Your Week 5 project proposal memo must include the following:
A brief description of your audience for your business report (Who would really receive this report and be able to act on it? Thats your audience!)
An explanation of your purpose, including at least three reasons/benefits of the proposed change you will support in your business report
A list of the 4-6 professional sources you will use for your business report cited in either MLA or APA style (This list should be integrated as part of the memo to explain how you will support your recommendation, such as The following sources will be used to support the recommendation: <Then list the sources as they would appear on your list of references in the final report.>)
The Week 5 memo should be 1-2 single-spaced pages and formatted as a professional memo.
Purpose and Audience: The audience is your instructor. The purpose is to confirm that your audience, purpose, plan, and research are appropriate for the business report and presentation and to receive feedback from the instructor concerning your plan for those later assignments.

There are some schools of thought that do not believe in the efficacy of counseling and psychotherapy. Tan (2011) in Counseling and Psychotherapy concludes his work by exploring Is Psychotherapy Effective? (p. 389). What are your thoughts on Tans approach? Why is research a crucial component in exploring effectiveness in clinical practice? What steps can you take to maintain a research-informed approach throughout your career?

Chapter 17 and the Appendix (Is Psychotherapy Effective?) of Counseling and Psychotherapy (pp. 374400).

Briefly summarize the findings from each article.

Based upon the information read, discuss if eyewitness testimony is reliable or unreliable.

Connect your research to a memory theory discussed in Chapter 7 of your textbook. Attached is a page from the textbook.

When writing in APA style, it is important that your analysis is written in third person. Writing in third person, using support from the article to support your position, helps with clarity and conciseness throughout your paper.

Students will conduct an interview with a mental health professional to gain an in-depth understanding of how classroom knowledge applies in practice. Students will produce a presentation that includes, but is not limited to, the following elements:

The role of the mental health practitioner
The education and licensure of the practitioner
The area of practice of the practitioner
The number of years the practitioner has worked in his/her field.
The type of clients treated (including types of presenting challenges, voluntary or involuntary, age range, and other relevant demographics)
The theories and therapeutic approaches most often utilized by the practitioner
The most important components of the therapeutic relationships
The practitioners approach to professional development
How does the practitioner care for self?
What was his/her journey like from novice to seasoned practitioner?
What advice can the practitioner provide to students as they enter the field?

Provide a comprehensive presentation. Presentations should be approximately 20 slides in length and will be graded on content, as well as professionalism and complexity. Students should incorporate at least one other element (class activity, or video clip).

Concisely, in writing, answer the following few questions:

1.    Has the US Foreign Corrupt Practice Act been effective, or not and why?
2.    In your opinion, are there ethically defensible reasons to outsource production to the developing world where there are lower labor costs, when such actions involve the permanent lay-off of long-term employees in the firms home country?
3.    A visiting American executive finds that a foreign
subsidiary in a less developed country has
hired a 12-year-old girl to work on a factory
floor, in violation of the companys prohibition
on child labor. He tells the local manager to replace
the child and tell her to go back to school.
The local manager tells the American executive
that the child is an orphan with no other means
of support, and she will probably become a street
child if she is denied work. What should the
American executive do?

You must write an essay (500 words minimum) in which you address the following two questions or topics:

The fundamental values that inform how are democratic government is legitimated and organized are enshrined on the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution of the United States.

Identify and discuss the basic ideals and principles of American democracy and how they are applied in our republican form of government.
Those ideals and principles are discussed in the first and second chapters of your textbook. You can also visit the following websites to read the original document in which these fundamental values were first stated and how they were later incorporated in the American Constitution:

The Declaration of Independence: http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/
The Constitution of the United States: https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/constitution-transcript
Identify the most important Supreme Court cases and executive actions and their impact on law and on our society.
The history of the United States has been marked by the progressive expansion of voting rights and the protection of its citizens through legislation and Supreme Court decisions. At the same time, executive orders, particularly in periods of crisis led to the violation of individual rights. Throughout this module these issues are covered. In chapters 3 and 4 you will find the information you need to answer this question. You are also encouraged to visit the following websites for further details.

Directions:
In a 4-6 page written assignment, answer the following questions.

1) Define evolution using the course materials.
2) Define physical anthropology.  Discuss some of the general ways physical anthropologists investigate evolution.
3) Using the school Library, find at least one appropriate outside source that identifies one specific research project in which physical anthropologists are studying evolution (e.g. the Human Genome Project).  Describe the research project and its significance in our understanding of evolution.  Conduct original research, do not use the genome project because that example is given in class.  Be sure to cite your source.
4) Choose and define a second subfield of anthropology (cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, or archaeology).
5) Discuss some of the general ways an anthropologist in this second subfield investigates evolution.
*Remember, evolution can apply to both physical and societal changes, so things like language and customs can evolve just as much as bodies and brains can.
6) Using the school Library, find at least one appropriate outside source that identifies one specific research project in which anthropologists in this second subfield are studying evolution. Describe the research project and its significance in our understanding of evolution.  For example, an archaeologist may look at how tools have changed through time, and what has caused that change (conduct your own original research, do not use this example).  Be sure to cite your source.
8) Discuss how the study of evolution between physical anthropology and your chosen subfield compares and contrasts.
9) Conclude by discussing and reflecting on one new piece of information you learned about evolution.

Forum Question: Share an experience you’ve personally had with ethnocentrism.  How did this experience have an impact on you and/or others in the moment?  What was a potential solution to educate those involved in this experience about minimizing ethnocentrism?

Forum Question: Share a piece of news about an ethnocentric experience or event.  How is this an example of ethnocentrism?  What people were affected?  How could ethnocentrism have been minimized in this case?
