. Issues in Education Paper – Candidates will select a topic/issue to research that
impacts education, schools, and/or teaching and learning today.
a.) Premise Statement and Three Questions: Develop a premise statement and
three questions regarding the selected issue. Make the connections with your course
texts, current readings, in relation to how this issue affects teacher candidates and
educators in the teaching and learning process. A premise is a statement in an
argument that provides reason or support for the conclusion. There can be one or
many premises in a single argument. A conclusion is a statement in an argument that
indicates of what the arguer is trying to convince the reader/listener.

-Come up with a suitably catchy headline, identifying your interview subject
-Come up with 3-5 questions for your subject, and your subject’s responses

-Include the publication where you imagine this interview running, consistent with its rhetorical situation (it’s fine just to type it at the top for this draft!)

-Stick to a Q&A format

-Include links to at least 2 style models at the end. Your style models should be interviews that are published on a similar website (rhetorical situation) as where you imagine your own interview being published.

In this assignment, you’ll submit a 3-4 page paper in which you present a case study of a fictional character.You may choose any fictional character from a book, movie, TV show, or another source.  Make sure your character exhibits symptoms of a psychological disorder, as that will be the focus of this paper. (See attachments for OpenStax sources.)

As you write your paper, please refer to these steps:

1) Introduce your character with some identifying information (name, age, and so on).  Make sure to include the origin of your character (what book, movie, or TV show is s/he from?).

2) Provide a brief history of your character’s case.  What do you know about his or her childhood?  When did s/he first develop symptoms of mental illness?  What might have contributed to this onset (nature, nurture, or both)? 

3) Provide a diagnosis and description of symptoms.  Which psychological disorder(s) do you feel best fits your character’s symptoms?  Include several examples of situations in which he or she exhibited signs of this disorder, being specific about which symptoms were present in these cases.  Please include at least three detailed examples; this should be the longest section of your paper.

4) Include treatment recommendations.  Given your character’s symptoms, would you recommend therapy (which type?), medication (which class?), or some other intervention?  Explain your reasoning. You might have to consult OpenStax Chapter 16 for this.

5) Briefly conclude your paper. You can tie your conclusion into the above section on treatment, or you can add a short concluding paragraph afterward.

Using the internet, conduct a web search and provide the following information. You may need to visit more than one website to obtain all the information.

The Social Network is a biographical drama adapted from the 2009 Ben Mezrich book, The Accidental Billionaire. The movie portrays the founding of the social networking website Facebook and the resulting lawsuits. It should be noted that some of the key figures in the story call the movie a dramatization of history and Mark Zuckerberg has noted that the much of the films plot was not factual. However, Eduardo Saverin was a consultant for the book.
With that said, write a 1-2 page essay describing THREE issues that arose in the early years of Facebook, specifically about relationships, roles, and rewards. I am not looking for a critique of the movie. Think about the following:
Rewards: How was the initial founding equity split determined? Was it done properly? Would you have done it differently?
Roles: What role did Sean parker play in the venture? Did that conflict with Eduardo Saverins role in the venture?
Relationships: Based upon the movie, how did Zuckerberg, as the main founder, handle the various relationships that he had?
There may be other themes that arise from the movie as well. You may explore any of those instead of the above issues as long as they relate to the concepts in the course.

In your readings this week, focus on the discussion of leadership in health care as a relational act that really is acting on our own sense of identity, self-esteem, and abilities. Considering these characteristics of yourself, how can you as a leader use these traits to improve and engage in communications within your interprofessional teams?

After a Hard Days Work at ACME

In this Module 2 SLP, you have the opportunity to delve further into the talent management function and HRs role in it. As you may recall from the video on talent management– performance management, learning and motivating, compensation, career development, and succession planning all are contributors to building a strong talent pool.

You will learn more about two employees who have been with ACME, Inc. for two years. Andy is working as a quality assurance specialist in the plant and Ismal is an IT robotics specialist.
