Format

Length: ~3 pages. The 3 pages is for the main content only. THIS MEANS THERE SHOULD BE A MINIMUM OF ABOUT 1,700 WORDS considering the Introduction, Body of the Paper, and Conclusions. The Title page and Sources DO NOT COUNT toward the 3 pages or 1,700 total word count of content.
NOTE: On the Title page post your word count, to show you have at least 1,700 word count, from the body of the Written Assignment (do not include the Title page or Sources page). This way you won’t lose points for lacking content, as you did a word count and verified you have the 1,700 word count for the body of the paper.
Font and Spacing: single spaced, Word document, 12 point font. This is about a 1,700 word count = 3 pages of single spaced text) . Make sure to submit a .docx document in the Written Assignment> Week 3 and Week 5 links. Need to convert a Page doc to a Word.docx

Outline for content

IMPORTANT: Put subheadings in bold in your paper to divide it into sections. Here is an example of subheadings to use in your paper:

Title your paper – give it a title relevant to your topic, ‘Gamification as it is Used in Marketing’ – example title. Put in your word count for this assignment – as previously noted – by your Title. Say the word count of this paper, including only the core content, and you have not included the Title page or Sources in this word count.
Introduction – describe in this section the topic/key areas being covered.
Background (optional, if you have this in your paper) – ‘The evolution of Gamification’ (example of the subheading for this section)
Subheading(s) specific to your key points – provide subheading titles specific to your key points that you are going to discuss, such as these three subheadings: ‘Defining Gamification,’ ‘The Elements of Gamification’, and finally ‘McDonald’s: The Original Gamifaction.’
Conclusion
Sources – provide links to your sources used
Optional Content – Highlight a specific sentence that is referring to some source or some video content and insert a link, giving the reader ‘click’ access to the video or to the source you are referring to.
Introduction: say what you are going to cover in your paper, say what is the main idea/topic or main purpose of your paper and the key issues or points you are going to discuss regarding this topic. This is the organizing principal for your paper, make sure it is clear and specific (not too broad that you could not cover the topic). This is where you capture the interest of the reader. (.25 page)
Optional background or more explanation of main topic, if necessary: more explanation of the topic, some general areas that are included in the topic, background of the problem or situation being faced. Be very short here – do not give a lot of backstory. Focus on the ‘now’ and going forward. Do not give an analysis of a history of a brand, for example. (.25 page)
Body / Key Points: Discuss each of your key points. Make sure to have a topic sentence for each point – stating clearly what is your key point. Then make sure to give some discussion, analysis (depth of content), examples, evidence, or facts that clarifies and brings out your key points. The Body is the core of your paper. (~2.5 pages)
Conclusion: your assessment of this topic, the impact of this issue on the marketing function, the product, brand, and/or the consumer, where things may be going in the future, for example. (.25-.5 pages)
Sources: list at least 3 sources of information, do not cite Wikipedia as a source, do not use political/think tank sources, you need at least 2 sources that are neutral/3rd party sources that do not have a stake in any brand you are discussing (source listing can be in addition to the 3 page total). Make sure you provide a link to the source and give the date for the source material. Make sure your sources are current (about no more than 1-3 year old, in possible).

Scenario: Your next meeting with Informational Systems is with senior leadership. You give them an update on your progress and thank them for their support of the project. They ask you what you think about their corporate culture. Some members of the leadership group think that things are just fine, while others believe that the current culture needs improvement and may be negatively affecting performance. You reply that you are still in the process of gathering information, but think to yourself that things could be better based on your experiences with employees thus far.

In a 500 word (2 page) essay, answer the following:  In your opinion, what would make the biggest impact on organizational culture: a new code of conduct, a new hiring policies/processes, or leadership change? Why?

This week’s content discussed both wage and non-wage issues of bargaining between unions and employers. Consider and comment on the following questions:

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of an employer conceding to union demands concerning wages and benefits in terms of productivity, retention, satisfaction, etc.? Is this trade-off worth it in your opinion? Why or why not?

2. How do you think new and innovative workplace initiatives such as flex-time scheduling, telecommuting, and the ‘Results Only Work Environment (ROWE)’ model are affecting the nature of union-employer bargaining over things like schedules, compensation, and benefits?

Choose a union with no less than 100,000 members. To assist you, here is an expansive list of options from which to choose.
1. Report on the union profile. How many members does the union have? How is the union’s organizational structure designed? In what industry(ies) does the union operate? How long has the union been in existence? Etc. (approximately 250 words for this section).
2. Report on a minimum of three (3) legal disputes in which the union has been involved in the last 10-15 years (approximately 250 words for each dispute). For each dispute, discuss:
a. Who were the parties?
b. What was the nature of the dispute (i.e. what was the conflict)?
c. Were any adverse actions taken by either the union (strikes, etc.) or the employer (ULPs, etc.)?
d. How was the dispute resolved (i.e. mediation, arbitration, litigation, etc.)?
e. What was the final outcome?
Submission Instructions:
This assignment should at a minimum contain 1,000 words of content (double spaced). Word count does not include headings, cover pages, references, or question text (if you choose to include it in your paper); I am looking for 1,000 words of substance. Your paper should be in APA format including a properly formatted cover page (abstracts are optional) and a reference page with at least three (3) NEW references (“new” here means references that you have not already used in previous assignments in this course). Providing additional references to your assignments demonstrates your desire to conduct additional research on the topic area, and can improve your research skills.

With all assignments, include properly formatted in-text citations within the body of your work for each of your listed references so the reader can ascertain your original thoughts or ideas as well as the portion of your work that is credited to credible sources. It is very important to identify work from other sources to ensure that proper credit is provided to researchers in the field. This assignment uses Turn It In for originality verification.

Submit the weekly written assignment as an MS Word attachment (.doc or .docx format). A recommended font is 12pt Times New Roman. DO NOT include discussion board answers with your formally written assignment submission.
