After your topic has been approved, the next step is to research current articles and publications (within one year) and write an outline. You will need to use at least six credible sources that provide objective, authoritative, and accurate descriptions of your selected microeconomics topic. Two of your sources must be from academic journals. Your sources can include the following:

Academic journals
Financial and economic publications like the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, and industry-specific publications
Newspapers such as the New York Times and the Washington Post
Research databases like ProQuest
Use the Library (Links to an external site.) to conduct your research. Do not use Investopedia or Wikipedia.

You may write a formal outline or present your information in paragraph form using current APA formatting. Regardless of the outline format, you must provide the following:

Details that align with your microeconomics topic
List of your sources
Two of the sources must be from academic journals.

This writing project includes a comprehensive application of the elements of critical reasoning that we are studying in this course. The main objective is to use the critical thinking strategies described in the course to analyze and evaluate contrasting arguments. You can preview the requirements for the final paper in the Week 8 assignment below.

This is not an opinion piece or persuasive essay. The goal is to present contrasting arguments using information from credible sources and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of these positions using content from the course.

As you put this together, are you following the critical analysis process that we emphasize in critical reasoning? This means fairly considering all research equally before reaching a conclusion.

Your rough draft should include 12 paragraphs for each of the following elements:

Introduction: Identify the issue/topic. Provide the necessary background and important recent developments. Define key terms and concepts.
Arguments and Counterarguments: Summarize the best arguments on both sides of the issue. Include relevant research from credible sources used to support each conclusion.
Evaluation of Critical Thinking: Assess the strength of the arguments and the quality of thinking surrounding this issue.
Identify weaknesses in critical thinking such as fallacies, rhetorical devices, vague language, and cognitive biases. Provide specific examples of how these weaknesses appear in arguments, using terminology and definitions from the course
Evaluate the quality of scientific and anecdotal evidence using the standards of inductive and deductive reasoning described in the course. Consider the quality of causal relationship, analogies, generalizations, and/or moral reasoning.
Conclusion: Analyze the totality of research and offer a critical thinkers response to the issue. Identify your own position and experience with the issue and explain how your thinking of the subject has evolved as a result of your analysis.
You must use a minimum of 5 research references in APA Style and include in-text citations in your paragraphs. Include a minimum of 3 academic peer-reviewed books or journal articles. Other sources may be used as supplemental sources, such as journalistic, government, web-based, or media sources. Sources should not include dictionaries, encyclopedias, or general information websites like Wikipedia. Consult your instructor regarding any source of which you unsure. Use the WCU Library as your best resource. (i need just one or one and half page for the rough draft.)

Write a ten-page paper on Antifia or the Proud Boys.  Give a short description of what they stand for, and their history.  Do you think the group that you chose should be allowed to do what they are doing?  Take a side and explain if you think what they are doing is free speech or hate speech and should it be allowed to occur.  One last thing, do you think, that either one of these groups could become a terrorist organization.

You must use social media to do this assignment. Please list all urls that you viewed and used to come to your conclusion.  I recommend that you use YouTube to review speeches given by either of the two groups.

After viewing the film, please answer the questions below.  Note that questions may be in compound form.  Although there is not a required word count for each question, you should be careful to answer each question completely and fully.

How does the film, A Class Divided, speak to diversity perspectives?
How were stereotypes introduced by Elliott?  Why do you suppose they were effective?
Using theory, how did Elliott designate clear roles? Why do you suppose the students went along with it?
What was it like to be a blue-eyed student Day 1?  In what ways was it different in Day 2? How did things change once the kids roles were switched?
Using the four dimensions of empowerment, examine and describe the process Elliott used to structure team empowerment.
Using theory and concepts describe how group identify was created by Elliott.
Using the textbook Reinventing Diversity, how does this film relate to the challenges and benefits of member diversity?
How do you believe this film, and the experiment, will change your perception and attitude towards diversity? What are the three key takeaways from A Class Divided?

Prompt:

God has given each Christian two vitally important gifts. The first is the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, his work of redemption, and thus forgiveness of sin. The second is the gift of one or more special abilities, which are to be used for the purpose of unifying the body of Christ and for the growth of God’s Kingdom. These abilities are called spiritual gifts and they are received through our baptism.

The Spiritual Gifts Assessment helps individuals identify their God-given gifts for living faithfully as Christian disciples day by day and find meaningful ways to use their gifts in connection with others through the community of faith. The process helps people understand the nature of spiritual gifts and ways to enhance the effectiveness of their gifts by linking together with others.

Romans 12:3 states, For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

1 Corinthians 12:4 states, There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

Exploring and exercising your spiritual gifting is a vital and exciting part of your spiritual journey. The link below offers a tool to help you discern the spiritual gifts God has given you.

List and describe your top five spiritual gifts? Which gifts are task oriented and help with productivity?  Which gifts contribute to the socio-emotional well-being of the team and its members? How can you use these gifts to develop and contribute to effective teamwork? Now, taking a deeper look, examine if your spiritual gifts can contribute to either building teamwork or competent leadership (as defined in chapter 7). Explain.

Week 5: Learning Materials
Overview
Whether or not your company has a union, you need to understand the National Labor Relations Act, the principal federal law that governs collective bargaining. If you belong to a union or represent management in dealing with a union, it is critical that you are conversant with your collective bargaining agreement, its work rules and grievance processes as well as legal matters such as unfair labor practices. While we will not have time to explore the fascinating history of unions in the United States or trends in union-management relations, you will enjoy this brief foray into labor law.

Learning Outcomes
Recognize issues raised by the National Labor Relations Act and other labor laws and how they impact human resource management practices in the workplace.
Critically evaluate the processes of union representation elections and collective bargaining.
Learn to assess and solve labor issues such as concerted activity, grievance processes and unfair labor practices.

Remember the word argument does not mean a fight in a writing context. An academic argument is more like a thoughtful conversation between two people with differing viewpoints on a debatable issue. However, you are required to take a position on one side of the issue.

In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the touchstone.

Your submission must include an APA style reference page following the essay. In your research, you will need 2-4 credible primary or secondary sources to use as support in your essay.

ASSIGNMENT: Write a 4-6 page (approximately 1000-1500 word) argumentative essay using the classical model supported by evidence and research.
