Next, respond to the following questions and post your responses to the discussions on the discussion board.  Then, respond to peers posts; interact with your peers on the discussion board.

Do you think that racial segregation in public school hurts the separated races, assuming the schools are equal in terms of facilities, class size, teacher pay, etc?
Is the harm greater for one race than for the other?
If there were a law in our state requiring the racial segregation of public school students, would you feel branded as inferior?
Many schools today are virtually all white or all-minority, even though no law requires segregation
This is sometimes called de facto segregation. Do you think de facto segregation has a detrimental effect on students?

1. What are some of the subtle ways that racism is manifested in the workplace?

2. With the holidays quickly approaching, most companies put on a party for their employees.  However, according to an article that I read online, a large majority of these parties are focused on Christmas, even though ten of millions of employees dont celebrate Christmas. Do you think that employers are accommodating to all races and consider their holiday practices when they plan the party?  Or from personal experience, have you found that most employers focus solely on hosting a Christmas themed party?

3. I have applied for several promotions within the 3 years I’ve been at my company. Two positions were supervisors and although I made it through the first few steps, I never got a promotion. Since then I’ve applied for other leadership roles with less responsibility but I am still being stonewalled. Nearly all feedback I have been given was that I ‘lacked experience’ which basically translated that I was too young to have that much authority. How do I overcome this stigma of being ‘too young to be in charge’?

4. I am curious your opinions on if pre-employment talent assessment tests would render discriminatory or not and why?

Think about the overall context of the Great Depression. Do you think these letters are representative of the struggles of the population? Or are these letters the exception? Additionally, all of these people are writing the President and his wife for help. Why do you think they have chosen to write to them rather than another government official or agency?

Over this course, you may find some of the assigned reading chapters more interesting or challenging than others, depending on your own background, interests, or beliefs. This assignment gives you the opportunity to interact more deeply and share your insights on one such chapter. You are responsible for submitting a 3- to 4-page Book Chapter Review, which will critique one chapter
of your choosing from The Book That Made Your World. At a minimum, a chapter review should include:
A clear statement of the chapter you have selected;
A definition or description of the cultural issue/ topic at hand;
A description of the Christian response to that issue, according to the author or according to
what you have learned about Christianity in this course so far;
Your thoughtful response to the ideas set forth in the chapter (e.g., Do you agree with the
author on how the cultural issue is framed? Is something missing? Do you agree with the
Christian response? Is such a response realistic? Does the discussion in your selected
chapter align with or challenge your views about Christianity? Have you seen examples of
this in real life?).
You can choose one chapter from chapter 1. The West Without Its Soul: From Bach to Cobain to chapter 16. Compassion: Why Did Caring Become Medical Commitment?

Below is the assignment instruction. Use military unit as the base of your response as far as organization goes.

See attached exhibits 3.1. & 3.4 and explain your responses after each exhibit:

Write a brief introduction to these two tools (in Abstract Paragraph) and then complete each based on your current organization. After each exhibit, write two paragraphs explaining your selections – why did you make the selections?
At the end of your document, provide a brief conclusion and what you learned from completing these tools as it applies to Virtual teaming.
