Prepare an essay response that addresses the following items:
– What factors distinguish the labor relations system in the public sector from that in the private sector?
– Propose a public-sector labor relations system for the employees of the city government.
– What would it borrow from the private sector?
– What would it not be able to borrow? Why?
– How would you modify your system to account for specific aspects of city government? Why?
First, read the research article posted in Assignments as “Article For RRQ #1”.
Then, answer the following questions in a .doc, .docx, or .rtf and upload it below. Your responses should be well-considered, complete, grammatical sentences, and should indicate that you genuinely read and thought critically about the article. Responses should be no fewer than 300 words total (not counting restating the questions, if you choose to do so).
Please answer each question in a separate, numbered paragraph.
Questions to answer:
What was, in your own words, the purpose of the paper?
What was/were the researcher’s research question(s)? (in essence, the whole point of the paper–what were they hoping to find out?)
What methods did the researchers use to try to answer their research question(s)?
What did the authors conclude about their research question(s)? What greater implications might their findings have?
How does this study tie in to the material we have covered in class? (Do not say “they have a brain and we talked about brains”…dude, come on.)
Describe the modes (at least two) of communications you will use to reach your objectives and convey your message accurately (advertisement, sales promo, PR, direct mail and/or one-on-one sales) to introduce your product to the marketplace. And, talk to why you have chosen these modes of communications.
What media (at least two) will you use for your communications pieces (TV, radio, print, social, other)? Why do you think these media are optimal for your message?
How will you track and evaluate the results of your communications pieces?

1. There is a species of fish (with low numbers) that is having trouble traveling up and down the river because of a dam.
2. Chose an area that is economically depressed but has a lot of species diversity, you need to protect the species while providing jobs for locals.
3. An animal is being poached for its horn which is believed in some cultures to cure many diseases, it is not critically endangered.
4. The demand for farming is increasing, which is destroying native forests and affecting their biodiversity.
5. An animal is starting to become isolated because it is afraid to cross roads created by deforestation.
6. Local birds typically migrate over the winter, but people are feeding them and thermal pollution at a local stream is keeping the water warmer the birds are not migrating, resulting in water pollution.
7. A drought has been going on for a period of time; the water needed for homes, businesses, and farms has decreased lake and river levels impacting the amount available for local flora and fauna.
8. Species are being found dead on local beaches due to plastic.
Create a pamphlet addressing the following:
1. What is the issue and why it would work
2. Describe the restoration method you selected and why it would be best (with at least 2 examples of how it has worked in similar situations from peer reviewed sources)
3. Time frame to complete the plan (include short and long term objectives)
4. What is the end goal of the restoration project

Executive Summary
This section should be a high-level overview of your policy issue and solution. It is recommended (and easier) that you wait until you have finished your research paper before you start writing the executive summary.
Introduction and Background of the Issue
Provide an introduction which explains the issue being discussed. Why is it important to review the problem at this time? Provide background information on the topic so that a reader unfamiliar with the topic can understand the current issue at hand.
Statement of the Problem
Re-state the issue or problem in a clear and concise manner.
Current Policies
What are the current policies addressing the issue? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages with these policies. Are the current policies working or not working? Why is it necessary to find alternative policies at this time to address the issue?
Alternative Policy Recommendations
Discuss alternative policy options and their implications
Provide your recommendation and how it can be implemented
Conclusion
Summarize your policy analysis and recommendations

In thinking about this subject, make sure you understand the key points made in the article. And think about how you’ve come to change your mind about various subjects or topics. What were the influences that helped you change your mind? And how would get those in your organization to change their minds and do something that they might be reluctant to change.

Review the Theories of Gender:Sex.pdfPreview the document reading. You only need to review the section on critical/cultural theories (pages 8-12 meaning the pages of the PDF, not the scanned page numbers). The four shared assumptions will become the foundation of your critique.
4. In 300-500 words, describe the 4 shared assumptions of critical/cultural theory.
5. In 400-700 words, compare the 4 shared assumptions of critical/cultural theory to genderlect theory. Does the theory meet the standards described by the four assumptions of critical/cultural theory?
6. In 300-500 words, draw some conclusions about your analysis. These questions are just ways to get you started with the last section. The point of a conclusion is to both summarize what you have done and then explain why what you have written matters. What did you learn by applying a critical/cultural lens to genderlect theory? How would you revise genderlect theory to better fit the four assumptions? What does genderlect theory leave out with regard to gender/sex? What would you say to someone who thinks genderlect theory is the best theory to explain gender communication?
To give you a sense of how long this paper will be if you type the maximum for each section, your paper will be roughly 5 pages single-spaced if you use size 12 Times New Roman font with 1″ margins.
While the implementation plan prepares students to apply their research to the problem or issue they have identified for their capstone change proposal project, the literature review enables students to map out and move into the active planning and development stages of the project.
A literature review analyzes how current research supports the PICOT, as well as identifies what is known and what is not known in the evidence. Students will use the information from the earlier PICOT Statement Paper and Literature Evaluation Table assignments to develop an 1100 word review that includes the following sections:
1. Title page
2. Introduction section
3. A comparison of research questions
4. A comparison of sample populations
5. A comparison of the limitations of the study
6. A conclusion section, incorporating recommendations for further research
Read the chapter from A First Look at Communication Theory – Genderlect Styles found in this module. This chapter explains a popular perspective of gender communication. Genderlect theory claims to be an intercultural theory of gender. Many critical scholars have taken issue with this claim.
In 300-500 words, describe the theory. The audience for this section should be someone with little to no experience studying gender or communication. The point of this section is to show that you understand this theory. You can include the strengths and weaknesses of the theory.
