Ephesians Outline
Based on your chosen Ephesians passage, create a tentative outline of your entire final paper. Use numbers 2-6 in the outline model in Appendix 2 of the textbook (pp. 455-456) for the major section headings and content of each part of your paper. Under each sectional heading tentatively outline what you plan to present in that section. Section 2 is to include your personal outline of the chosen Ephesians passage.

This tentative outline may be refined as you write the paper for submission next week.

Your final project is to be 6-8 pages, not including the Title and Resources pages, instead of the 9-13 pages indicated in the textbook model. Therefore, your page allocations should be as follows:

Main idea and passage outline – page (Indicate the translation you are using.)

Introduction page

Context 1 page

Content 3-5 pages

Application 1 page

Grading will be based on your adherence to these page limits.

Use APA formatted headings to identify each section of the paper.

Submit your tentative project outline along with the Title and References pages for your final paper by the posted due date using the link above.

For specific help in formatting an exegetical paper Duvall & Hays provide a link on the first page for A Short Guide To Writing Exegetical Papers. This is an excellent resource, but it does not show APA formatting.

Write an essay (with introduction and conclusion) on the suggested topic.
Your introduction should include the thesis statement – main idea of the paper (here is more detailed explanation – https://essayshark.com/blog/how-to-write-a-thesis-statement-to-make-it-clear/). Don’t include any new information in the conclusion. It should  restate the thesis statement of the paper.

The analysis helps you determine what to say before you attempt to communicate with an audience. That’s your task : pick your presentation topic for Assignment 3 and Assignment 5, analyze your A5 presentation audience and situation in order to figure out what you have to say to this audience in order to fulfill your purpose.  You will not be writing to the audience in this Assignment 1 but rather to me, your instructor.  You will not be writing to the audience in A3, the research memo, but rather to me, your instructor. You will present A5 as if to the real audience later in the semester.

Describe the results of your A1 Analysis to me in a memo, uploaded to Moodle as a PDF or written in the text editor available where you submit the assignment.

Write in full sentences or point form as instructed.

1.    In point form, list at least three features of the context/situation.

2.    In full sentences, in your own words, state and analyze four important characteristics of this audience as those characteristics relate to your purpose in writing.  Look back at the textbook and the previous CMAPP analysis.

3.    In point form, name and explain three important barriers to communication in this situation.

4.    State the main message for your communication.

5.    In point form, state the purpose.

6.    In full sentences, state why the presentation (product) will be the best channel to deliver your message. (The students will watch the presentation but they are not the real audience).

TASK
The analysis helps you determine what to say and how to say it before you attempt to
communicate with an audience. You will be writing an analysis on the situation below.

Your business sells, maintains and repairs residential elevators for senior citizens and people
with disabilities. You want to develop some new partnerships and also continue to improve
your elevator design so that it has voice recognition capability and integrates with the rest of a
“smart” home in the future. You want to develop new contacts and partnerships for your
development and for future business. You want to approach Spinal Cord Injury BC to 1) get their
advice; 2) identify some new strategic partners; and/or 3) be provided with networking contacts
of those willing to invest. (See information on the association below.) You have heard that there
are about 100,000 people with spinal cord injuries in Canada.
