2. Using specific theories and examples from your readings, what advice would you give her about ways to manage, prevent, and cope with stress?
3. How can Carol Dweck’s research on the Growth Mindset help your sister?

EdPs 270 Human Development Across the Lifespan
Article Analyses are due: November 1st, December 6th, on Canvas.
**Contact Mrs. Waite if you feel you need to change your topic**
Choose a health issue, psychological disorder or problem behavior and discuss how biological, cognitive, socioemotional, and contextual factors relate to it at a particular stage during the lifespan. You can discuss how biological, cognitive, socioemotional and contextual factors influence the problem (e.g., how do neurological problems influence the development of depression), or how the problem affects biological, cognitive, socioemotional and contextual aspects of development (e.g., how does depression influence peer relationships). You may choose any topic in Chapter 4, or other topics in the textbook of interest to you. Below is a brief list of potential topics, but many others are suitable for this assignment. Please contact me regarding questions about your topic choice.
Each article analysis should cover a different aspect of development (i.e., if you discuss a biological component for your first article, you will need to discuss two different aspects of development for article 2 and article 3).
Only peer-reviewed sources will be permitted.
Your analysis will contain three sections:
Each analysis should include a description of the health issue, psychological disorder or problem behavior. What is it? What are the features? What does it look like during a particular stage in the lifespan? How often does it occur in the population? How does it affect a person in everyday situations? These answers to these questions should be geared towards the aspect of development you are focusing on. In short, address the relevance of the chosen developmental process (cognitive, biological, socioemotional, or contextual) in relation to the chosen topic. (5 points)
Next, summarize the research article, focusing on the information relevant to your chosen developmental process (cognitive, biological, socioemtional, or contextual). Here, you will summarize and paraphrase the article in your own words, with a clear emphasis on the results (i.e., dont focus on the how the studies were conducted, but what was found and why that information is important). Use of direct quotes will result in an Unsatisfactory score for this section. (15 points)
Finally, include a reflection on the relevance of this topic to your future profession. First, explain in what capacity you might work with individuals with this health issue, psychological disorder, or problem behavior (e.g. nursing, speech therapy, teaching, counseling, research, etc). Then, discuss instances in which you may encounter the chosen topic within your career. Why is it important for you to learn about and understand this issue in your career? How will your understanding of this issue influence how you work with people? Are there any measures that can be taken to treat or prevent this issue for those who are at risk? (15 points)
Finally, you will be scored on your ability to organize your thoughts, and follow APA guidelines. Please see the APA support resources on Canvas, and be sure to review your paper for spelling and grammar errors prior to submission.
Assignment five
1. The recalling stage of the listening process is a place where many people experience difficulties. What techniques do you use or could you use to improve your recall of certain information such as peoples names, key concepts from your classes, or instructions or directions given verbally?
2. Getting integrated: Identify how critical listening might be useful for you in each of the following contexts: academic, professional, personal, and civic.
3. Listening scholars have noted that empathetic listening is the most difficult type of listening. Do you agree? Why or why not?
4. Which style of listening best describes you and why? Which style do you have the most difficulty with or like the least and why?
5. Bad speakers and messages are a common barrier to effective listening. Describe a time recently when your ability to listen was impaired by the poor delivery and/or content of another person.
6. Of the bad listening practices listed, which do you use the most? Why do you think you use this one more than the others? What can you do to help prevent or lessen this barrier?
7. Apply the strategies for effective critical listening to a political message (a search for political speech or partisan speech on YouTube should provide you with many options). As you analyze the speech, make sure to distinguish between facts and inferences, evaluate a speakers supporting evidence, discuss how your own biases may influence your evaluation, and think beyond the message.
Assignment six
1. Pick an important relationship and describe its relationship culture. When the relationship started, what relationship schemata guided your expectations? Describe a relationship story that you tell with this person or about this person. What personal idioms do you use? What routines and rituals do you observe? What norms and rules do you follow?
2. Of the five conflict management strategies, is there one that you use more often than others? Why or why not? Do you think people are predisposed to one style over the others based on their personality or other characteristics? If so, what personality traits do you think would lead a person to each style?
3. Of the conflict triggers discussed (demands, cumulative annoyance, rejection, one-upping, and mindreading) which one do you find most often triggers a negative reaction from you? What strategies can you use to better manage the trigger and more effectively manage conflict?
4. In what situations would you be more likely to communicate emotions through electronic means rather than in person? Why?
5. Can you think of a display rule for emotions that is not mentioned in the chapter? What is it and why do you think this norm developed?
6. When you are trying to determine someones emotional state, what nonverbal communication do you look for and why?
I only need chapters one and two.
Introduction (Establish the problem or issue you want to research, Provide an overview of existing thought, The implication of the study), Framework of the study, Developing the Framework , Problem Statement, Significance of the study, Scope and Delimitation, Definition of terms.
Research Design, Research instruments, Statistical treatment.
The survey will be conducted in DLSAU in the Philippines.
The base of the research is in the Philippines.
Please see attached example. Looking for something similar to this but toward the grocery industry or feed/bev industry.
Your case analysis will be prepared as an Insights Memo to an executive individual or leadership team of your choice. This could be your current organization, a past organization or even your dream employer. As the author of the memo, you will apply case analysis to make the mobile-first strategy at said organization even better than it already is.
At the top of your memo, please include the following formatting:
To: [Insert Executive Title, including Company Name]
From: [Insert Your Name, Strategic Media Consultant]
Subject: [Insights from Case Study Title Insert Key Takeaway]
Date: [Insert case analysis due date]
Your audience will be most interested in your interpretations, less so your ability to find interesting charts/visuals. While supporting visuals are key to a compelling case, you are being assessed on what value you can extract, not just what you can find.
There is no one particular style for a good case study analysis. But, there are some common elements to excellent submissions:
Critical thinking counts: Apply our class discussions and readings. Do additional research to find relevant benchmarks/examples that you can apply to the questions. Im looking for more than a repeat of whats stated in the case or a reading: I want to see your unique thoughts and analysis. Take a stand. After analyzing the details of the case study, provide a clear opinion regarding your answers to the case questions. Your analysis should provide some advice to managerial decision-makers that can be applied to other situations beyond this case
Notes and Citations: Its helpful to see which citations applied to your thoughts. Cite specific details regarding key facts and issues of the case. Instead of general observations that apply to any problem, use details from the case study itself. Analyses, observations, and suggestions should be tied directly to those details. At a minimum, I will look for you to draw on the other readings in the course to inform and support your arguments. Higher grades will be awarded to those who use evidence from beyond the course, such as outside research. Provide a balanced perspective. Consider both the pros and cons of your opinion or recommendation.
Design Considerations: You may include an appendix with relevant charts, images, links or screen grabs. If you use screen grabs, please include a link to the source URL. Keep in mind visuals and supporting elements will not count towards the 3-4 page requirement. The length requirement is 750-1,000 words regardless of the number of pages required to produce a relevant analysis.
Your assignments should be submitted via Canvas for grading. A formal rubric for all assignments can be viewed on Canvas.
The case study is available as part of the HBR Coursepack.

J.K. Rowling is known for creating Harry Potter and his magical world. She is among the top selling authors of all time which has made her one of the world’s richest women. Let’s look a little deeper and try to figure how she did it and what role, if any, self leadership played in the process.
J.K. Rowling’s recent comments about trans women have created quite a controversy. The Harry Potter books and movies remain powerful and impactful for fans. Please read the actor Daniel Radcliffe’s response to J.K. Rowling’s comments here:

Social media is a powerful influencer on the young and old; it has become a pervasive part of society. With continuous exposure to messages from advertisements and television programs no one can deny the potential for media sources to influence today’s youth (Gilbert, Sawyer & McNeill 2015 p. 270). Although most of these platform is to entertain, they have the ability to convey messages about health issues. Media has become such an intricate part of society that it is no longer considered to be just a part of our culture, it is considered to be a culture on its own (Ziegler, 2007). Social media is a tool through which existing social networks communicate with each other in new and exciting ways. Consistent with the messages of Saul Alinsky (1971) and Paulo Freire (1973), who showed us that activism is most successful when organizers listen to and engage existing communities, social media offers new venues for such engagement. Gaining the support of key members of those individuals’ social networks into action, because individuals become involved in collective action through their personal connections (Della Porta and Diani 2006). Before you implement your online strategy, you need strong, clear, direct messages targeted toward your audiences. This should be part of your existing communications strategy (Dorfman, 2010). Once you pick your online strategy, it is essential to pick the right metrics to match your strategy so you know if your methods are working. You want to know who your audience is, who access your Facebook page and follow your tweets, and who takes action on your website. You want to know which individuals are engaged and how they engage with your online content. the deeper the relationships that you have built with your audience, the more your efforts will pay off (Minkler, 2012 p. 271-277).
In conclusion, Social media is certainly a great tool to disseminate pertinent health information to the public. It is used by millions of people all over the world. Large organizations like hospitals, CDC etc. use it deliver messages to their audience on a daily basis on health issues that is plaguing society. Many people extract information daily on health issues on medias such as youtube and Facebook to use to their advantage. The strategy is to use the right information to pull the audience closer to get the message across.
