Employee Development and Performance

Scenario
Continuing from the Strategy, Planning, and Selection assignment, you were selected as the new HR director for the retail company and now have been in the position for approximately six months. Your approach to strategy, planning, and selection have been quite successful thus far, and now it is time to address the organization’s expectation for performance and development of employees
since these components of HR strategy are critical in achieving business outcomes and success.

Instructions

Critically analyze and discuss any researched (web or textbook) training process model you may consider for use in developing employees (Here’s an idea: The Addie Model or exhibit 7-1, page 230 in the textbook). Then, identify and discuss some possible challenges that might be faced in implementing a new training process in the company.

Make sure you add this book reference

PC-3.5: Engage in career development and advancement strategies, including effective networking, mentoring, and creating a personal brand.

You have reviewed various resources for propelling your career forward. You started with your IDP and learning styles and values, short and long-term goals, and now it is time to start putting these goals into action.

After reviewing the Learning Activities regarding personal branding and social networking and your reading concerning mentoring, you will apply these concepts to your career based on your stated goals.

In a minimum of a 2-page (i.e., 500-word double-spaced) APA formatted essay (i.e., introduction, checklist item content, and conclusion), with an additional title page, address the following checklist items:

Checklist:

1. Applying the concepts addressed in the branding activity, provide your own personal branding statement and explain how you will use it to leverage your career success.
2. Describe the ongoing networking you will need to do in order to continue to develop your brand.
3. Identify a potential mentor who might be able to help you achieve your career goals. Explain why they would be effective mentors.

The readings and learning activities are uploaded in additional materials

1. A reflection paper is your identification of the main themes of the readings integrated with your classroom experience and how both affect your thinking and practice.
2. A reflection paper is your chance to add your thoughts and analysis to what you have read and experienced. It is meant to illustrate your understanding of the material and how it affects your ideas.
3. Unlike research papers, reflection papers are written in a less formal style, with the author’s ideas and perspective being the focus of the essay. To substantiate these ideas, you must also incorporate supporting evidence from the article you have chosen and/or outside sources into your reflection paper.
3. Begin by jotting down some of the reading material and class experiences that stand out in your mind. Decide why they stand out to you.
4. Using the first person singular (I), relate the readings and classes to your previous knowledge and experience and consider if and how what you have read and learned changes your thinking on the particular topic. How so?
5. In your first two paragraphs, you must identify the readingss that you will be reflecting on (state name of authors and title of readings). Briefly discuss the subject of the articles and talk about your preconceptions of the subject, as well as a brief summary of your initial reaction.
6. In the body of the essay, you can discuss the articles one at a time. You can discuss the first article and then in your discussion of the second, make connections or engage with the first article. Or, you can choose to discuss 2 to 3 main points that are made in both articles that are similar or maybe they are different arguments. What do you agree/disagree with? You can make links with your own personal lives, events in your communities, events in the news etc. You can also draw on a class film/documentary. Remember, a good compare/contrast essay doesn’t only point out how the subjects are similar or different (or even both!). It uses those points to make a meaningful argument about the subjects.
7. As you conclude your essay, discuss what you learned from the readings? What questions did the readings raise? What are the implications of what you have read?
8. If you include any other articles, please cite them. Include in-text references and a reference page for any materials you cite using APA or Chicago Manual of Style citation formatting.

Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care. Conducting a family interview and needs assessment gathers information to identify strengths, as well as potential barriers to health. This information ultimately helps develop family-centered strategies for support and guidance.
This family health assessment is a two-part assignment. The information you gather in this initial assignment will be utilized for the second assignment in Topic 3.
Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health patterns for each of the following:
Values/Health Perception
Nutrition
Sleep/Rest
Elimination
Activity/Exercise
Cognitive
Sensory-Perception
Self-Perception
Role Relationship
Sexuality
Coping
Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the family to conduct an interview. Utilize the interview questions complied in your interview questionnaire to conduct a family-focused functional assessment. Document the responses as you conduct the interview.
Upon completion of the interview, write a 750-1,000-word paper. Analyze your assessment findings. Submit your questionnaire as an appendix with your assignment.
Include the following in your paper:
Describe the family structure. Include individuals and any relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity, social class, spirituality, and environment.
Summarize the overall health behaviors of the family. Describe the current health of the family.
Based on your findings, describe at least two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the findings. Discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers to health were identified.
Describe how family systems theory can be applied to solicit changes in family members that, in turn, initiate positive changes to the overall family functions over time.
Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
