Literacy Narrative PaperInstructions:In a personal essay of 1000-1500 words, describe a significant moment in your life related to literacy.  You may define literacy as the ability to read and write, but you may also consider other types of literacy, including visual literacy, technological literacy, mathematical literacy, cultural literacy, and others.  A literacy narrativetells a story related to literacy.  A literacy narrative often focuses on a memory, milestone, significant life event, or another topic related to the authors life.  A literacy narrative is written in first-person and is based on the authors own experiences.  First-person point-of-view requires the use of I,me,and other personal pronouns. In the past students, have written about their first memories with reading and writing, memorable teachers or classroom experiences, memorable books, bad or negative experiences with reading and writing, learning a new language, traveling to a new country, and a variety of other topics.  The Malcolm X essay Literacy Behind Bars and the Sherman Alexie essay Superman and Me are examples of well-known literacy narratives. Goals of the Assignment: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of literacy, why literacy is important, and how literacy relates to human experiences.  2.  Practice reflective, personal writing.3.  Apply organizational principles for personal narrative.Craft introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.  4.  Use grammar and language in clear, correct, and appropriate ways.  Research:No research is required.A References page is not required for this paper.  Length:Your final paper must include at least 1000 words of written text.  It should not exceed 1500 words of written text.  Formatand Organization:Use thesample APA paper in Chapter 61of the Lunsford textbook as a model for how to format the final draft.  An abstract is not required.Use APA format, including a title page.  Number each page of the paper according to APA formatting conventions.  Use 12 point Times New Roman or a comparable font.  Double-space the entire document.
This is a personal essay about your own life experiences. A personal essay is typically organized in either chronological order or topical order. Chronological order involves telling a story based on how the events in the story took place over time. In other words, simply tell the story as it happened in real life, from start to finish. A topical organizational pattern does not move through time, but instead uses separate paragraphs to address separate topics. Choose one of these organizational approaches for this essay. The introductionis the opening paragraphof an essay. The introduction of a good personal essay should get the readers attention by engaging one or more of our five senses. Usethe opening paragraph to set the scenecraft an image for readers and make clear that the essay relates to literacy. The final paragraph of the essay, the conclusion, should wrap up the story and emphasize why the moment was significant in your life. You may also use the conclusion to describe what others can learn from the story youve told in the essay.Grading:Your paper will be graded based on the grading rubric included in the course syllabus.  The rubric describes the characteristics of an A paper versus a B paper and so on.  Use the rubric as a resource as you work on this assignment.  If your goal is to earn an A, you should review the rubric and work toward a final draft that exhibits the qualities of an A paper as outlined in the rubric.  Other notes:Sample literacy narratives and supplemental readings appear in Canvas.  The content in Modules #1 and #2 is meant to help you understand the goals of the assignment.  Apply that content to your work as you begin this

Planning your Graduation Party

Each week you will be given a Project Assignment that will be delivered to your instructor using the appropriate submission folder. Each of these assignments will build on what you have learned throughout the course. In the final week you will submit your final project. If you have questions you may always contact your instructor.

You will be using the skills you are developing towards creating a fantastic graduation party for yourself. These skills are the same that you would use for a quarterly business report, a research paper, a letter to a business owner, etc. We will be having some fun planning your party and learning/applying the skills in a creative way!

To begin the project, think about your future graduation. Think about planning a graduation party to celebrate all of your hard work. For the sake of this assignment, imagine that you have the budget that could include a rented venue and entertainment. You need to decide on the theme, the food you will serve, the location, and the entertainment you will have. Plan on a three-hour eventthe date and time are up to you. Of course, everything that you include needs to be school and classroom appropriate.

This assignment will be created in a Word document but don’t worry too much. The reading for this week covered all the basics. The first thing you need to do is to set up a folder on your computer where you will save all the files for this class.

Once you have created your folder you will need to create a new Word document and save it with the title of W1P_LastName.docx. Put your name and the assignment number in the first two or three lines of the document. Always make sure the instructor can find your name easily in any assignment turned in.

Now you get to describe your graduation party. Your paper should include the following; review the Grading Criteria below for specifics. This assignment should be at least half a page in length and could be as long as two pages. Take the space that you need to meet the requirements.

Description: Describe your party and what it means to you. How will graduation make you feel and what will it help you to accomplish?
Location: Include at least three possibilities of locations for your party. You can find these by searching the Internet for venues near you or wherever you want the party to be held. For each possible location, include a sentence or two explaining why this would be a good location and include the link to the Web site for at least one location so your classmates can see it and to demonstrate your ability to add a hyperlink.
Entertainment: This should fit with the theme you planned, and it can range from guided tours to board games to live bands. Really be creative with this. Pick at least three possible choices for entertainment. For each choice, include a sentence or two explaining why it would be a good option. Include a link to the Web site for at least one entertainment choice so your classmates can look at it and to demonstrate your ability to put in a hyperlink.
Add some formatting to your text and decorate your page with some graphics (Insert Picture or Online Picture) to demonstrate your theme more visually! Change the WrapText properties on the graphic to Square so you can move it where you want it. Be sure to see the Project Tips at the end of the directions for more help with this and the rest of the project. Explain what formatting you did in the message box.

By the due date assigned, submit your Microsoft Word file with your Graduation Party Planning document to the Submissions Area.

Much of negotiation theory and research reported in this volume is based on studies of negotiators in simulated market transactionsthat is, simplified decision situations in which negotiators who have no past or future relationship with each other focus on key issues such as price and terms. But much actual negotiation occurs within established relationships, in which the past history and future expectations of the parties with each other significantly affects how they negotiate in the present. In this weeks readings, we indicated why negotiation within relationships is likely to be different from market transactions, discussed different forms that relationships could take, and reviewed what research has informed us about how a relationship context might shape negotiation behavior.

Many negotiations concern how to work (and live) together more effectively over time, how to coordinate actions and share responsibilities, or how to manage problems that have arisen in the relationship. In this chapter, we evaluated the status of previous negotiation researchwhich has focused almost exclusively on market-exchange relationshipsand evaluated its status for different types of relationships, particularly communal-sharing and authority-ranking relationships.

We have examined three core elements common to many negotiations within relationships: reputations, trust, and justice. Trust issues are central to relationships. While some amount of trust exists in market-transaction negotiations, trust is more critical to communal-sharing

Please answer the following questions in your original discussion posting (250 words). Also, be sure to cite one additional resource.

1. How does egocentric bias play out in judgements about fairness?

2. Why are negative reputations difficult to repair?

3. What are some of the findings of the limited amount of negotiation research about communal sharing relationships?

In this chapter we have considered elements of the art and science of communication that are relevant to understanding negotiations.

We first addressed what is communicated during negotiation. Rather than simply being an exchange of preferences about solutions, negotiations covers a wide-ranging number of topics in an environment where each party is trying to influence the other. This was followed by an exploration of three issues related to how people communicate in negotiation: the use of language, nonverbal communication, and the selection of a communication channel.

In the closing sections of the chapter we considered: (1) how to improve communication in negotiation, where we discussed listening skills and the use of questions; and (2) special communication considerations at the close of negotiation.

For this discussion, explain what the special communication considerations are at the end of the negotiation. Give an example of the considerations using 200 words. Please cite at least one source using APA formatting.
