Must read each lecture and relate it to what you are learning from Armesto chapters 12-14. You can do this anyway you like. This is your opportunity to express your understanding of the material. For this assignment, students are to write an Initial Post working directly with Armesto’s textbook.

1. Each initial post must have a topic sentence typed at the top of the response (separate from the body).

2. Initial post must be submitted to the plagiarism check by the same day the post is due.

3. Remember, the goal of this assignment is historical discussion. Connections to present day are great, but they should not make up the majority of your response.

4. You may incorporate quotes from the documents as evidence, but the majority of your posts should be in your own words.

Midterm Essay Part 2

Part 2 of the midterm consists of one essay question. You will choose one of the questions below to answer.
Respond to your question in an essay (introduction, body, and conclusion) format. At a minimum, the textbook and one outside source must be cited in the essay.
All references must be cited in APA format as described in the Lesson 0 information. See the Syllabus for the grading rubric.
This essay is worth 50 points and has a minimum word count of at least 650 words.

Option 1: Select a product you believe is designed to fail. Define the concept of planned obsolescence with regards to your selected product. Is this strategy ethically unsound? Why or why not? Explain how the supply and demand curve would change with regards to this product.

Option 2: Compare the role of the individual and the role of the organization in ethical decision making. How can businesses promote an ethical climate? Explain how the ethical decision making may be different if you were in the following roles; an accountant within a corporation, a sole proprietorship, and a partner of a business.
