You have now read a bit about the inside view of dental consumer health, science-based health care, mental health and behavioral help, the CAM movement, chiropractic consumer health, and the basic building blocks of nutrition. For this activity, an essay, you are to consider how the knowledge you have gained in this module has or is changing how you view, think about, and consider consumer health based on dentistry or nutrition.

Pick one of the following prompts to write about. Remember to use your formal writing skills (formatting APA, double spaced, New Times Roman or Arial 12 point and include specific references to both your experience and content from the textbook and module links.

Before reading the chapter about dental consumer health you had perceptions about dentistry. Some of those perceptions about dentistry were misconceptions-explain what those misconceptions were? Talk about how you identified that they were misconceptions. Specifically explain what information prompted your change in perception. Describe what you have learned and how you will use what you have learned about dentistry as a consumer.

Nutrition is a large part of our lives because we all have to eat to survive. You learned about the basics building blocks of nutrition in Module 2. Identify what was the most shocking information that you learned about basic nutrition and explain why it made such a large impact on your learning. Explain if and how that information that you learned will change your daily nutritional habits? Describe the rationale for not making or making the change in your daily nutritional habits. Based on your perception and personal experience do you believe a majority of the public understand and know the information you learned? Explain how the public would benefit from learning the information you learned from the nutrition chapter.

1.Giles explains the ways in which her understanding of reflective writing shifted as a result of having to write those darned process notes (193). In 3-4 sentences, describe her original approach to reflective writing and the specific ways in which her perspective and actions changed.
2.According to the section of the reading titled How It Works, what are 2 specific benefits of engaging in reflective writing? How can reflection help us become stronger and more effective writers and communicators?
3.Consider which of the benefits from your response to question 2 connects the most to you and your experiences as a writer. In 4-5 sentences, explain which one(s) you feel like youve experienced in your own writing journey or which one(s) you feel like you could benefit the most from and why.
4.On page 200, Giles writes, My students often resist writing about their composing processes, but its good for them to see and analyze how they did what they did, and it also helps me know what they were thinking when they made composing decisions. She then goes on to explain the specific ways in which reflective writing can help not only the student, but also the instructor. According to Giles, what are at least 3 specific ways in which reflective writing can help the instructor more effectively respond to and understand student writing?
5.Relatedly, is this recognition that reflective writing can help the instructor more effectively respond to their students a new idea for you, or is this an idea you had previously considered/experienced? Explain your response.
6.On page 202, Giles writes, Teachers dont want you to say certain things, we want you to think in certain ways. How do you understand what she means here, and what are some specific ways that reflective writing can help us to get into the productive habit of thinking reflectively? (202)
7.Think about your own experiences with reflective writing. These might be experiences youve had in school on an assignment, writing in a personal journal/diary, at your job, or somewhere else. In 5-7 sentences, describe one specific experience youve had with reflective writing and make at least one specific connection to something Giles writes in this article. Here, you might respond to one of the following questions:
-Do your personal experiences with reflective writing agree with something Giles says? If so, what is the agreement?
-Do your personal experiences with reflective writing contradict something Giles says? If so, what is the contradiction?

Prior to beginning work on the Final Paper, read Steven Strauss article, The Connection Between Education, Income Inequality, and Unemployment. In your Final Paper, you should address the following based on the information presented in the article and other research:

Describe how a country can measure its income inequality.

Evaluate the effect of income inequality on the U.S. economy, such as unemployment, economic growth, and other economic factors.

Estimate the gap between those who hold bachelors and higher (master or doctoral) degrees and those who do not.

Explain reasons why the inequality gap between educated and less-educated workers has been widening.

Evaluate whether increasing opportunities for higher education can reduce income inequality.

Look back at your posts for this project (attached). Then write a 500-word reflection on this assignment process.  In addition to reflecting on your findings, your reflection should discuss the ways in which this activity informed your understanding of research. The following questions are designed to help you think about what you can discuss in this reflection:

1.What were you curious about when you looked at this organization/movement and the texts they create and the texts about them? What interests you? What did you want to investigate? In your opinion, why should people care about this issue?
2.Look at the conversation as a whole. What background information do readers need in order to follow the conversation you are writing about? Based on your sources, what are the various viewpoints in this conversation? On what points do your sources generally agree or disagree?
3.What do you now understand about the larger conversation surrounding this topic as a result of listening to various voices and perspectives?  What does it show you about the ways that conversations about important topics take place and who is involved in those conversations?

Evidence-Based Practice Guideline

Write a fully developed and detailed APA essay addressing each of the following points/questions. be sure to completely answer all the questions for each question in detail. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Sources are not required; however, if sources are used make sure to cite using the APA writing style for the essay and complete a reference page. The cover page is required.

Utilize the databases identified in the text to locate an Evidence-Based Practice Guideline, related to my topic of (see attached). Perform a rapid critical appraisal of the Evidence-Based Guideline by answering the following questions in APA format. All questions should be answered in detail and explanations offered according to guideline content when applicable.

Who were the guideline developers?
Were the developers of the guideline representative of key stakeholders in this specialty (inter-disciplinary)?
Who funded the guideline development? 
Were any of the guideline developers funded researchers of the reviewed studies?
Did the team have a valid development strategy?
Was an explicit (how decisions were made), sensible, and impartial process used to identify, select, and combine evidence?
Did its developers carry out comprehensive, reproducible literature review within the past 12 months of its publication/revision?
Were all important options and outcomes considered?
Is each recommendation in the guideline tagged by the level/strength of evidence upon which it is based and linked to the scientific evidence?
Do the guidelines make explicit recommendations (reflecting value judgments about the outcomes)?
Has the guideline been subjected to peer review and testing?
Is the intent of use provided (i.e. national, regional, local)?
Are the recommendations clinically relevant?
Will the recommendations help me in caring for my patients?
Are the recommendations practical/feasible? Are resources (people and equipment) available?
Are the recommendations a major variation from current practice? Can the outcomes be measured through standard care?
