Last week we discussed our personal career futures. This week well focus on the broader societal landscape and what value diversity and inclusion play in the future of work. Diversity in the workplace does not just refer to race, sex, religion, class, and age. A commitment to a diverse working environment also acknowledges the importance of the diversity of perspectives, cultures, backgrounds, and strengths. 

Begin by reading pages 7.1-7.7 of the webtext for this week and viewing the video, “Inclusion Starts with I.”

Discussion Instructions

Initial Post: Then, by Thursday of Module 7, create an initial post that responds to each of the prompts below: 

    Have you ever encountered a situation like the ones highlighted in the video? How did it impact you? 
    What demographic groups, backgrounds, or perspectives are underrepresented in your career field? Why?
    What are the benefits of working in diverse groups? What are the challenges? 

You will not be able to see posts written by your classmates until you create your initial post.

Replies:  Then, from Friday through Sunday of Module 7, reply to your classmates initial posts and engage with them in a conversation about the future of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Do you think our workplaces will become more or less diverse and inclusive in the future? Why? Please be sure to reply to at least two of your peers’ posts.

Case studies will be distributed. Of those distributed, choose 2 case studies. 1 must be an adult case the other a pediatric case (0-18 years of age) demonstrating lifespan discussion. 

Please touch upon and include the following points in your discussion:

    Discuss the pathophysiology of the concept presented (population foci)
    Include current evidence of the pathophysiology presented (provide 3 current references)
    Include appropriate health promotion and disease prevention screening and methods associated with the pathophysiology of the disease.
    Identify the common chief complaints and clinical presentation (medical history and physical examination findings) of patients with the described pathophysiology of the selected disease.
    Include differential diagnoses
    What would the diagnostic work-up include (procedures, laboratory, and imaging evaluation) of this patients disease based upon your understanding of the pathological basis of the disease and how would you use it to rule in/out diagnostic possibilities in your differential.
    Include the interdisciplinary treatment of patients including lifestyle modifications, pharmacologic interventions, non-pharmacological therapies, including referrals for this particular patient in this case.
    Develop and present an appreciation of the impact the disordered pathophysiology has on the individual patient and family.

All information included in your paper must be cited and referenced using APA format. All sources must be from peer reviewed journals. Make a full revision of your essay.  Consider feedback left by others, and feedback left by your instructor.  TEST each paragraph to ensure it has a topic sentence that supports the thesis, full development, and transitions.  Consider the organization of your main points.  Add in your paragraph that uses a quote a from the textbook to support your point, and make sure to use appropriate transitions so that it does not read like a choppy add-in, but like a seamless part of the essay.  Include the Works Cited at the end of the essay.

Create and deliver a slide presentation (8-12 slides; 3-5 minutes maximum presentation) on the analysis of a selected health care problem that includes evidence-based recommendations. speaker notes, which serve as a transcript.

Health care leaders scan for emerging and existing issues, prioritize problems, collect and analyze data, propose evidence-based solutions, and engage diverse teams in the process. Once a problem has been sufficiently analyzed, the health care leader must identify stakeholders who will participate in the final decision making for a proposed evidence-based solution.

Most importantly, the health care leader must craft a message that is aligned with organizational mission and strategy, based upon sound analysis and data, and includes of a wide variety of diverse stakeholders. The message needs to be communicated in a clear, concise, culturally competent, balanced, and professional manner.

In this assessment, you will have an opportunity to practice a wide variety of executive level skills by conducting a PowerPoint presentation on the selected health care problem. You will demonstrate a flow of logic and analysis by following a slide presentation outline template.  In the presentation you will carry forward the work already completed in Assessment 3.  Specifically you will cover the following in your presentation:

State the problem.
Identify clearly the relevant factors or performance indicators and associated units of measurement.
Describe the application of an appropriate analysis tool to the problem.

The goal is to persuade the senior leadership team to implement the evidence-based recommendations presented. Financial Analysis – Finance Component
In no more than 3 pages, develop the pro-formas using the % sales model, get a sales forecast out 3 years, and a forcasted share price. You can use the forecast data to derive the pro-formas. Focus on analyzing forecasted data with respect to the company’s future growth. The key here is making sure that you carefully consider your assumptions which allows you to perform that critical financial analysis with respect to the company’s financial growth. Emphasis needs to be on analyzing the pro-forma data which should enable anyone to justify your conclusions.

The PERCENT OF SALES MODEL should provide you the assumptions for deriving proformas for each of the three financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flow), and will allow you to do your critical financial analysis of the firm.
i) The pro forma, must be forecasted out three years. 8
ii) Make sure you focus on your assumptions and EXPLICITLY show them since they will drive your forecasted data, which will allow you to perform the critical analysis where the company is going, based on your forecasted data INCLUDING THE FORECASTED SHARE PRICES.
iii) This should be the focus of your written analysis; stated differently, the focus needs to be on the future of your company and where it is going and why.
b) The emphasis should not be on the history of the company, other than what I have asked you to include, that is stated above.
c) Finally ,in your analysis you need to justify your conclusions. For example, is the company in a strong financial position based on its EXPECTED SHARE PRICES and MARKET CAPITALIZATION? Why or why not? What direction does the company need to go in either case? These are some of the questions that need answered.

Psychologists have discovered that human beings experience several different states of consciousness during the course of a day. For example, people have times when they are especially alert and times when they are awake but not alert, often called “daydreaming.” Also, while people are asleep, they experience different stages of sleep, each characterized by different patterns of brain and bodily activity.

In a multi-paragraph essay, discuss the different states of consciousness that you have experienced in the past 24 hours, including any periods when you were asleep, alert, or “daydreaming.” Be sure to describe both the brain and bodily activity you experienced during each state of consciousness.
