GENERAL REPORT-FORMAT GUIDELINES[1]:
When you write a report, you will want to make it easy to read and understand. Here are some guidelines to apply to any report you write:

Use lists: Whenever you can, help your reader by using lists. Give your lists visual emphasis by using bullets.
Use headings and subheadings: Use headings and subheadings to guide your reader through the organization of the report. Each section should have a clear topic statement to let the reader know what will be included in the section.
Use clear typefaces, such as Times New Roman or Arial: Avoid using more than one typeface in a document. Bold section headings for emphasis.
Use white space to enhance your information: Dense blocks of text are difficult to read and will make it more difficult for your readers to find the information they need. ….
Write the body of your report first[before you write the Executive Summary]
Maintain consistent structure: Once you determine the structure you will use, keep using it consistently throughout the report. This will make it easier for your readers to understand your report.

Length: Enough to effectively address all questions & requirements listed below regarding your chosen speech

DUE: By [SEE COURSE CALENDAR FOR DEADLINE] by 11:59pm, uploaded to Canvas under the Assignments link

Directions: Instead of making you watch a movie or documentary about public speaking, you get to choose what you want to watch for this assignment!

Step 1: Pick a speech that can be found on YouTube.

Important criteria to consider:
The speech must be at least 4 minutes long, no longer than 20 minutes. (Shorter isnt always better, by the way!)
There must be only one speaker delivering the main speech.
The speaker can be anyone (historical figure, celebrity, regular citizen, adult, teenager, etc.)
The speech must be an actual speech performance or direct address to an audience, not just a recording of someone talking for a blog, tutorial, or personal YouTube channel. It will help if the speaker is on a stage, platform, behind a podium, or generally in front of an audience.
Examples: Ashton Kutchers Teen Choice Award acceptance speech, famous commencement addresses, anything from the Ted Talks channel, general motivational speeches, guest speakers at assemblies

Step 2: Watch ALL of the video that you choose.

Step 3: Take notes during the video for your paper.
Include the following information about the speech in your paper:
Why did you choose this video?
What is the speakers central idea? (Also known as their thesis or main idea)
What are some of the main points that the speaker addresses? (What are the ideas that the speaker is trying to get the audience to understand or accept?)

Step 4: You will also add in your personal observations and critiques about the speakers performance.
Please DESCRIBE & EXPLAIN the following (These are not just Yes or No questions):
Did the speaker have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion?
Was there an effective attention-getter? Was there an impactful ending?
Were transitions used to help the audience follow along from one point to another? (Also known as sign posts or transitional words & phrases).
Name 2 things that the speaker did really well in his/her performance.
Name 2 things that the speaker should improve or correct in his/her performance.
Do you believe this speaker is a credible speaker? (Credibility). Why or why not?
Overall, what did you like the most about this speech? What did you dislike the most?

Textual Analysis Essay on the movie Harold and Maude link to movie  – https://lookmovie.ag/movies/view/harold-and-maude-1971

Three to Six pages in MLA Format

Dont write what you think you ought to say; instead, write what you see and what you feel.  Read a story and find the central message.  The message should not be a clich nor anything that you have heard before.  The message should be fresh and non-obvious.  To find an interesting message, you must read between the lines and find a subtext.  In the subtext is the wisdom.

Make the message your thesis statement.

For example, Dr. Seusss Green Eggs and Ham shows that a narrow-minded attitude turns one into a life-hating curmudgeon, but when one tries something new with someone new, for the sake of trying something, one turns into a cosmopolitan with a newfound zeal for life and a variety of experiences.  You can call the essay, From Fool to Foody: Finding the Spice of Life in Green Eggs and Ham.

Organization

Your first paragraph should be devoted to explaining your thesis statement.  Can you explain what you mean by your claim in different ways?  Do what you can to clarify the thesis statement as if you were talking to a neighbor or a friend.  Do not write sweeping generalizations like People have always had an aversion to unusual food.  Sweeping generalizations always fall under one of two categories: the obviously right and the obviously wrong.  Dont state the obvious like All people eat food.

Your body paragraphs should be a series of subclaims (topic sentences) which are supported with evidence and analysis.  Each paragraph should look as follows:

Your last paragraph should notnotrestate the thesis statement and the major points.  I said dont restate your thesis statement and the three major points.  If you restate your thesis statement et cetera, you will bore the reader to tears and lose points.  A conclusion should be, ideally, an emphatic statement in which the reader has been prepared.  Dont write in conclusion.

Select a psychoactive drug that is of pharmacological interest to you, but not one you will review as part of your Critical Review or one that was included in your previous Rapid Reviews. For this paper, you may choose drugs of abuse; however, the paper must focus on the pharmacology of the drug and not on the social or addictive aspects.  If you focus on addiction and social impact, your paper will not receive credit.

In addition to the text, research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years on your selected drug. Prepare a three-page summary of the drug using the PSY630 Rapid Review Example paper (Links to an external site.) as a guide.
In your Rapid Review, analyze and explain the pharmacological aspects of the drug as they relate to the following: neurotransmitters affected, receptors, route of administration, half-life, doses, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and other important facets of the drug. Explain these aspects of the drug in terms of the psychiatric disorders indicated for the drug and the issue(s) associated with that use. If there is no accepted therapeutic use for the drug, evaluate and describe the actions of the drug with regard to the abuse process.

The paper:

Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length, excluding title page and references page, and it must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. (Links to an external site.)

Your name
Course name and number
Your instructors name
Date submitted
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must use at least three peer-reviewed sources in addition to the text.
Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

The extent to which China presents a threat to the US and whether or not China can rise peacefully is a topic of debate within realism and security studies. John Mearsheimer, for example, has argued forcefully that if China continues on its current trajectory, then conflict with the US is inevitable.

To what extent is China a security threat?

I’ve attached the references you should use for this essay.
Thank you.

After reviewing the accompanying links, produce an Annotated Bibliography for a minimum of five academic sources related to your research paper topic. Minimum of 150 words per entry. Must be written entirely in your own words. No direct quotes allowed and obviously, plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in a zero on the assignment.

Follow the following template:

Dedicate the first half of each entry to summarizing the author’s main ideas.

What were the author’s main focus and central argument? What were their key concepts?

What evidence did the author use to support their argument? How did they collect it?

Dedicate the second half of each entry to reflecting on how the source fits into your research paper.

Did you find anything especially interesting or helpful about the piece?

Will any of the piece’s key concepts figure into your own discussion of the topic?

Do any concepts or arguments in this piece connect with others in your annotated bibliography?

The purpose of this assignment is to set you up for success in your research paper. The more effort you put into this step, the better off you will be going into the final weeks of the semester.
