Report Detail and Expectations:

On an annual basis, Fortune magazine publishes a list of the top 500 US and this listing has become the ultimate scorecard that businesses use to determine if they are successful or not.  This listing is ranked by total revenue for each company and it has become the gold standard for comparing companies in the market.

As a Marketing professional, the Fortune 500 listing, and the data that it provides on companies, can be a very valuable tool for you to use so our project this semester is designed to help you to get familiar with this listing and to give you a chance to work with this data and use in coordination with many of the Marketing concepts that are being taught in this course.

Part 1 Fortune 500 Top Performers & Research on Your Company

Assignment No. 1

For this section of the report, you need to identify both the top, and the bottom, (3) companies listed on the Fortune 500 List for 2020.  For these (6) companies, you will need to collect the following data and build a spreadsheet to display this data.

– Fortune 500 Ranking Number
– Company Name
– Brief description of the products or services that this company sells
– Revenue
– Profit
– Profit as a % of Revenue

Assignment No. 2

For this part of your report you need to select one company from the 2020 version of the Fortune 500 list and this will be the company you will be using for the rest of your report.

The company that you pick will be one that you are familiar with meaning that it is a company whose products/services you, or someone that you know, has used in the past.  This needs to be a company that you have heard of and that you have some kind of impression of them as a company.  Youll will need to also have an opinion of how effective you feel that they are at providing you with a fair value for the products/services that you, or someone that you know, has bought from them in the past.

You will need to have this level of awareness of the company that you select so that you can complete some sections of this report as detailed out below.

For the company that youve selected, I need you to provide the following information.

– Fortune 500 Ranking Number
– Company Name
– Brief description of the products or services that this company sells
– Revenue

– Profit as a % of Revenue
– Write a detailed explanation on what attracted you to this company and include a listing of the reasons why you chose it.

Assignment No. 3

For your company, I need you to research their website to provide the following information.

– Provide both their Vision Statement and the Mission Statement and then I want you to give me your impression on how well you feel that they are doing to achieve their Vision and their Mission. This response needs to include examples to back up your statements.

– Provide a detailed list of the different products, or product families, that this company offers to the market. For example, if you select CVS I do not need a detailed listing of all of the products that they currently sell but you would include a list that would include prescriptions, over the counter medical products, food items, magazines, etc.

– From researching either their website or the internet, provide a listing of the new product families that they are planning to offer for sale in the near future.

Assignment No. 4

For your company, I need you to research and find (2) of their competitors that compete with your company with most, or all, of the product families that they are selling.

– For each of the (2) competitors, provide both their Vision Statement and the Mission Statements.

– Provide a detailed list of the different products, or product families, that each of these (2) competitors offer and identify those product families that are different from the product families that your company offers, or is planning on offering to the market.

no need to be too fancy but fewer grammar mistakes will be great. The last time your essay got an A for me, but this time another writer messed up….  I just want you to write another essay and I will provide the previous one maybe you can tell the reason. I will also provide you my work from before.

Prince Among Slaves responded to a whisper from across the centuries which seemed to say, Remember me. My efforts will have met my expectations if they fulfill the promise of the Hadith: Whosoever records historical facts concerning a believer has, as it were, brought him back to life. —

Terry Alford, Prince Among Slaves, 206.

In Prince Among Slaves, Terry Alford reconstructs the story of Abd al-Rahman Ibrahima, the Muslim son of a West African king who was captured, enslaved, and lived most of his life on a plantation outside of Natchez, Mississippi, before gaining his freedom and returning to Africa shortly before his death in 1829. As remarkable as Ibrahimas story doubtless remains, the Slave Journeys database reminds us it was part of a larger whole; he was one of 12.5 million documented African men and women who were enslaved and taken aboard slave ships to cross the Atlantic to labor in plantations and mines in the Americas (in 1820, there were four times as many Africans who had crossed the Atlantic as Europeans). Dehumanization was central to the slave system what the scholar Orlando Patterson has called social death. Using examples from Alfords work, discuss at least two significant ways that slave traders and/or plantation owners and their allies tried to take away Ibrahimas humanity. Conversely, what are two aspects of Ibrahimas identity that he was able to maintain? How did he manage to do so? Finally, Id like each of you to conclude your essay with a brief consideration of Alfords concluding statement (quoted above): what does he mean by this? why is it such an important issue for him?

Now that you have explored the Web sites of a number of professional associations and foundations that support the work of higher education professionals, share your findings with your colleagues and determine “what’s on the agenda” of these organizations. In your Discussion this week, address the following questions:

Are there common themes that you see running through the issues and topics addressed by several associations? Are there some associations whose agenda seems to be very different from those of others? How do the agendas of these organizations overlap with the issues we’ve been investigating in this course so far? Are the associations working on issues that truly concern the majority of higher education professionals, and is their work likely to provide resources that will help us with our key challenges? Do you see any gaps?

Be sure and identify the names of at least three of the organizations, foundations, and/or associations that you studied.
