I HAVE TO PICK A TOPIC EXAMPLE: The criminology and victimology aspects of sex crimes

you are revealing how criminology and victimology can be used in the criminal investigation of any crime, criminal, or even predict a victim of a specific crime. In the topic assignment, you are merely selecting a crime area in which you are interested.  You are selecting three sources to show there is relevant information on the topic as it relates to criminology and/or victimology. There should be citation included in the abstract to show what that source will contribute. Using the information learned in unit I, along with my additional research, I would show how criminology can be use explain sexual assaults based on scientific research.  Unit II and III will help me show what instruments are used to determine who commits it, when, where, and to who this crime is commit and the role this information plays with social policy. The learned information would be provided.  I will then make the connection to the criminological and/or victimology perspectives can help law enforcement profiling this type of criminal or predict who is most likely to be a victim of this type of crime. This is the part that will require you to do the most outside research. You can even provide specific criminological perspectives to show the connection.  For sex crimes, I would you the social learning theory for offenders and lifestyle theories for victims.

INSTRUCTIONS

The purpose of this research paper is to provide you with the opportunity to review the theories of criminology and victimology and determine the contributions made by both studies. What is the history of criminology? When did victimology arise as a theory relating to why crimes exist in our society? How did each of these studies generate investigative strategies such as offender profiling and victim profiling? Geographic profiling/crime mapping may contribute to investigative procedures as well.

With the advent of technology, these theories have expanded tremendously as software has enabled re-creation of the crime scene within the presentation prepared for the courts. Offender profiling can help investigators focus investigative efforts toward a specific type of offender, which leads them toward research determining past offenders who foster such characteristics and those offenders who are presently on parole.

This, of course, leads to crime mapping, which relates to victims as much as offenders. The crime mapping technique helps investigators track victims of similar crimes as well as offenders of similar crimes, which can be cross-referenced with the information relating to recent parolees who may match the profile of a specific crime. Additionally, both of these services may help locate an unknown offender based on surveys of communities to determine any unknown suspects that may live or work in proximity to the crimes or crimes.

This assignment empowers you to research to determine how the criminal justice system relies on criminology and victimology to help solve present crimes as well as predict similar crimes in the future.

We are going to be practicing our role playing skills during this discussion module.  To begin, pick your favorite macromolecule.  Pick a specific one, not just a class (such as nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates, proteins).  State exactly where your’s is found, for example, cholesterol in the plasma membrane.  What is the function, chemical structure, three dimensional shape, what types of bonds are present, where it is found, what it interacts with, etc?  Include a drawing of your macromolecule and attach it to your first post.  This must be hand drawn or created with something like Microsoft paint.

Also create a real life analogy about your molecule and the bonds found within it.  For example, covalent bonds are like two children that want to play with the same toy, so they set up a timer on Alexa to switch between turns playing.  Create different analogies than any previous posters, so read before you post.
