Research different stereotypes about Islam, Arabs, and Muslims (Ex: All Muslims are terrorists, Islam oppresses women, etc). Once you found a stereotype on this topic, start researching and guide the essay on that particular stereotype.

Format of essay:
Introduction: Make a good, interesting, and attention grabbing hook. Make a solid thesis.

Point one: State what the stereotype is using research and citing as you write.

Point two: Restate the stereotype and debunk the stereotype (explain why or how it is not true).

Point three: Provide all of the evidence explaining why this stereotype is not true and why it is negative.

Conclusion: Make a solid conclusion to end the essay.

uses Locke’s Letter Concerning Toleration and Plato’s Republic.
this is the entire essay topic
In “A Letter Concerning Toleration” Locke champions religious toleration in contrast with the restrictive practices of the churches of his day and the states that enforced these.  Socrates, by contrast,  practices intolerance In constructing his city in speech, suppressing the opinions about the gods prevalent among his contemporaries  (Republic 376c-403a).  Yet even Lockes toleration has its limits (beginning with intolerant religions, of course).  How do Lockes criteria for exclusion compare with those of Socrates?  How do their differences on this issue reflect their different political goals?

Please Read the Attached Reading ( Second Treatise, Ch. 1-11; 14; 18-19) then do the following:
Please make a post offering at least two thoughtful and substantive questions, reflections, or comments (QRCs) inspired by the material below.

– At least one QRC must explicitly identify a passage( quote a passage and then respond to it) from the reading attached that you found intriguing, confusing, enlightening, etc. to lift up for consideration. You should quote the passage in full in your post along with a clear citation so others can easily find it in the text, and briefly explain your reasons for highlighting this passage this can come in the form of substantive questions about, interpretations of, or challenges to the ideas expressed in the passage.

For the second QRC, you may choose to lift up another passage, but you are not required to do so. Instead you may choose to offer a more general question about the ideas under consideration, a reaction to the podcast lecture, an argument you are trying to work out, or a connection you have made, or events in the world.

In other words, each paper should have two clearly distinct QRCs, at least one of which lifts up a passage from the text.

Prepare and submit an 8-10 page (+ references) scholarly paper (1.5-line spacing) with proper citations (Chicago Manual of Style or American Psychological Association style) addressing one significant historical aspect or conception of human dignity that you assert remains relevant to contemporary public policy (in the United States, another country, or globally), but which you think has a high probability of being impacted (for better or for worse) by the climate change crisis. Describe that probable impact, and what it might signify, specifically from a moral and ethical perspective. (20% of total grade). Include interpretations of human dignity with appropriate references to Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, but also other sources from Cicero to Nussbaum.

You will review the provided chapter from the CQ Issues for Debate text. You must submit a 600 minimum word response memo for this case. The purpose of this memo is to meaningfully engage with the material from he chapter and this through the structural, institutional and economic factors that gave rise tot he use of for-profit prisoning as a policy response. Please address the following in the memo using specific and relevant examples from the text:

1) what was the impetus behind utilizing for-profit prisons? what policy changes led to their ubiquity?
2) do for-profit prisons out-perform government-run facilities on any metric? If so, how do they accomplish this? if not, why not?
3) are there human rights/justice issues with for-profit prisons? if so, what are they? why do they nonetheless persist?
4) in your opinions, are for-profit prisons effective? Are they ethically acceptable? Why or why not?

Submission will be evaluated on a simple 1-5 scale where 5 means that the submission thoughtfully engages with the underlying issue and backs up its arguments with clear logic and examples, a 3 means the submission is sufficient but is heavy on personal opinion and summary with little synthesis or specific examples and a 1 means that the submission has either not thoughtfully engaged with the main questions of the topic or fails to achieve the minimum requirements for the assignment.
