Students must take a 60 minute yoga class outside of QCC and write a 400-500 word essay about their experience. ***Students will now be allowed to take an online class instead of an in person class***
The essay is about your experienceIt can be about how the class impacted your mood, posture, or perspective
It can also be about a specific posture, or two, that you liked, didnt like, or didnt understand
Another topic could be on the specific style of the class and how that style worked or didnt work for you
Give the how and the why. How did something make you feel, and why did you feel that way.
This essay is NOT a research paper, so there is no need to search online or in books for information. If you feel it is important and necessary to quote a source, please do it properly. If you quote something without citation it is considered plagiarism and academic dishonesty.
Instructions are listed.

Governor Kemp has asked his research staff for a policy memo describing the prevalence of wrongful conviction in Georgia and specific recommendations for potential legislative or administrative remedies to the problem.

See Tips and Guidelines for Writing Policy Memos as well as Examples of Policy Memos for important resources and information to assist in writing your memo. This assignment requires going beyond assigned readings in order to gather information and evidence to understand and support potential policy options. Cited sources should be from peer-reviewed literature, official government reports, and reputable nongovernmental or research organizations. Note that there is no politically correct outcome for your policy memo, but your position needs to be strongly defended with referenced facts and evidence. You should also review resources on how to write an effective thesis (e.g., here and here).
With respect to formatting and style, the policy memos should be in 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins all around. The memo should be SINGLE-spaced with an additional line between paragraphs. All pages should be numbered consecutively, and use of headers, bullet points, and other standard conventions is recommended where appropriate. Citations should be in the form of endnotes, which are not included in the total page count. I highly recommend the use of bibliographic software, such as EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley but this is not a requirement.  Endnotes should be in APA format.
Your policy memo should include, at a minimum, the following sections.

1. Memo Header: Provide a complete and informative header that includes the full names and titles of the writer [e.g., Joe Smith, Student, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Georgia State University] and recipient(s), informative title [e.g., Felony Disenfranchisement in Georgia and Recommendations for Improving Voting Rights and Engagement], and date.

2. Introduction/Background/Problem Statement: Introduce the general issue and specific policy problem. Provide critical background information (including information on the size and scope of the problem), justification for writing the memo, key themes and/or recommendations of the memo, and a brief roadmap for what follows.

3. Issue Analysis: Provide a detailed yet concisely written analysis of the identified policy problem. Sufficient evidence must be marshalled to properly defend your analysis, ensuring that such evidence is factual, appropriate for the purpose, and comprehensive in scope. You may consider dividing this into subsections that address multiple aspects of the problem and potential solutions identified for consideration (which could, and perhaps should, include doing nothing). Discussion should identify likely winners and losers of proposed policy changes.

4. Recommendations: Describe your recommended course of action based on the preceding issue analysis. What specific steps should be implemented to address the problem, by whom, in what time frame? Review how you arrived at this decision (i.e., what was your methodological approach?), and clearly explain why your recommendations are best suited for addressing the policy problem.

5. Conclusion: Provide a brief conclusion of your analysis and recommendations, including a discussion of limitations of the analysis (e.g., insufficient data, political unwillingness to address, etc.).

I also need that went along with my paper I attached:
Reflect on the process of developing a social service program to target a specific problem: in this reflection include demonstrate how you integrated theory and practice when completing this assignment
Write your summary from the annotated bibliography above as it synthesizes the literature more directly to address your identified problem

Provide leadership in promoting sustainable change in service delivery by including: evaluate the feasibility and sustainability of the problem. support your assessment with peer-reviewed literature.
Discuss how you provide leadership in promoting sustainable change in service delivery and practice

Discuss genetically modified organisms (GMOs) as an issue of public policy in which ethical issues are involved, in which scientific information is relevant and in which such scientific information is publicly claimed to be accurate but might be of disputed quality. Provide references to and evaluate the quality of information that you have personally encountered to date concerning the safety of GMOs. Explain your methodology of analyzing the information you have encountered. In doing so, detail how one can know whether the information is relevant. What is the proper method of analysis for safety? Is there reliable and responsible public discourse concerning proper methods of analysis and the relevant information to conduct such analysis. Please cite sources and explain.

Explain how you would sort through the issues of scientific uncertainty, ethical uncertainty and economic forecasting uncertainty about the use of GMOs. One irresponsible approach might be to advocate ignoring the scientific uncertainty and treating the scientific results as certain for purposes of policy. Another irresponsible extreme one might require that all uncertainties be resolved and that absolute safety be established before allowing the use of GMOs. The aim would be extreme cautiousness, but can you justify such an approach as ethical, given that there are certain to be negative impacts on the lives of people? Such caution might result in the near certainty of harm. What would be a responsible approach?

Comment on whether there can be general guidelines concerning how to treat possibly uncertain scientific results, that may be important in policy decisions. Consider how one might address the quality of the scientific results, the reliability of the reporting of those results by government agencies and public media, the reliability of government, politicians and the press in advocating for particular scientific claims, and the potential existence of deliberately  misleading claims?

Golden rice is a genetically modified, Vitamin A enhanced rice. Please review the websites listed below and the documents in the “GOLDEN RICE” section of the Documents Section of this course that are also available below.

Summarize each of these documents explaining what each one claims and how each one established its claims to be valid.
Please search through the publicly available literature on Golden Rice on scholar.google.com and elsewhere. Identify at least two documents that provide significant information concerning public decision making policy concerns about Golden Rice that is not reported in the collection of documents provided to you here.

For all of the Document/GOLDEN RICE articles and the ones that you identify, evaluate the detailed argument presented concerning the safety and efficacy of Golden Rice.

Among these documents and websites are claims that further research is needed to establish the safety of GMOs.  Discuss to what degree these claims are specific. Are they reasonable? Do these claims, when made, specify what information is lacking and designate a methodology for obtaining the claimed required information?

Discuss the specific claims in the documents concerning mortality and morbidity among children due to Vitamin A deficiencies. Is this information accurate? How do you discern the accuracy of these specific claims? Could Golden Rice prevent avoidable death and blindness, and, if so, how many?

In documents that contain claims of uncertainty, discuss the document’s quantitative explanation of what degree of uncertainty is claimed to exist and what specific research must be done to address the specific sources of uncertainty that is indicated. If you encounter a document that claims uncertainty in safety but does not provide a quantitative analysis of the claimed uncertainty, explain why a quantitative assessment is not presented.

Is Golden Rice safe for human consumption? Is it effective? Could lives be saved using it? Cite specific sources and data and explain in detail how you justify your position.

What has prevented the introduction of Golden Rice to populations where Vitamin A Deficiency is prevalent and a significant cause of child mortality?

Climate change has, at least prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, been presented by many influential sources as a longterm danger meriting decisive and immediate action. Golden Rice has not received such public attention and insistence. Compare the scientific uncertainties in the risks of climate change mediation and of Golden Rice cultivation.

1. Provide an example (other than stair climbing or swinging a racket) in which an environment scaled for adults does not afford an infant or child much smaller in size to do the same behaviors as adults.  Discuss your example.

2. Describe all changes in all body systems that might lead to a higher frequency of falls in older adults.  Discuss all of these systems.

3. Teachers and activity leaders might suspect a child or older adult has an uncorrected visual problem if the individual demonstrates any of four symptoms. List and discuss (explain) three of the four symptoms.
