complicates, or disagrees with your claims, or you may describe which aspects of the sources argument relate to your argument.
Paper format requirements: Your annotations should be single-spaced, typed in 12-point font, and set to 1 margins.  See example papers if you need more clarity on how to format your paper.

FYI: I have a list of secondary articles in the Modules section on Canvas under Possible Secondary Sources to Choose for Your DMP.  They are articles used by former students.  You are welcome to look at them and use any of them for your papers.
