Photo Challenge #1: Mammalia
In the biological sciences, humans are categorized in the taxonomic Class Mammalia and we share several broad characteristics with other mammals (this will also be a topic in Week 5). Some common characteristics of mammals include:

Specialized Skin Glands – mammals have many types of glands not found in other vertebrates, such as scent and sweat glands. Mammals are warm-blooded, so perspiration helps regulation body temperature.
Hair – mammal bodies are typically covered in hair, although some have more (e.g. bear) than others (whales, humans, etc.)
Live-births – most (but not all) mammalian females retain their eggs inside their wombs and give birth to live offspring (rather than laying eggs)
Milk-Producing – the name “mammal” comes from mammary gland, which are the glands that produce milk used to feed young mammals
Prolonged Dependency – newborn and infant mammals are not independent at birth like some other types of animals. Mammals require adult care for a period of time before they can survive on their own.
There are other characteristics in heart (4 chambers), teeth (specialized), jaw bone (lower jaw attached to skull), and ear bones (three inner ear bones) as well.

This photo challenge requires you to explore the co-existence and commonalities between humans and non-human mammals. Before you rush to take an easy photo of your pet, take some time to first investigate some mammalian characteristics and some of the different species of mammals that exist in our lives, whether in wild or domesticated forms. Try to think about the world from the perspective of other mammals and how they may experience this world that has been shaped so significantly by human activities and lifeways.

Make sure that the subject(s) of your photo are indeed mammal (and not another type of animal).

Should include 1 photo taken by you, 2 hashtags, and a 100-200 word description illustrating that the core idea of the lesson was understood and applied.

“Marketing Vehicles”

Marketing is more than advertising. It refers to delivering value and benefits by creating products and services that will meet the needs and wants of customers. Another important component of marketing involves delivering the products at a price the consumer is willing to pay and making the products available in places where they are willing and able to buy them. A marketing vehicle is a specific tool that is used to deliver an advertisement to an intended audience.

For this week’s discussion, please respond to the following:

Identify the marketing vehicles you will use at your NAB Company. Describe each method of advertisement and explain why it is a good tool to reach your target market.

To address this weeks discussion, first list all the marketing vehicles (ways to promote your product) you will use to reach your customers, then briefly describe each, clarifying why the tool was chosen and why it is a good way to reach your target market.  Number these or use subheadings for each.

Clarify:

If you advertise, where
If you do promotions, describe how
If you send a newsletter, to what mailing list
If you are doing trade shows, which one and how frequently
If you are advertising on TV, which channels and how often.
Etc.

I have the professor’s instructions. I will not send them out until I have chosen a writer one I am comfortable with. I have two articles already the third article must be looked up using google scholar. The professor’s instructions will explain more the paper is 5 to 7 pages. We use the 6th edition publication manual of the American Psychological Association. I will send further instructions to the writer of my choice

The goal of the assignment is to use course concepts to understand the coffee drinking experience. Specifically, you will write a short paper that analyzes an in-depth interview you will conduct with a coffee drinker. For Assignment 2, pretend you work for a User Experience (UX) research company who has been hired by UC Coffee Company to learn more about coffee drinkers. The company is interested in 3 topics in particular: 1) how people become coffee drinkers; 2) what coffee drinkers see as good vs bad coffee (and what distinguishes the two); and 3) the everyday practices that characterize how people drink coffee. You will choose which of these topics to tackle in your in-depth interview and short paper.
