Long Term Goals (psychology)

What are your long-term goals? Specifically do your academic research interests focus on cultural, societal or educational problems as they might affect educationally disadvantaged segments of society? Please Explain and be specific

I WILL NOT ASSIGN THE WRITER IF THE WRITER DOES NOT SHOW ME A SAMPLE OF HIS OR HER WRITING. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME

Part One

This is the lecture – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o78brqjP1Y

1) Answer the following questions in full sentences based on the content of the lecture:
What good are international treaties like the Paris Peace Treaty if Hitler could just ignore all of its stipulations without consequences? Was there something in particular about this treaty that led to these results?

2) Do you think there was any point at which war could have been avoided without just starting the war earlier? Who could have done this and why didnt they?

3) What were the reasons that the German campaign against the Soviet Union (operation barbarrosa) was initially so successful for germany, and what three reasons slowed down their success unexpectedly?

Part Two

Read one of the documents from: http://soviethistory.msu.edu/1943-2/900-days/900-days-texts/
Answer the question in 3-5 paragraphs and respond to one of your classmates’ posts:
How did the citizens of Leningrad understand their role in the war effort? What was their experience like and how did they explain it to themselves?

Choose THREE of the following topics to answer in 2-3 pages (double spaced). Your completed midterm exam will be a minimum of six pages total (seven with your works cited) and can be as long as ten pages. Be as complete and detailed as possible. Be sure to cite the sources of all the information (including the Weisman and Niemel texts) you use in your articles with both in-text citations (author, year) and complete citations at the end of each essay (use APA style). Use your own words! Quote only sparingly. Also, the question How? does not just mean describe a change, but if possible also explain the mechanisms involved. Use a readable 12 point font and double space.

Taking into account all of the differences between natural and urban habitats, how are animals able to live within urban areas? Which kinds of animals can and cannot live in urban habitats? Do they share any special traits? Does living in an urban area change their population structure?
2. If New York City was completely abandoned by people, what would happen to all the houses, cathedrals, skyscrapers, sculpture, bridges, subways, roads and other material left behind? Would everything completely disappear? How long would it take? Would the returning vegetation resemble the pre-European settlement forest? If not, why not?

3. Discuss the characteristics of urban soils. Explain how previous use affects soils in the long term using the experimental agricultural fields Rothamsted Broadbalk and Geesecroft as examples,

4. Explain how urban structures change hydrology and water quality. Go into detail on the different aspects of hydrology, including soil characteristics that affect hydrology.

5. What are some of the different types of land uses in urban areas? Compare each in terms of biodiversity, surface types, relative evapotranspiration, plant cover, albedo, and radiation flux.

6. How are wetlands in and at the edge of urban areas affected by the urban presence? (in terms of biodiversity, community and population structure, hydrology, and soil and water quality characteristics)

7. Explain how the presence of buildings, roads, and sealed surfaces affects the climate of city (compared to surrounding rural and natural areas). Include all aspects of climate temperature, wind, and precipitation and their spatial and seasonal patterns, chemical and biological.

Now that you have explored the Web sites of a number of professional associations and foundations that support the work of higher education professionals, share your findings with your colleagues and determine “what’s on the agenda” of these organizations. In your Discussion this week, address the following questions:
Are there common themes that you see running through the issues and topics addressed by several associations? Are there some associations whose agenda seems to be very different from those of others? How do the agendas of these organizations overlap with the issues we’ve been investigating in this course so far? Are the associations working on issues that truly concern the majority of higher education professionals, and is their work likely to provide resources that will help us with our key challenges? Do you see any gaps?

Learn more about the depth and breadth of the higher education enterprise by exploring the following professional associations Web sites:

Oscar is a healthcare administration leader who oversees the management of an ambulatory care clinic. Over the past 2 months, patient inflows have dramatically increased due to a recent shutdown of a neighboring care clinic. The patient inflows require that 90% of all nursing staff work overtime to ensure effective healthcare delivery. However, having 90% of the nursing workforce work overtime could be problematic in terms of patient quality and safety. Oscar would like to determine how he can best optimize his current staff holdings to ensure a balance between quality patient care and safety.

For this Discussion, review the resources, and be sure to focus on the Bastian et al. (2015) article. Reflect on the optimization problem mentioned in the article.

By Day 3
Post a brief summary of the optimization problem presented in the Bastian et al. (2015) article in the resources for this week. Be sure to include an explanation of the objective function, as well as what the constraints actually mean. Then, explain what was done well in the article, and identify where you found shortcomings in the article. Be specific, and provide examples.

Following the informal outline , compose your rough draft. You may choose to visit the South University Online Citation Resources: APA Style page for an APA formatted template to start your draft https://southuniversity-libguides-com.su.idm.oclc.org/friendly.php?s=citations101.

Your rough draft should be at least 1,200 words and include an introduction, well-developed body paragraphs, a memorable conclusion, and a references page. Be sure to include a cover page and format your headers correctly.

Visit the South University Online Citation Resources: APA Style page for a guide to properly citing resources.

Informal Outline Guide

Part 1: Give a general introduction to the problem, including the thesis statement. The thesis statement should present a clearly defined position on a debatable topic.

Part 2: Present the history of the problem, including, perhaps, past attempts at a solution.

Part 3: Discuss the extent of the problem. Who is affected by it? How bad is it?

Part 4: Indicate what will happen if the problem is not solved.

Part 5: Connect the argument with facts that prove your points. Note the areas of objections and offer concessions if needed.

Part 6: Provide a conclusion, including a restatement of the thesis and summary of the main ideas.

Peer Response Guidelines:

1. Share any observations you have about the thesis statement. Does it present a clearly-defined position on a debatable topic? Is it narrow enough to be supported within the constraints of the paper?

2. Identify opposing points of view that could be addressed to strengthen the central argument. How might the writer accommodate or refute them?

3. Is the outline well-organized? Does it suggest a logical structure for the essay and a clear focus throughout?

You will need to find 4 articles located in scholarly journals. Scholarly journal articles are also referred as primary source peer reviewed articles. A scholarly journal article can be found in the South University Online Library. To find more information regarding utilizing the South University Library and accessing scholarly journal articles click on Library Guide. What cannot be used for this assignment are web pages, magazines, newspapers, text books, and other books. Finally, current research for our purposes is an article that was published within the last 5 to 6 years.

Remember this is a course on human development so when looking for articles make sure they are related to the subject matter covered in the course. To help in your search here are some of the major areas we covered in this course (these are meant as a guide, not specific topics to find).

Major developmental theories across the lifespan
Nature of geographic, gender, social, cognitive, emotional, and developmental factors during each period of development
Developmental factors that impact one another.
Historical and current trends in development
Current trends which may differentially impact the future development of populations in the United States
Social, and diversity issues related to developmental psychology
With the major areas above in mind, focus on at least two of the following age groups:

Childhood
Adolescence
Adulthood
Older Adults
First, give an overview of each article, including:

Write a 2-paragraph summary for each article.
Write a 1-2 paragraph analysis and evaluation for each article found.
Make sure to integrate course material in that analysis
Then, write a summary (1-2 pages) integrating what was leaned from the articles reviewed on the chosen age groups as seen from the life-span perspective. Cover the following in that summary:

What similarities did you find in the types of research and what was being studied? What differences did you find?
Based on your course readings, what developmental theories did you find that were applicable?
Explain how the life-span perspective may provide a way of better understanding the research reviewed.

Throughout this course we examined development through the lens of the life-span. For this week we took a closer look at older adults. The perceptions about growing older into older adulthood often do not match the realities of being an older adult.

For this assignment, explain some of the myths regarding older adults and some of the realities they often face.
Put special emphasis on the social-economic and the physical factors that you have found in your readings and research on this topic.
Based on your experiences how would you interpret these myths and realities of older adults? Make sure to justify your answers by citing relevant sources.

Normative and non-normative events help us understand how change and stress may impact our quality of life. Using the South University Library, locate 2 scholarly journal articles written in the last 5-6 years on how change and/or stress can impact a persons life. Look especially for how sudden, unanticipated (non-normative events) events can impact a persons quality of life.

Write a summary.
Describe the main points of the article and how they relate to the week’s course and text readings.
Use the lessons and vocabulary found in the readings. Your responses should clarify your understanding of the topic and should be original and free from plagiarism. Follow APA guidelines for the writing style, spelling and grammar, and citation of sources.
