We look at the justice system, particularly in relation to race and the death penalty, through the eyes of Bryan Stevenson.  His memoir Just Mercy brings the humanity into full view as we receive the full stories of individuals who have experienced unfair treatment within our justice system.  For this assignment, read the first seven chapters of the book and write about a story within those chapters that you found thought-provoking and compelling. What spoke to you through this story? Why did it draw you in? What did you learn? Be sure to cite directly from the memoir when supporting your answer.

Due to the three parts to this assignment, if accepted, I’ll release the first half of payment when part 1 of this assignment is finished.

The project has three parts.  All three classes are to be worked within the starter code provided for you.

The starter code that is mandatory for this has been included in the attachments, thank you for your time.
________________________________________________________________________________________

Part I:

Work in class Circle.

Design a class named Circle with double fields named radius and circumference and area.  Include a no argument constructor that set the radius to 1 and calculates the other two values.  Include a second constructor that accepts a value for the radius.

public Circle()

public Circle(double radius)

Calculations:

The circumference is 2*pi*r.

The area is pi*r^2.

Use Math.PI for this calculation.

Include methods getRadius() and setRadius().  Also include a method getArea() and getCircumference().

The main method to enter data and display the data is provided for you.  You are to finish the Circle class in the Circle.java file.

Part II:

Work in class CheckArray.

Using a method

has4or5(int [] arr)

that reads in an integer array, return whether or not the array contains a 4 or 5.

If a 4 or 5 is found in the array, return true.  If no 4 or 5 can be found in the array, return false.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Part III:

Work in class ArraySize.

Start with 2 int arrays, a and b, each length 4. Consider the sum of the values in each array. Return the array which has the largest sum. In event of a tie, return a.

First, you’ll need to choose a topic for your final essay, which will be at least 1,000 words in length. This is the topic you will use to create your outline in Week 2 and final essay in Week 3. Choose ONE of the topics below.

Option 1:

The American Dream lecture in Week 1 points out that Poor Richards Almanac was an annual publication that included calendar lists, home recipes, weather forecasts etc. What made Franklins almanac unlike other almanacs was the inclusion of Franklins witty parables and humorous writings.  Franklin proposes in The Way to Wealth that anyone who works hard, avoids debt, and works toward attaining a virtuous character can be successful and ultimately wealthythat the American Dream is accessible to all.

Watch either The Color Purple or The Great Gatsby (locate the films using Netflix, Amazon, or your local library) and argue why or why not Franklins assertions are correct. Provide examples from the film and your own explanations to support your assertions.

Your will have two choices for your thesis statement:

As is evident in the film The Color Purple (or The Great Gatsby), Franklins assertion that the American Dream is available to all people is incorrect because _________, ___________, and _________ (you will determine three points in support of your thesis, and those will become the topics of your three body paragraphs).

As is evident in the film The Color Purple (or The Great Gatsby), Franklins assertion that the American Dream is available to all people is correct because _________, ___________, and _________ (you will determine three points in support of your thesis, and those will become the topics of your three body paragraphs).

The assignment

1. Each person is to write an internal memo ( as a business writing assignment) from the perspective of a corporate official whose corporation is facing a crisis. An internal memo is not meant for public consumption but rather as a means for employees to discuss issues affecting the company.

2. When a company is facing a crisis, the usual response is to form a crisis management team, usually but not necessarily consisting of senior officials at the C-suite level (e.g., CEO, COO, CFO, CRO, CMO, GC) to resolve. Essentially, whether in groups or individually, the task is to 1. identify a company in crisis, 2. select a role, 3. identify the recipient of the your memo, and 4.write a memo from the perspective of the role each of you have chosen. Such memos usually include the context of the memo (why it is being written), a problem or issue that needs to be addressed, 3. recommended action, 4. predicted outcome if the action is either taken or not taken.

3. For convenience, most you are organized into groups (of varying sizes) Due to rescheduling and reshuffling of three teams in Section 01 due to technology failures during the group discussion, some are even working independently. That is fine as the task is the same (see 1). The members of a group do not have to agree on a particular course of action. Often corporate officials are often bitterly divided as to what action to take. Your memos may reflect such disagreement. If you do, you can argue why your course of action is preferable to other solutions.

Hello, this is course is called International Political Economy.
Please read the case “Food Fight” and write a memo.
The memo example is uploaded and please be precise and don’t waste words on introduce the case, instead solve the case. Thank you! Two page double spaced maximum! Thank you!

For Essay 2, we will be focusing on two broad topics. The first broad topic is REALLY broad, and that is the topic of entertainment. If you were to take out a piece of paper and write Entertainment at the top, and someone asked you to think of every single thing that people consider a form of entertainment, how many words could you think of? I’m sure we could all think of words to fill the entire page or several pages. That’s how broad this topic is. I would suggest starting to think about this first theme by doing that for yourself. Then look back over your list and see what specific aspect of that word you’d like to focus on.

For example, if you listed “sports,” that is still really broad. If you narrowed that down to “football,” that’s still really broad. Keep going. Keep narrowing.

The reading assignment here barely touches the surface of entertainment. You will really need to think about this topic on your own.

However, we will get warmed up anyway. First, go read Entertainment: The Rhetorical Situation.

I’ve attached the reading and the questions are at the bottom. Answer 2 of the 4 questions under the introduction.

Then watch “How Social Media Makes Us Unsocial” and write a strong one-paragraph response to it.

Given what was covered in this week’s readings and your proposed research study, identify the population from which your participants will be selected, how many participants you want to have in your study, and what sampling strategy you will use. Support your answers with citations from your readings or other resources you locate.
Domestic Violence Against Men

In your 3-4 page response to The Trouble with Wilderness; or Getting Back to the Wrong Nature, William Cronon argues our idealization of wilderness has led us astray.  Wilderness has become the battle ground in many discussions of conservation and protection of natural resources.  Historically, the concept of Wilderness has been at the heart of some battles between Utilitarian Conservationist and Preservationist. Ultimately, Cronon is asking you to exam what Wilderness means to you and how it shapes your priorities for conservation. Your paper should be typed (word processed), double spaced, with 1-inch margins, no header (name should be right or left justified).
You are not required to read any related materials outside of the essay itself, However, by citing others work you strengthen your argument.  Please avoid statements that are opinion written as if they are fact.  If you do use other sources, you must provide references to all sources you used at the end of your essay. The format of citation is not critical if it is formatted consistently and allows the reader to find the materials.
Please avoid direct quotes whenever possible.  You may find a need it quoting a particular thought of Cronons, but first consider if you can paraphrase.

See the articke “The Trouble with Wilderness” attached.

elect a community organization or group that you feel would be interested in learning about ethical and policy issues that affect the coordination of care. Then, develop and record a 10-12-slide, 20-minute presentation, with audio, intended for that audience. Create a detailed narrative script for your presentation, 4-5 pages in length.

As coordinators of care, nurses must be aware of the code of ethics for nurses and health policy issues that affect the coordination of care within the context of the community. To help patients navigate the continuum of care, nurses must be proficient at interpreting and applying the code of ethics for nurses and health policy, specifically, the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Being knowledgeable about ethical and policy issues helps ensure that care coordinators are upholding ethical standards and navigating policy issues that affect patient care.

This assessment provides an opportunity for you to develop a presentation for a local community organization of your choice, which provides an overview of ethical standards and relevant policy issues that affect the coordination of care. Completing this assessment will strengthen your understanding of ethical issues and policies related to the coordination and continuum of care, and will empower you to be a stronger advocate and nursing professional.

It would be an excellent choice to complete the Vila Health: Ethical Decision Making activity prior to developing the presentation. The activity provides a helpful update on the ethical principles that will help with success in this assessment.

Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria:

Competency 4: Defend decisions based on the code of ethics for nursing.
Assess the impact of the code of ethics for nurses on the coordination and continuum of care.
Competency 5: Explain how health care policies affect patient-centered care.
Explain how governmental policies related to the health and/or safety of a community affect the coordination of care.
Identify national, state, and local policy provisions that raise ethical questions or dilemmas for care coordination.
Competency 6: Apply professional, scholarly communication strategies to lead patient-centered care.
Communicate key ethical and policy issues in a presentation affecting the coordination and continuum of care for a selected community organization or support group. Either speaker notes or audio voice-over are included.
Preparation
Your nurse manager at the community care center is well connected and frequently speaks to a variety of community organizations and groups. She has noticed the good work you are doing in your new care coordination role and respects your speaking and presentation skills. Consequently, she thought that an opportunity to speak publicly about contemporary issues in care coordination would be beneficial for your career and has suggested reaching out to a community organization or support group to gauge their interest in hearing from you, as a care center representative, on a topic of interest to both you and your prospective audience.

You have agreed that this is a good idea and have decided to research a community organization or support group that might be interested in learning about ethical and policy issues related to the coordination of care. Your manager has suggested the following community organizations and support groups, but acknowledges that the choice is yours.

Homeless shelters.
Local religious groups.
Nursing homes.
Local community organizations (Rotary Club or Kiwanis Club).
To prepare for this assessment, you may wish to:

Research your selected community organization or support group.
Review the Code of Ethics for Nurses With Interpretive Statements and associated health policy issues, specifically, the ACA.
Review the assessment instructions and scoring guide to ensure you understand the work you will be asked to complete.
Allocate sufficient time to rehearse your presentation before recording the final version for submission.
